Boston's Best Chimney

I had a leak around the chimney after one of those heavy rain storms in January. I called and we set up an appointment for today. Matt thought the problem was due to cracks above the roof line. He gave me a quote and was able to do the job today thanks to the great weather. The workers were great. They were very efficient and left the property exactly as they found it. I highly recommend them.

Quick response from office as well as technician. Arrived on time and completed work quickly. Final invoice was actually less than original quote as some of the equipment was not required for the job.

They were prompt, professional, polite and had their list of recommendations and prices ready for us before they left. As a team they were efficient and particular about their work. We were so impressed that we asked them to return in the fall. Like the spring they arrived on time with a copy of their original recommendations and completed all their work in the time allotted. We could not have been more pleased. Any future work we will call them.

The work was done on time, very good quality - however, this has only been 6 months, so for a masonry work a short period of time.

The technician apparently arrived prior to the 8am appointment time when I was at the bus stop with my kids. The technician did not contact me via cellphone to alert me of his arrival. I waited at home from 7:55 - 9 am and called the main office at 9:15 inquiring as to the whereabouts of the technician and was told that he had been by the house, but no one was home and he left a paper in the mailbox. I made the appointment for 8-9am specifically because I knew I would not be at the house prior to 8am as I have to be at the bus stop with my children. The technician should have waited until the 8am appointment time or should have had the office contact me if he wasn't successful. I will NEVER use this company again & I would caution others that even if you have an appointment window, apparently you are expected (but not told to) be home before the appointed time. The operator in the main office, unfortunately, had to experience my frustration as I was significantly late to work because the technician didn't wait until 8am. I will now have to make another appointment with another service provider and take time off of work for them!

They responded right away and was prompt with getting me an estimate. They were very responsive and gave me multiple options of fixing the issue. They came out did they work rather quickly and it was done exactly how they said it would be done. You would never know anyone was there, they took down an entire chimney and you would not even know. They did a great job cleaning up after the work and everything looks great.

Andrew was great! He originally came for an inspection and discovered some problems with the flu for a boiler. He explained all of the issues he saw and gave good advice, even when it meant less work for him. He returned later to install the locktop damper and patch up a few issues in the other chimney. The work was done well and for less than the original estimate. Andrew took the time to explain everything when he was done. While the initial service date was a ways off he managed to get the work done a few weeks early by coming over after finishing a different job earlier than expected, I really appreciated his flexibility.

This was a big unexpected expense, the problem did not show up on our home inspection. BBC is very professional and made our chimney safe again after what appeared to be a handyman special rebuild (they found wood and an old milk bottle in the chimney!). BBC matched the brick nicely to our brick cape and now the chimney draws really well. Very happy with the service and professionalism, I highly recommend this business.

Very quickly! The technician inspected my chimney both in the basement as well as from the roof. Found it to be in very good shape and left. Explained when I should re-inspect and was on his way.

Boston's Best Chimney was a pleasure to work with! The office staff were friendly and responsive, returning calls promptly and being easy to work with regarding scheduling. Chad and his assistants came to our house and gave us an estimate. I was impressed with the thoroughness of their review of our chimneys and with Chad's knowledge. When it came time to do the work, Chad and his team worked efficiently and cleanly. They didn't get the rest of the house dirty and always took off their shoes when walking through the home. They showed up on time and kept me informed of their progress throughout the day. The work was completed as they explained in the estimate. I would highly recommend Boston's Best Chimney and will use them again next year to get one of our old fireplaces back in working condition.

Excellent job done, the caps were replaced and the work was done efficiently by Andrew and Bones. The work was less than originally estimated and they reduced the price so that it was fair for the work performed. I had great communication with their office and they were very easy to work with. A++++ for these guys, use them!

Everything went well on both dates. Rich and his crew arrived on time, were courteous, efficient and professional. I was especially pleased that Rich took the time to explain everything in detail to me. They left everything clean. I was totally satisfied.

Although there were some mishaps during the tile removal, I was very happy with the work that Best Chimney did. They did a great job overall.

It went wonderfully. The crew showed up on time, stuck to the plan, and did the job as described and as quoted. Despite running into a hiccup on the way, as might be expected in the old houses around Boston, which resulted in a longer job than expected, Richard still kept the original quoted price and got the job done. The crew cleaned up the area nicely as well; the area looks far and away better than it did before hand. Also, to add, we are a condo association, and as expected when multiple parties are involved, we had many questions and took a little time to come to an agreement on getting the work done. Richard was patient and answered all of our questions, and explained the job very well. This made us feel more comfortable than other chimney services we spoke with. Our pipes are now much more efficient and are sure to be one less worry for us in this old house of ours. We are very grateful to have found the hard working crew at Best Chimney to help us take care of our collective home.

We had a great experience. They were the only company we got an estimate from that actually went on the roof to inspect and not just looked from the ground up at the chimney. They were good to point out all the work to be done and were very good communicating what they saw. They were the most expensive out of all the quotes but not by much and the estimate was more thorough. Kevin who did the estimate seemed very knowledgeable, he also did all the work. They were ontime and cleaned up any mess they made.

We were totally satisfied with our experience with Best Chimney, from the owner's timely, reasonable and complete proposal, to the outstanding services of Kevin and the other workers. He is an extraordinarily professional craftsman, who really cares about doing his job to the best of his ability and to the full satisfaction of the clients. From the moment that they showed up on time, they took extra care with the work as if the chimney and the house were their own. When I mentioned my request for a certain kind of masonry primer coat separate from the final coat, Kevin was completely agreeable even though that was not what he expected and it meant extra work, extra materials and inconvenience of waiting until the primer dried (I appreciate that they did not adjust the price for that extra coat). They applied the primer with a roller and then brush to cover all areas. The masonry repairs to the chimney and crown as well as the brick replacements were done with special attention. Between the repairs and painting, together with the new full sized raincap, the chimney now looks new and is the most attractive aspect of the exterior (when before it was the most unsightly). I only wish my experience with other household service companies was as trusting and of such high quality as my experience with Best Chimney. The irony is that other highly rated AL chimney companies suggested that the chimney needed to be completely rebuilt. While such rebuild may have cost twice the price of Best Chimney and lasted 25 years, I will be pleased if the completed work lasts 15 years as expected given the quality of the repairs. Best Chimney solution was just so much more sensible than any other one.

Advised that I need to replace the liner for the furnace chimney. Also gave suggestions as to why the draft in fireplace seems to have disappeared, causing smoke to come into the house when the fireplace was in use.

We purchased a Chimney Inspection deal through Angie's List and had our chimney inspected. As a Realtor, I've seen many inspections in my time and I was pleased with how thorough and complete the inspection was, how the results were presented and the numerous photos provided. As we suspected given the age of our home, we needed a new liner for our chimney after the inspection revealed many issues with the old clay liner (or lack of one in some spots). We made an appointment for a new liner and the interaction with the office to set it up and along with questions I had were always responded to immediately and they took the time to find out answers if they didn't have them off hand. I highly recommend them and it appears that many others like them too because my only complaint is they have so much seasonal business that we had an 8-week wait for our liner installation.

It was very good. They did very well. They were very thorough and they fixed what other people did incorrectly. We were able to use the fireplace this winter.

The work was satisfactory, don't have any problems with the chimney so I can't complain.

Quick and very clean and did a great job. They provided all the details on additional work that needs to be done in the next year or so to prevent damages and larger expenses down the road (much of which I had an idea needed to be done) and provided tips on when to schedule and how to get deals based on the work needed. I would absolutely use them again and plan to schedule the remaining work done by them soon.
