Description of Work: I was concerned about damper function for a damper installed 2 owners and 40 years back. The two techs immediately spotted the problem, old mortar that had fallen when originally placed to land on the back of the damper. They made quick work of it, fixed it, no extra cost, then proceeded to a cleaning and visual inspection. They showed me the site of a prior chimney fire, told me the chemical to buy for weekly prevention to further clean the chimney - and converted me to their company, their services and its honesty. I will see them back in a year - something I had not done for too long. And referred them to a friend with chimney problems - who had similar experience with a different team from the company.

Description of Work: I was quoted $225 - %10 Angies List discount for animal removal from my chimney. They arrive on time and got the dead squirrels out in less than an hour. They presented me with a bill for $400. The justification for the hire price appeared to be that they didn't like the smell. When I complained they cut the price to $300. I was left with the impression that they charge whatever they think that they can get away with. I will never hire them again.

Description of Work: Inspection. Service person was hard to understand. Only recommended $4,400 of work for each chimney -- discussed no other options. I got (& paid for) a second opinion from Chimney Guys in Peabody and was much more satisfied. More knowledgeable and he found a solution for one quarter the price.

Description of Work: Chimney was relined--multiple liners for the different fireplaces of a two family including exhaust for gas hot water heaters. Chimney was in bad shape and exhaust had been leaking back into basement. Leak discovered by Mass Save. Fireplace works well now and exhaust is fixed.

Description of Work: Matt looked at the chimney and wrote up a list of items that I need to fix. They were professional and I would recommend them to others.

Description of Work: Initially I was pleased they returned my call quickly and came out for an estimate. They discovered additional work that needed to be done. They scheduled a date and came out and did the "additional work" but left right after without finishing what I had hired them to do. They installed z chimney cap that blew off 2 days later because they never bolted it down. They said they couldn't finish the work we hired them for(replacing brick and sealing brick) due to impending rain. However after rescheduling for them to finish they never showed up for the scheduled appointment. They came two days later to fix the brick AND seal the brick even though we were scheduled for a heavy rain storm that same day. I was very disappointed the previous reviews were good. But there was no excuse except for carelessness that the chimney cap blew off. We were lucky it didn't hit anyone or damage the property. Additionally they never showed for a scheduled appointment just not professional.
