REMODELING AND NEW CONSTRUCTION, CORRECTION OF BUILDING PROBLEMS.
Limmar Construction (Jon Marcus, President) was very responsive to my request for a quote. Jon is a native English speaker, college-educated, and very easy to communicate with. He visited our house within a couple of days, and provided a prompt estimate and contract. The price was good and terms were fine (1/3 due at signing, 1/3 when work begins, 1/3 upon completion). We had a tight 12-day window in which to finish the work, and Jon was willing to commit to this. Work began promptly and went fine until the plastering was "done". After just 1 coat they were going to move on to sanding and painting, but I saw that it wasn't even close to smooth. The contract called for 2 coats in places. I had to ask Jon to come and look at it, and he was very responsive and agreed it required another coat which the plasterer did. Painting was "done" on-time but fairly sloppy -- they got paint on some exposed pipes and joists where they shouldn't have, and the lines where different-colored walls meet is very wavy, both of which look bad even from 20' away. Jon's approach is to be a bit hands-off, and rely on the customer to tell him when something is wrong. I personally prefer that a contractor actively makes sure their subs get it right the first time. Overall I'd rate them "Fair": Good price, punctuality, and responsiveness, not-so-good quality.
Description of Work: Limmar hung some drywall, then hired a plasterer to apply corner bead, then skim coat plaster (2 coats on 3 large walls), then hired a painting company to prep, prime, and paint 3 large walls.

Limmar was very professional and completed the work on a tight schedule. They stayed in touch with the mold remediation company and made several trips to the house while the mold remediation company was working to make sure they knew what needed to be done. They provided a clear estimate and drawing by email which was great since I live in a different state. I inspected the work later and it was done very professionally.
Description of Work: I was selling my parents' house in another state and needed a construction company to replace walls immediately after a mold remediation company completed their work so that the work was done before the house sale was completed. They installed mold and moisture resistant wallboard under stairs in a basement and along 2 wall, skim coated the walls to a smooth finish and applied primer.
