I first shopped another Waltham flooring company and received high prices, poorly calculated measurements with improper scrap allowances and mediocre advice. At Elfman's, I received excellent guidance in selecting the most durable vinyl flooring for my locations (fully adhered vs loose laid) as well as the best carpet (nylon vs acrylic) for my money. Fred Richard came to my house to measure. He was on time, courteous and professional. He measured and calculated how best to install each material with minimal waste. The installers arrived on time, too. The wrong carpet was delivered first, but a visit to the store straightened out everything easily and quickly. The preparation and installation in the second kitchen was especially well done. This is the 3rd project that Mal Elfman's has done for me and each time my experience is better.

Dave helped me and was very responsive the whole way through. The carpet layer was meticulous and even helped me move my furniture around once he was finished. I would definitely use them again.

I worked with Fred Richard who was wonderful and came over the same day to measure the staircase. The carpet was ordered and installed within two weeks. The men who did the installation were great and did exactly what I asked for. The price was high, but it's likely that it's because of the quality of carpet and pattern that I chose. I would definitely use this company again.

Had a favorable meeting with Fred who walked us through some of the finer points of carpet. At our first meeting at the store, he was helpful in answering questions, providing estimated costs and, giving us a clear idea of schedule. The costs were a touch lower than other area stores and we appreciated the personalized service. They were accommodating in scheduling the installation. I wouldn't hesitate to use them again.

This started out a little rocky, but ended up well when all was said and done. We visited the store and spoke with a very helpful salesperson, but when we called back to speak to him to schedule measurements, he didn't return our messages. The following week, we spoke to another salesperson who agreed to come to our house about an hour later to do the measurements (after hours), but he forgot about us and no-showed. When we called back later that night, we found out that he'd forgotten, but a third salesman (Alan) agreed to come out, and he showed up shortly thereafter. From that point onward, it was an excellent experience. What sets Mal Elfman's apart, we think, is the very large selection of high-quality remnants, which saved us a great deal of money. We purchased the carpet on a Saturday, and they installed it the following Friday. Neat and tidy workers, who finished the job in about 3 hours.

I had old peel-and-stick tiles. Some subfloor was missing in panty where built-in cabinet had been removed. Hallway had old indoor-outdoor carpeting stapled to subfloor which was buckled and uneven. Danny advised me of the best way to install flooring - glued vs floated. Leveled out uneven areas where loose tiles were removed. Danny even took time to raise threshholds where possible and tucked flooring under them to give better finished effect. Expertly trimmed and installed around steam radiators without having to move them. Overall job was done with high level of expertise and relatively quickly. They came on time and left everything clean and neat.
