He was willing to give me options that were services that he did not provide, but they were the best options for me, even if it cost him some business. For that, I want to give him a good review based on his knowledge and professionalism. He will find the right option for you.

Rob is very professional, he returned phone calls in a timely manner. We scheduled a time to have him out to do the estimate. He was prompt, friendly and respectful of my home. I received a quote in the mail. All the info was as we discussed. The crew arrived on the set up date. The crew was polite and respectful. Drops cloths were in place to protect my rooms. The windows were installed, the unexpected rot to the sills was repaired and the windows look amazing. The house was all cleaned up and you would never have know the trucks and the crew had been here at all. I had a couple of questions after they left and Rob got back to me to answer all my questions. I would recommend him highly.

We have worked with Calnan's Energy Systems in the past for an insulation project in our attic and were very happy with how the work turned out. We recently had a single wooden shingle fall off our house siding near the roof during a storm and were looking for someone to replace it. Since it was such a minor job, we were worried about being able to find someone to come by. We gave Rob a call to see if it would be something they would take on (even though it's not necessarily their typical work), or if he'd have any suggestions for who to call. Rob was extremely responsive - I sent him a picture of the shingle and where it was on the house, and he stopped by the next day to nail it back into place. He really went out of his way to help us with it when most others would have stalled for such a minor job - very appreciated! We definitely will continue to work with Calnan's Energy in the future.

I have been hiring contractors for 40 years years and had a lot of disappointments. I expect excellent work. Rob and his sons at Calnan's Energy Systems, were very clear and not only explained everything start to finish, but delivered over and above what I expected. Finding a fair, level headed, personable and professional people (company) like this made my life so much easier. He and his sons went the extra mile to make sure things were done safely and correctly. Any changes were discussed with me during the job. They were very respectful of my home and left it in fine condition. This is a contractor you will not have to call back for repairs or fixes on your original job. A rare find indeed. Feel assured this is likely the right company if you care about the job being done. Also, Rob found a major safety violation at my furnace and thanks to his attention to detail and overall observational skills he encouraged me to correct this right away. We were never able to use our ground floor bathroom in winter because it was so cold. On really cold days the pipe to the toilet would freeze. Rob clearly explained what needed to be done and they took the time to thoroughly fix the problem working in tiny spaces. He is punctual and his estimates are accurate, but most importantly he does a quality job. The bathroom is now totally usable all year round. I wouldn't hesitate to use him again and recommend his service.

Rob Calnan worked with my roofing contractor to make sure both companies were working in concert to provide me the roofing, insulation, and venting solutions to achieve my goals. Rob took the time to explain the science behind the insulation options for my house/situation and the specific details of the work. Rob and his crew (his two sons, Jon and Robert), were always on time, professional, and courteous. They really know their craft and take pride in the work they perform. They were very thorough and I could tell the work they did for me is of the utmost quality.

Rob and his sons are truly remarkable craftsmen. They showed up on time, and let me know what was planned, worked hard each and every day they were here, and masterfully repaired our outstanding issues. Our house was uncomfortable this past winter, and so Rob came and went through all of the places that contributed to the coldness of the past winter, and he was patient as he explained everything. They were able to start soon after the estimate, and got everything done on the contract in a really fast time frame. We are really happy we hired them!

Rob was very responsive to all our questions and was very patient with our decision-making. He was happy to provide references, who had nothing but good things to say about their experience. He presented us with two options for insulation - and ultimately recommended the less expensive option. Overall, it was expensive (more expensive than we had anticipated) but you get what you pay for. The work was clearly high quality. We had the old insulation removed first, and we were not 100% pleased with the cleanliness of the removal, so we contacted Rob. He talked with his team and we were satisfied with the improvement in cleanliness the rest of the project. We have already noticed that the house feels warmer and are very happy with the result.

This was our second time hiring Rob Calnan and his sons for insulation work at our home. Rob and his team are thoroughly professional. They coordinated seamlessly with the roofing contractor to schedule the work and gain access. They arrived early and were completely prep'd and ready to start work when the roofers were finished exposing the area they needed to access. They worked efficiently to install cellulose insulation from the roof-side in a difficult to reach area of cathedral ceiling. After packing the space(s) with insulation, they did a thorough clean up and left the affected area in condition for the roofers to complete their work. The price was fair and reasonable. The work was high quality. We give Calnan Energy Systems our highest rating. We couldn't be more pleased. We recommend Calnan Energy Systems enthusiastically to anyone needing insulation work at their home. Hire Rob and his team - you won't be disappointed.

The insulation job was through and it appeared that it would be very effective this winter (the true test will be when we get a North East storm). Highest praise for Rob and his sons; the way they conducted the work, were personable, arrived on time, and cleaned up thoroughly.

