Unfortunately, Peter Gleason did not show up on the first appointment saying, "It's on me", but not apologizing or giving any reason for why he did not show up. The next time he showed up he was verbally abusive saying things like, "It's no wonder this isn't working, you probably never take care of it" and pointing to our thermostat and saying, "Why don't you get a good thermostat instead of a crappy Home Depot one". When he was asked why, he would respond, "I don't have time to answer those stupid questions." He had to be asked to leave because he was raising his voice and acting completely unprofessional. It was the most bizarre and unpleasant experience with a contractor. We had work done by him in the past (which is why I could rate his work) and he was not pleasant, but not as bad as this time. His work quality is good, but his responsiveness and completely unprofessional behavior get the worst scores.

Very well. Heat pump had failed. Within 10 days I had a new system installed. Provider gave me 3 estimates varying in quality/convenience. The only disappointment was in the details of the estimates. I was not given a breakdown of the cost of the items, labor, and profit, which I was used to from my previous experiences with a reputable contractor I had used before many times and who had recommended this provider. I had heard that this is the common practice in this industry. That is too bad, since I was willing to pay extra for transparency in the contract. It is always a good feeling when you know what you are paying for.

Recommendation from our neighbor as they did a good job and was highly recommended. Got in touch with Peter the first day and he took down my info and was going to call me back to schedule a visit for a quote.. its been a week with no call back and have left a message and tried calling a few times with no answer. I would expect some response given the great reviews from past experiences.

On time. Organized. Went right to work. Completed and fixed. On schedule and on budget.

They were very reasonable and fairly responsive. We checked out a few other people and they had the best price. It seemed like they knew what they were doing. They were good, but there were a couple of instances where the system leaked a little bit, and they were fairly responsive in coming back for that. Their punctuality in installing the system was excellent. I would probably use them again.

I asked Custom Air (Peter Gleason) to bid on this job on the positive recommendation from a neighbor. I received another bid from a larger HVAC company. I was impressed with Peter from the start. He gave a much more thoughtful analysis of our needs, including suggesting rebuilding our antiquated existing basement ductwork. I hadn't originally thought of that option, but it turned out to be a great idea. The original ductwork was improperly sized, uninsulated and it filled up lots of volume in the basement because it wasn't installed near the ceiling. The bid from the larger HVAC company commented on the improper sizing of the ductwork but it didn't mention the possibility of rebuilding it-- instead it proposed installing two furnaces to give more heating capacity to compensate for the ductwork issues. The cost would have been nearly the same for a much inferior result. Peter and his son Matthew removed the old ductwork and did a beautiful job of installing new ducts. They were also a pleasure to deal with. Always punctual, friendly and helpful. One morning, I asked Matthew why they had installed one duct below a pipe instead of above it where it would have nestled near the ceiling. That evening I checked their work and saw to my surprise that they had removed the new duct and reinstalled it above the pipe. They never charged me for this additional work. The entire job took about two weeks. So far the new furnace is working perfectly-- and much quieter than the old one. All around a great experience.

They had installed our central air. I don't remember how much I spent this time. They were reasonable. They found the problem and fixed it. They were very friendly. I've used them since I installed the system with them. They were punctual and right on time. I would use their services again in the future.

I picked Custom Air because the owner Peter seemed to be honest, knowledgeable, and efficient. He worked with me and provided several different estimates as my list of what I wanted to be done changed. Of the three companies I collected HVAC estimates from, this company seemed the most together in terms of providing timely estimates and scheduling the work. The work was very neat, and Custom Air was always careful about cleaning up afterwards. Peter also provided and filled out his part of forms for energy rebates.

The person who came out did a very thorough examination and sent us a plan. I was very impressed with his work.

Peter Gleason did a great job installing exactly what I wanted. I had called many companies before I found Custom Air Systems. I wanted a combination AC/air filtration/ventilation system. He was the only one I talked to who could combine those three in one systems. I have baseboard heat, so I needed air ducts cut into the ceiling of every room It took about one week to get all the vents and equiptment installed. Even though the summer was on the cool side, my house gets blasted by the sun all day. It was the best $9000 I have ever spent. When the days are not hot, I can run the vent with the AC off, and it cleans all the dust and pollen out of the air.

Peter Gleason came very quickly after I called him initially and gave us a quote. He initially suggested a much more affordable option (which was in fact what I had asked about), but picked up on the fact that the more powerful and more expensive version would be more appropriate for our needs and then told me about that one as well. We went with the more expensive option and within a weeks' time the entire system was installed and keeping us warm and happy. His explanations of the technology and his work are also excellent.

My experience with him was very good. He is very pleasant and seems to know what he's doing, unlike some we've had come out to do work for us.
