They've been easy to deal with. I chose them based on their discount via Mass Energy Consumer Alliance which negotiates lower per gallon rates.

On another note, we had written a somewhat negative review of this company on Angie's List several months ago, but subsequently were able to resolve the issue with them to our mutual satisfaction.

Description of Work: The above approximate price includes annual cost of the oil (which we rec'd at a discount bc we belong to MassSave) and the maintenance agreement of $240. | |We might as well NOT have had the maintenance agreement, because the 2 times we called them this past winter, they charged us. Once, for a small valve that wasn't covered, which would have been fine. But THEN they charged us for the cost of the VISIT bc the offending part wasn't part of the agreement. I didn't have any problem paying for the valve, but the service call should have been covered. So an additional $135 total on top of the maintenance agreement. |The second time we called them to check the furnace, we had a frozen pipe but didn't know it. They correctly diagnosed the problem, but once AGAIN charged us for the visit - another $100, saying that since the pipe was frozen, there wasn't anything wrong with the furnace. Well, how was I supposed to rule out a furnace issue unless qualified professional came out and diagnosed the issue for equipment they agreed to take of? To me, that means ruling out a problem as much as fixing one. |We never had this problem with Coan, and so no, we will not be renewing our contract with Genove.

Description of Work: They replaced our furnace and re routed all our duct work in our very old house to allow overhead space and the possibility of finishing our basement. |The work was impeccable, the consult was detailed and honest. I felt like I could trust what I was being told. They were a little higher priced, but I felt it was worth it and am totally glad I trusted my instinct on that. I have since switched my oil delivery to them as well. Good company, would entirely recommend.

Description of Work: Genove was our oil supplier for the MassEnergy Consumer Alliance wholesale oil buying club. They were great for supplying oil. The price was dictated by MassEnergy and was great. As part of the delivery service, we were required to get a service contract which was typically $220 per year. That included an annual cleaning and tuneup. They were professional and on time, and their services are better than average, but not the best. We also got quotes from them two different time for installing a new boiler for forced hot water heating and hot water. They were about 20% higher than others for the same boiler installation and didn't have any high efficiency options. We had Patriot Heating install a high efficiency boiler (System 2000) and they now supply our oil and service the boiler.

Description of Work: My Mom's furnace needed a new stack relay, an older device that's sometimes hard to find. Genove managed to get one and install it quickly. They were very knowledgeable about everything and gave me a very close estimate of what was required. They are a relatively small company. In fact, the owner of the company came out on the initial call. Also, I asked for and they quickly supplied written estimates for converting the old oil burner furnace to either a high-efficiency oil burner or a complete conversion to natural gas. I'd definitely use them again for service work.
