Don't believe they gave me a complete or quote t all

Howie was great. He showed up on time to give a quote and on time for the work. He hung a television for us and also, as a last minute request, hung up and installed several light fixtures for us. He's also a very nice guy with a great sense of humor. We will definitely hire him again!

In short, Howie was great. We had a number of projects all over the house and Howie was able to help us with them all and more. He is professional and highly personable. We appreciated the extra time he spent understanding all the tasks before he began the work and his dedication to completing each job to our satisfaction. We came to especially appreciate Howie’s professional background and vast knowledge as he was able to help troubleshoot a number of other repairs, educate us on the issues and offer a number of potential solutions to each.

I purchased 2- 2 hour big deals, that is 4 hours of work. Howie communicated well at first. I delayed having Howie come out because I didnt have all that I needed - then we miscommunicated. I then allowed time to go by - - a year later he was very responsive and still honored the big deal. . He has a big truck with a lot of materials with him -though I was prepared with most everything that needed to be replaced. Howie did a great job. He seeks a lot of input from the homeowner to please them. Apparently Howie is a licensed contractor that refers to not take on huge projects at this time. So he knows his stuff- electrical, plumbing drywall, etc etc. I was very pleased and I have requested estimates for more work. I gave him mostly As but a couple of Bs just because of our miscommunication. He wants to understand everything you need done and he wants to make sure that you have everything that is needed before he comes to make sure to use his time well. He charges extra for parts he supplies.

In April I bought the Angie's List special offer - couldn't contact them to get the work done. Their voice mail was full and contacts through Angie's List didn't get responded to. I asked Angie's list for help, and eventually asked for a refund. Angie's List refunded the money.

Howie came out and ripped siding off the corner of the house that revealed rotted wood from water damage. It appeared that the ants had not infested the area, thankfully. He also took a look at the upper gutter that revealed water damage behind it. He put up Tyvek and old boards over the corner area temporarily. I paid him approximately $250 for his opinion, and Howie said he would be able to do the work for us. However, he then "fell off the face of the earth." An incomplete estimate came in at an extraordinarily high price, and my subsequent phone calls and emails went unanswered. If Howie did not want the work, I would have appreciated his saying so, as the delay cut into other summer project scheduling. You lost my confidence and endorsement, Howie!

I called for an estimate on replacement of rotted wood trim and exterior painting. I understand that this is a very busy season,but even a phone call to say he was overbooked would have been helpful.

Howard Simon was a critical resource in our Winter 2015 survival kit. In our first winter as new home owners just this Oct. 2014, we were quickly challenged with a historical snowfall and everything that comes with it. Ice dams, damaged exterior, burst pipes/water damage, electrical issues, structural issues and general fixes. Howard Simon was always there in a very dependable way, such as morning of Super Bowl (fix damaged/exposed exterior) and burst pipes on snowy sat evening. He always brings a systematic and holistic way about his delivered product. He is quick to solve problems with a preventative yet cost effective result, which is simply the way Howard does business. Essentially, as if he was fixing his own house with the attention to detail and thorough completion. Howard Simon's handyman services are those people look for years to find and trust with their homes. Luckily, we found him 3 months into our home ownership.

They did an okay job. There were no additional charges beyond the big deal amount. I would recommend them.

Great! Howard showed up the day after I called and did a great job. It was a small job, but I will use him for other work in the future.

He was very responsive. He came the next day to look at the job and wrote everything down. He was very professional. He was well educated and knew a lot of information, and knew what he was doing. His work was very good. He did come back when I asked him to because I wasn’t happy with something, and that was very good of him. There was something wrong with the vanity and he told me he wouldn’t charge me for something, and then he did charge me for it because it was a hassle to go to the store. That didn’t sit well with me. Overall he was decent. I would use him in the future for certain things.

He's been good. I would give him a high recommendation. He's on time. He doesn't do a sloppy job. He cares about his work. He cares about the outcome. He takes pride in what he does.

