The person we actually had contact with gave me the name of the contact person who was to arrange to see the property, but he never called. I called again, and received no call back from the person who was supposed to call. The third time, I was told that they were very busy and that the contact person probably wouldn't call right away because there was some sort of "tax free" purchase day in MA. He might call after the 26th, if we were still interested. The person we spoke with said he couldn't help because he was going on vacation. The day that "Dave"? was to call, maybe, he didn't call. The third time I received no call from the supposed estimator for Elfman's. Very disappointing.

They did what they said they were going to do on the day and at the time.

Wanted to get estimate on flooring for 5 rooms. Did not return phone calls for 10 days. Finally reached through main office via pager. Scheduled an appointment to come to my home. Cancelled 1 hour before appointment via email and rescheduled for following week. Never showed for rescheduled appointment. No phone call and no email. Truly unprofessional. Obviously my money will be spent elsewhere as they don't care about potential customers.

From start to finish, our experience was top notch. We got excellent customer service in the store, our installation was scheduled promptly, and we got meticulous installation by a friendly and punctual team.

They were quick to respond to our requests. They were flexible and the floors looked great.

They were responsive by email and phone. We ended up not using their service this time for our own reasons (timing), but if and when we decide to proceed, we will likely use them.

They did a great job, I am pretty OCD and looked at all the edges and doorways they are all very crisp. I would definitly recommend these guys.

Mal Elfman's recommended the best carpet based on our needs (attractive, but durable, given that is in high-traffic area). Their installer did a great job of getting the carpet seamlessly around the bannister spindles and other irregularities of the 3 flights of stairs (times 3 buildings).

Fred was wonderful and even recommended an excellent carpet cleaner for our other carpets in the house (Sunshine Cleaners).

They were good in terms of friendliness. They explained the options. Their offer was very easy to deal with. They gave me sample to take home. They were able to send an e-mail like a couple of days later. They were very punctual and efficient. The guys were done pretty quickly. I was happy with the work. They were a little expensive but it was worth it.

Met a tight deadline -- worked late into the night -- to get the carpet laid before the movers came. Cleaned up afterwards. Also helped me find low-cost remnant to replace stair carpet that led to the basement. Would use them again.

Excellent service. Just a great experience. Found different carpets that would work and gave me pieces to take home. Then I changed my mind and they were so patient. The installation was done extremely well also.

These guys are great - a real service-oriented company. And Bryan, who performed the work, is a genuine craftsman who brings a ton of intelligence, skill, and collaborative attitude to his work. Our basement floor was in pretty hard shape; Bryan put down several coats of leveling cement and then installed rubber tiles we'd purchased ourselves. At several stages he noticed things and made suggestions that really improved the overall look of the finished project without adding to the cost (e.g., adding a little trim to the edge of an adjacent floor that dressed it up nicely). He also worked with us to figure out a way of dealing with an area where we get a little seepage during especially heavy rains, and tracked down a type of rubber edging material that was perfect for forming a little defensive barrier. He deserves special mention for the way he handled several drain pipes that go into the floor - he made perfect freehand cuts in the tile. so that there's virtually no gap around the pipes, even though they go in at odd angles. Brilliant! Everything went super-smoothly and enjoyably - top marks for everyone at Elfman's.

They did a great job. They were in & out. Didn't leave a mess. They know what they had to do.

They were fantastic. Arrived on time, did a great job, and were efficient and polite. One of the area rugs I wanted had a stain on it, so they had their carpet guy come in and clean it, and it was perfect. My daughter changed her mind about her rug, so we went back to choose a different one, and they were fine with that. Paul was so awesome to work with. I couldn't recommend higher. Great value, great service, great rugs!

Went well. Prompt response to all queries, everything done on schedule, thoughtful installation done by very capable guys who were a pleasure to work with. I've not commented on price because I hadn't compared Elfman pricing to others -- tho' I'm confident that I got full value.

Paul was a riot, playful, knowledgeable and extremely friendly. The work was done quickly and looked great.

We ended up going with vinyl tiles and a carpet fragment on the stairs and as an area rug. They prepped the floor, whcih we had taken ddown to the cement floor, and installed the tiles and the rug on the stairs. They were punctual, did a good job, clean, and responsive. They did a quality job. My complaint is that they didn't keep their samples well organized, and I didn't get the feeling that they were up on the latest flooring possibilities. I wasn't well directed in the options available to me. For example, several months after the work was finished, I saw someone else's basement flooring solution. They used a much newer material that in hindsight I wish I had used. I might use Elfman's again but only after I have researched what I want, and know my options. I didn't get that kind of service at Elfman's.

It was a last minute decision to replace the carpet in an tenant occupied apt. The old tenant moved out and we had to fix the entire unit before the new tenant moved in. I found Mal Elfman's of Waltham while driving by. I walked in the store and told them that I needed the carpet done by the end of the week. A measurement to the unit was made an hour later and I got the quote couple hours later. I didn't go for Mal Elfman's because my husband decided to DYI.

They re a "bargain" flooring company. Old, old company started in Chelsea. Not a huge amount of choice, but we found enough wool (yes wool, real wool) to do the job. High quality workmanship. I forget the price for all this, but was very reasonable, under $1000 ? I cannot remember.

We were extremely satisfied with every aspect of our rug purchase and subsequent installation. My husband and I have an expectation of getting a good product , service and workmanship.. We were most concerned about the installation since that is the most important aspect of buying carpeting and I can't say enough about their professionalism , attention to detail and accommodation.

Fred helped me choose a carpet and did the measurements which were PERFECT. Only 2 seams strategically place made a very neat job. He was great to work with. The two men who did the installation were very pleasant and professional. They thoroughly cleaned up the area of installation. I apologize that I can't remember their names, because of the job they did and because Elfman's was well-represented by them.

Paul was really a great help and inspiration as we were choosing our new stair carpet. We have an older home with wide stairs so we needed a quality carpet that would work with the rest of the decor. He measured the space and was able to give us a targeted range of options from their huge showroom in Waltham.
