Good, professional techician on site. Job seemed to go well. One week later I noticed the surrounding carpet was saturated with water and the condensor pipe was not in place. Not knowing what was casuing the leak at the time, I placed an emergency call to Homestead. No word from owner. Technician did call me back. No emergency service was available but this technician did come by the next day to assess the issue. To their credit, Homestead did reimburse me the water remedication costs without incident. On Oct 4th, I turned on the heat for the first time. Smoke and oder set off all my smoke detectors. Turned off the system. Fire Dept came by. Placed emergency call to Homestead. Told him what was going on. He said he would get back to me. They never did. After a couple of days, I called another company to assess the situation and verify that the system was safe. It was. There was residue burn off the caused the smoke detectors to go off. The work done by Homestead was good. The emergency service I experieced was poor. I was met with hostile email response when I emailed them with the additional costs I had to incur to insure the safety of my HVAC system.
Description of Work: Had routine maintenance done on my HVAC system on Aug 4.

Response from Homestead Plumbing & Heating
Yes, we performed a routine preventative maintenance call for Member, although, after we investigated how she got our number, we discovered that she lied about the referal. After the original service, our tech ran the furnace, as thats part of the check up,it ran great, job was complete. Eight days later, Member emailed us of a water leak, after she addmited she had no light and was moving boxes around her basement, apparently the condensate pipe had popped out of place, causing a minor water spillage. After talking with the technician from the remmidiation company, this was a lot different story than what Member told us, never the less, I wanted a happy client, we paid for the clean up, which by the way, happen to be the exact cost of our service, we thought that was odd. On October 16th, Sue emailed me, explaining, she never hear back from me, when she called on Oct 9th, and she wanted me to pay the service call of another company, I explained, I did call back within an hour and have a record of doing so, and I dont think I should pay for another company that went out to tell her the system was all set. I explained, I am very sorry that we can not make you happy and we are doing our best, and it might be a good idea to go with another company in the future, her response was very harsh. In my eyes, this is a person who is using the good reputation of others as a referal to find new people and then take full advantage of them and their profession.