He was able to handle multiple different tasks and that is what I appreciate about him. He was flexible and diversified in the projects he helped me on. He will be coming back again on projects that needed supplies. I liked him so much. I had no problem paying him because what we agreed was 4 hours but they did more than 4 hours. Their price was reasonable for the work they did.

Howard was extremely professional from start to finish. He provided a very detailed quote before we initially started and kept me up to date if there were any changes to the quote. He finished the job in three separate days. The doors that he installed look great and he walked me through all of the process of installing the doors.

Our house is built on ledge with limited basement space. The eating area of our kitchen sits on crawl space and the [presumed] access opening to the space had a wood covering that was rotted and needed replacing. I contacted Howie to ensure he did this kind of work, which he does, and so I purchased an Angie's List deal for two hours of handyman work. Howie came by to look at the project and decided he could do the work then-and-there. (WOW. You never see that happen anymore!) Howie removed the rotted wood, at which point he discovered that there was a false opening there -- it had been cemented up, we presume at the time that the crawl space was rebuilt due to termite damage 12 years ago. Taking off the wood revealed a mess beneath it, and so Howie applied a cement adhesive and then the appropriate surface that was in keeping with the rest of the foundation. He made it look good again! He will be returning to apply paint when it sets/dries. Howie was personable, honest, and efficient. While he was at my house he gave some advice regarding drainage improvement and he agreed to order, paint, and replace two sets of rotted shutters. The experience was stress-free.

I thought the offer for 1 hr for $80 was good - however there was additional fees that made the estimate to be $240.

I did not actually use Simon Brothers because the price is a lot higher but also I have to say they were kind of like we got an estimate for both roofing and windows from them and the roofing when we went to actually do something about the roofing he couldn't get his roofer. His roofer was not available because he was too busy. So, we couldn't do it through him, but when we did the windows we asked for a final price. He did spend time with us measuring all the windows, but when we asked for a price, he promised it to us and we finally got it a couple of months later and by that time we'd already gotten a quote from someone else. But, his price was like three times the people we went with and when we told him we weren't going to go with him, he really wrote us a scathing email saying that he just felt he had been used, etcetera. I've been wanting to write a review but hesitant because I hate to say something negative. But, we just felt that number one, the price was so much higher. My husband didn't feel like he was really doing the work that he is just a middleman. My husband has been in the construction business in commercial construction and that was he sense that he got that this guy wasn't really doing the stuff himself. We were just taking it back because when you're getting an estimate and playing on a job, you have to put the time plus had he gotten us the estimate when he originally told us he was going to give it, we might have gone with him because we didn't have anything else, but he was so negligent in getting us the estimate that we went with somebody else who we were very happy with. Would we go with them? No, absolutely not with the experience we had with them. Like I said it's unprofessional email. I wouldn't recommend them.

Howie is personable and we were very impressed with his professionalism. He tracked his work and costs and provided a detailed receipt after every work day. Most importantly, we have high confidence in his breadth of knowledge. He knows how EVERYTHING works! In lieu of replacing a whole exterior irrigation fixture/unit, he determined the problem to be the thickness of a small rubber ring. In the end, we needed the unit replaced for other reasons, but Howie is willing to find creative, well-crafted solutions. My husband is very particular about the work done on our home and Howie's work stacks up!

The Simon Brothers contractor performed quality work at a fair price. He presented cost-effective lighting solutions, and was very accommodating, when we asked to add work to be done, or changed or minds about something. We're looking forward to having more work done in the very near future.

The service was fine; they were good. They were excellent, timely and very clean.

Howie was professional and efficient. He did quality work and I would certainly use him again.

It went very well. The area needed many new replacement parts and Mr. Simon had drop what he was doing and go out to purchase the items as needed. Because of this the length of time of the job and the price of parts, the price had to increase beyond the estimate. The project ended up taking twice the time he had expected. Mr. Simon and his employees are very knowledgeable and thorough. They are also very pleasant to deal with.

Did not return my calls for an estimate!