We used Calnan’s Energy Systems for three long-overdue jobs on our home and we are very happy with the results. Rob and his sons arrive on time, work diligently throughout the day and, when they leave, the place is cleaner and tidier than when they arrived. They are a pleasure to have around and Rob always takes the time to explain what is involved in the work, how he is going to approach it and involves us in any last-minute decisions that need to be made. We were freezing in our old drafty house until finding Calnan's. Rob came when he said. He knew how to insulate areas many other energy companies had said they could not help us with. He gave us a fair price for all the work, and kept us well-informed as work progressed. Today, outside, it's single digits. Usually the kitchen would not be above 60 degrees in the morning. Because of the insulation, this morning it was 68. Also, they're nice people and do great clean-up when they leave. We're very happy customers.

Rob Calnan insulated my roof by blowing in cellulose. He and his crew were great: always on time, personable, did the work efficiently and cleaned up meticulously. The insulation made a huge difference in keeping the upstairs of my house cool in the heat of the summer. I would highly recommend them.

Very professional job. The owner really knows what he is doing. His installation crew did an excellent job and were very professional. My heating bill has been cut almost in half. Had this job done 5 yrs ago by a different company. They were cheaper and did an awful job. Hired Calnan's to do the new insulation work. They were more expensive AND, they did the job right. Couldn't be more please.

Rob and his team were great. Rob explained what he thought was happening and broke out the work into three phases. Depending on where the pipes were and the kind of access he had to them, would determine the full extent of the work. He clearly broken done what need to be done in each phase and why and clear priced out everything. He and his team were professional and efficient and they did great job. The tub has not frozen once so far this winter. I'm very pleased and relieved.

It went as well as it could. Rob and his crew were able to come out on nearly a moment's notice (it was the roofer's carpenter who accelerated the schedule faster than anyone else wanted) to install insulation while the area under the roof was accessible (that is, before the roofer put on the new roof) - avoiding the need to drill holes or otherwise disrupt the roof. Later Rob's crew came back to install Thermax / Dense Pack for the main part of the roof. It is a very labor-intensive process and part of it can be a little tedious. Rob and his crew take great pride in their work and work on your house as if they were working on their own house. The house is noticeably cooler with all of the new insulation and I am looking forward to lower heating bills this winter. If we have future insulation needs, I will definitely hire Rob and his crew again.

Rob and the crew did great work! They are very professional and keep the place around them as clean as possible while they are doing their work. The work lasted two days and boy I can feel the difference! Right after the job is done, the temp on the third floor dropped a lot. Hopefully this work will stop the ice dam issue that I saw last year. I will strongly recommend Rob and his crew for any insulation related work!

Well, the answer there is complicated. We had not one, not two, but THREE false starts to the project, due to vermiculite being found, and subsequently, the need for an HVAC company to come and fix some duct work... however, Rob and his crew were AMAZING the whole way through. They were so understanding and accommodating with every twist and turn that was thrown their way. Our attic was an enormous project, and by the end, the work they did was nothing short of perfect. We felt an immediate difference in the house after the work was done. I can't thank these guys enough for the work that they did, and for taking the time to do it right.

I called provider twice. No return phone call or email. . not even to say they were too busy to take on work at this time. Totally disrespectful. Maybe they're getting swelled heads from their great reputation on Angie's List. After having others look at the job I need to have done, turns out it's a big, expensive job. Too bad for Calnan's. They missed out.

Original job was to punch holes in the ceiling in the room below the bedroom and fill the cavity with cellulose. This job was done professionally and I had no complaints. Unfortunately, this did not solve the problem as the 2nd bedroom floor over the cantilever section was still cold to the touch the next morning after a cold boston night. Rob and team rescheduled and came back to drill holes from the underside of the cantilever section fro the outside and sure enough, it was still hollow. For some reason, the original builders sectioned off the overhang portion, which should not have been done and was why the section was never properly insulated in the first place. Rob filled these sections with cellulose. He was very professional and did not charge extra to complete the job even though it required another multi-hour visit from his team. They genuinely cared about fixing my problem at the agreed upon price even though the job was more difficult than originally thought. Would highly recommend his team for future work.

They completely lived up to their reputation, and that was in the snowy winter of 2015. I had a tight schedule with another contractor doing work on the 3rd floor stairs, with an about 10-day window before my tenant was due to give birth, so Rob and sons fit us in and stayed late to get the work done. They cleaned up meticulously every day. Rob was a pleasure to deal with and I highly recommend Calnan's Energy Systems.

Used an ingenious system of custom cardboard tubes to help with circulation. They were very honest, knowledgable, careful, and thorough. We will call them back to do the insulation in the walls. The house felt like a brand new house after they were done

Rob was great to work with. He recommended a comprehensive solution for my attic and his crew did a really terrific job. Rob has one dedicated crew and one or more of his sons are always on the job. They went the extra mile to keep our living space clean by covering everything in sight, laying drop cloths, vacuuming, and even wet mopping floors before leaving each day. Throughout the job, Rob answered all of my questions and even gave me some great advice on some other home improvement projects. Our attic is now clean, well-insulated, and a great space for storage.
