The estimate process was complete and thorough. All Ferraro was patient with our many questions as well as our need to take time with the decision. He went above and beyond by bringing in a representative of the window manufacturer to address problems with the existing old windows.

I had received a call that the team would be doing the windows on Monday and Tuesday. They showed up, were very polite, they all introduced themselves by name and shook my hand. After verifying the job, they got right to it. They were very professional and efficient. They were able to get the job done in one day! (We were lucky that in early January we hit 50 degrees). They cleaned up all of the debris, hauled all of the junk away, and were terrific. I have recommend them to a family member. I really like that they are a local company, and that they were really good. Hopefully, everything will be fine, but I have no doubt that would be back in a flash if I needed any touch up adjustments.

Excellent. He was on-time and gave a thorough, clear explanation. He did not over-sell and was clearly more honest and straightforward than other estimates we received.

Jeff and one workman, Dave, showed up at approximately 9:15 after calling a few days earlier to confirm the appointment. Both men were very professional doing an excellent job of removing the old windows and installing the new windows. Caulking of all windows was done and additional insulation was installed. Floors where protected while work was being done. All debris was removed. Two additional employees appeared lated in the afternoon and the entire job was completed in one day.

We're very happy with the result. They weren't the least expensive but their prices were reasonable and they got the job done right. We'd definitely hire them again. One of the reasons we'd hire them again is that they adapted well when things didn't go right. No job goes perfectly. What distinguishes a good contractor is how they respond when things don't go right. In our case, there were some problems getting the windows from Harvey (in part because someone wrote down or read window dimensions incorrectly) and they initially installed the wrong color door. They resolved both issues in as timely a manner as was feasible. The only reason I'd rate the overall experience as "good" instead of "excellent" is that they could have completed the job in one trip instead of two if someone had double checked the window dimensions and the color door specified on the work order. That noted, we're very pleased with the final result.

We are happy with the work and the windows. The windows were a few weeks late arriving but otherwise everything went very well. The representative (Al) answered our phone calls in a timely manner and worked with us to install the windows on a date that would fit our schedule. The workers were punctual, very polite, and did not show any frustration when the custom aluminum wrap on one window proved quite tricky to do. They finished the job in one very long day, staying much later than any of us had expected but were cheerful and informative up to the last minute. They wasted no time the whole day and they cleaned up everything before they left. After the installation, the company representative answered an email immediately with the information we requested. The cost for the work was competitive.

They really did the job just as promised and they beat competitors prices.

I think they are a great company! They are very responsive and have a very personalized service.

Al provided a quote for me in 2006 and in 2007, when we were finally ready to start this project, I asked for an updated quote. He was very professional and very prompt. The quote was detailed and gave us pricing for every possible option. The level of detail in the quote was amazing. We would have used this company except that we decided to install the windows on our own to save some money. I'm sorry we were not able to give them our business this time.

They were very professional, gave estimate in a timely fashion. They were also very knowledgeable about the product.

After calling a number of places, ProWindows seemed to be the best deal; They had a good estimate, showed up on time, and were prompt. They did the work quickly, efficiently, and made sure that they left the rooms as clean as they were before they did the work. They even did some extra fixes, which were nice. Afterwords, they called to let us know that they had noticed one of the windows had a semi-cosmetic issue which they'll fix at no charge. They forgot to take one old-window frame/surround, but since they're coming back to fix the little window issue, that's not a problem. We're definitely going to replace the other house windows at some point, and have them do it.

I would recommend this company to potential customers.

Excellent. The guys who did the install were really polite and cleaned up after themselves, even came back on a Saturday to finish the last window and the storm door, which did not arrive with the order for the rest of the windows. They always have an actual human being answering the phone during business hours. I did have to be a bit persistent to schedule the follow-up, but I think that's merely because they, like me, are really, really busy.

Although I haven't yet picked a contractor to replace my windows, I just HAD to tell the list how great this company did in going ABOVE AND BEYOND my expectations. They called me twice to tell me they were running about 15 minutes late, had the owner actually come in order to be closer to on time and while he was explaining everything to me, both cats got out, I had left the front door open. The owner noticed, alerted me and he ran outside and around the neighborhood getting the cats back. Blacky, was spitting and growling (not a people person cat), but Jeff calmly brought him back into the house and we finished up the estimate outside. Showed me how without a second thought this company owner leads by giving extra effort. Very professional and helpful. Got the estimate later that same day via email. Detailed. I just need to get at least one other estimate to feel right about making such a large monetary decision.

