Critter Control of Boston

Critter Control is a very efficient and thorough animal control service. We were glad that they use live traps and that they came very early in the morning to check them. They do excellent work and are very professional. They were successful in ridding us of the raccoons. They have a $150 initial fee and then they charge $100 for each animal that they remove.

They were very thorough in examining the possible entry points for the bats. This included going up on our roof and examining the chimneys. They also went into the attic and were very thorough in checking for evidence of bats. They were reassuring and told us that while some bats had been in the attic at some point, we did not have a colony. They reviewed the work done by a different company a few years ago, and told us all was still in place, then made the additional recommendation of caulking around the rake board and roof. They were very careful in choosing a color that matched our paint and did a beautiful job. They also called us to volunteer that, in reviewing the invoice, they noticed a charge for the service call which should not have been charged and removed it. We were very pleased with the service we received and highly recommend them. We definately will call upon their services again (but we hope it is not necessary)!

Peter arrived punctually, having called first. He was most pleasant and professional. He placed the traps appropriately and came to take away the trapped animals almost instantly after he was called.

I was very impressed with Dan's responsiveness. He returned my call very quickly and came out to my house within hours. He answered all my questions very patiently. Because I didn't want my daughter to know the squirrels were being trapped, he scheduled his visits to the house when she was at school. He also gave me a thorough estimate for fixing other potential problem sites around the entire house.

Called Critter Control because of noises in my chimney. Dan Master responded right away to measure for a three flue chimney. Upon installation a few days later, he discovered the racoon at the bottom of the chimney. After an hour and a half, he and his technician were were able to trap and cage the racoon and then finish the installing of the chimney cap. Both my wife and I thought they did a superb job.

Dan replied to my call quickly and came to survey the situation the same day. I don't usually use superlatives when describing contractors, however, Dan was extremely direct, patient, thorough, and an absolute pleasure to work with. As well, the cost estimate was quite a bit below that of others I had received. I recommend him without reservation and would certainly use him again.

I am very pleased with the service that Critter Control provided. They captured 2 raccoons and 5 squirrels. They were very concerned and careful with the animals and made sure that the traps were locked open over the weekend so the animals would not get trapped over the weekend and suffer. They covered up several holes with flashing that the squirrels had chewed. Before we closed up the holes completely they installed cardboard to see if any animals tried to chew their way out, this way we knew we got everything. I am very satisfied and Peter and Dan were exceptional. Thanks guys!!

Responded very quickly, came the same day at the arranged time, and made a careful assessment of the situation. Very informative. Followed up with us the following week. We recommend them very highly.

Total experience was excellent. Peter answered my call and called back a few hours later (he was on a roof when I called). We made an appointment for the following Monday (I called on Friday). They arrived promptly and did a thorough check of entire house for birds and any other possible problems (related to animals). It turned out there were several nests and a few small entry holes on roof dormers that could not be seen from the ground. They sealed these up and guaranteed the work. They also sealed some small holes in foundation to prevent mice from entering. They put screens on half-circle attic vents to prevent entry. They recommended gutter cleaning but their price was very high for this so I will have someone else do it. Prices for everything were comparable to other services I've used. Very positive experience and I highly recommend.

The technician was at the house promptly at the agreed time. The explanation of what he was going to do was clear and inspired confidence. Each day he visited to check the traps and the holes. Each day you get a note telling you what has or has not happened. We could not be more pleased. And they know their critters; he glanced over at a neighbor's rather neglected garage and said immediately, "And that's where the raccoons live" (he's right). Highly recommended!

We called after 9 pm and left a message. They called back within 5 minutes. We were pretty sure that we had a bat in the chimney since we had had bats in the house earlier in the year. They recommended waiting until morning since there was no guarantee that they would find the animal and that it would save us $100. They came first thing the next morning and inspected the chimney and 2-fireplaces. We did not find the animal. The chimney cap was in good shape and the only animal that could have gotten in was a bat. They recommended replacing the chimney cap with a bat proof one ($325). We plan on replacing the chimney cap. They told us that if we had any other problems with animals in the next 6 months that our inspection fee ($199) would cover those future visits.

They were good and responsive. They were expensive.

I had an excellent experience with this company. They were available immediately for an estimate and explained their process to me in detail on the phone and in the written estimate. They were very knowledgeable about squirrels and their habits. They did the work quickly and efficiently, leaving notes on our door each day letting us know what they had found in the traps. They also did not charge us for squirrels they caught that they determined were 'innocent passersby' rather than residents! They sealed the entry point up and we haven't had any squirrels since then. They also have a very good guarantee. Finally, both of the gentlemen I interacted with were very friendly, polite, and responsive. No complaints at all!

I didn't check relative prices, being thoroughly freaked out by meeting a raccoon on my back stairs. The prices seemed fair to me. All my interactions with Critter Control staff (phone and in person) were excellent.

Dan was very punctual in returning call. Bill set traps, caught squirrel and returned every day for about ten days to check traps and be sure there were no more getting into house. Called frequently to report progress. Installed metal facing to prevent future access to attic for squirrels.

Peter came by the day after I called for a full home evaluation and to set traps. He then came by every day after to check and re-set the traps. The service was great! I was very impressed.

From our very first call with Dan, he was polite, professional, and very responsive to the situation. He also was very respectful of our time. We also were impressed with his willingness to review the entire building (attic, roof, mansard windows, and basement included). While having the bats inside of the house was not a good experience, we were very glad to have Dan help us with keeping any others out.

Great company. Highly recommend as animal removal is not an easy job. Best left to the professionals which this company surely is.

Mr. Master was extremely responsive to our request for a bid and clear in his communications, in explaining both why we have had bats living in our house, and what treatments would be most effective. [His home company's website has the most extensive information I've seen from a pest control specialist.] When we passed what another contractor had told us was the ''right time'' for treating for bats in the spring, Mr. Master very patiently explained the risks of going forward, but also said he'd work with us, since we wanted to complete the work before summer. He completed all work as estimated, and was open and honest about the fact that it was still possible to have a bat in our living space. [We have not, since the treatment in late spring.] Since he's very pleasant to work with, his work seems to be top quality, will return during business hours, if bats were present in the house, and guarantees his work for 2 years, we would not hesitate to use his services again.

They were prompt, pleasant to deal with, and dealt with the issues speedily. I first called them on a Thursday, they put in the traps on Monday, and the animals were removed by Wednesday. I was very satisfied.

He made some cost effective suggestions to help me save money. I've been very pleased with their work, and it seems like they're doing a really good job.