They were a great company to work with. They did not promote only one product. That to me was a big plus because with such a big investment you want a variety and you want to be able to choose. I was satisfied with my decision and I would highly recommend them.

Awesome. From the quote process to installation all three jobs exceeded my expectations. They arrived on time, cleaned up after each job, and were as quiet as possible given the nature of the job.

Excellent. I was a little concerned about hiring a window contractor instead of just going straight to the manufacturer but everything worked out wonderfully. We called to set up an appointment for an estimate and they were able to schedule a time that best for us (evenings!) the same week. They sent us the estimate very quickly. Jeff, the owner, even stopped back before he ordered the windows to double check a measurement that "looked a little funny". The installation went very well - they were courteous, clean (brought dropcloths) and professional.

After visiting their stand at the home show in Boston, we requested an estimate to replace 5 bedroom windows, a specialty window and two pairs of side-by-side double-hung windows by two bay windows. After missing the first appointment scheduled by Jeff at the home show to be on Feb. 26, the estimator came on Feb. 27. We were told that Jeff himself might have to come to the house to look into the bay window possible installation issues. So far, we have not heard anything from ProWindows: no estimate, no follow-up, nothing. My conclusion is that either the job might be too involved for them (e.g., the bay windows) or they felt victims of their own reputation (which is good according to Angie's List) and are too busy to even follow-up with prospective clients or to have the courtesy to call to say that they can not take the job. Either way, I can only give them a poor grade for their performance with us.

They installed 14 of the windows within 6 hours and left the house spotless. They vacuumed every room and made sure that each window operated correctly before leaving. They had to come back a few days later to finish the last 2 windows due to a couple of sills needing to be replaced. I would hire them again in a heartbeat and they were very competitively priced.

Overall we had an excellent experience, starting with Al Ferrara who gave us the estimate. Polo came to do the actual job and was terrific. First did a great job, cleaned up completely when done, took the trash and old windows away, taught us how to use the new windows. The only glitch in the whole process was scheduling, the office made assumptions. After 6 weeks to custom order the windows, the office called to schedule our installation 72 hours before they planned to come. Then the installers were told the wrong time. Polo called on his way (4 hours early); he was gracious about coming at the scheduled time later that day.

The job was preformed a year ago. I had originally submitted not-so complimentary report when there were some delays and mistakes in the orders. After I had submitted the report I had called the owner who took fantastic care of every problem window never once considering the expense involved. Mistakes happen but true professionalism shows when we deal with them well!

We chose ProWindows because Jeff seemed organized & professional. The quality of the work was great. HOWEVER, I WOULD NEVER work with them again because of the frustration I experienced trying to get the job finished. He said he replaced a leaky storm window so we paid the bill. However, the next time it rained the window leaked & fogged up. I left countless messages & sent numerous emails but didn't get a single call back from Jeff. I gave up trying to contact him after about a year! My husband called him at that time & miraculously got Jeff on the phone, who said he had replaced the window a couple of times but if it s still fogging up we have to drill a hole in it. I don t know if that s standard procedure but what bugs me the most is that he NEVER ONCE returned my calls or responded to emails. I just find that entirely unacceptable. AND our window still fogs up.

He came at the appointed time, sent us an estimate. Several months later we decided to have the work done, called to see if the estimate was still valid and Jeff said he would come by, recheck windows and send out a new estimate. He did not send us a new estimate despite me calling him 2 more times.

Jeff Fisher and prowindows did the windows on my three decker in somerville about eight years ago. I just called him the other week because someone had slammed a window really hard and it was stuck closed. I considered the problem our fault and was willing to pay to have it fixed. Jeff came over himself and fixed the problem in minutes for no charge. I highly recommend Prowindows, their prices are reasonable, they did great work, cleaned up well after themselves and eight years after completing the job, dropped by at no charge to put a window back on track.

I sent two detailed emails to the company inquiring about service and costs, etc. No one ever got back to me. I'm on the Board of a condo association. Are they still even in business? If not, they should be off Angie's List.
