Terrific!!

I can't say enough great things about O'Brien Paving. I contact John with a request for a quote for a new driveway and the next day I had a detail description and price. His price was competitive with 2 other quotes that I received and he could schedule it for 2 weeks later. His crew showed up exactly when we scheduled. They were neat and professional and done within about 4 hours of starting. All in all....just a fantastic job!!

The crew removed the old driveway and enlarged it to fit 2 cars. They were fast, professional and clean. Highly recommend.

I got them from Angie's List. I was extremely happy with them. He was very competitive with the others but I was just more impressed with him. His professionalism and his equipment was all spotless which probably would have impressed me as well. He takes care of it. I have a friend of mine who actually owns a company but he was too far away to do this for me. He gave me what I should be looking for in an estimate and his was right on target with O'Brien so I went with him. They're very good. It took days to get back to me but with all things considered, the job was fine.

I let a voice mail earlier today and quickly received a return call from the owner this afternoon. He was very professional and knowledgeable. Unfortunately, I live quite a distance from him and he told me that his travel costs might put his price higher than other bids. I appreciated that he was honest and upfront with me. They have a term for that....its called integrity. I may not be able to work with these folks but I would highly recommend them based on my brief experience

I contacted John to get an estimate for re-grading/re-paving our driveway. John responded quickly to set a date to come see the driveway. We set a time and he never showed up. He was set up to come up on Saturday from noon to 1:00. I waited until 2:00pm. I e-mailed him to say that I needed to head out and was sorry to have missed him. I never got a response. I understand in construction things don't always run on a perfect time schedule, so I can excuse not showing up. Not responding to an e-mail though is very disappointing.

John O'brien came out a few days after I called him and asked what I wanted to have done. I went over the driveway with him and showed him some additional things I wanted to add. He wrote up an estimate and told me he was scheduling about 2 weeks out depending on the weather. He called me 2 weeks later and told me his crew would be out the next day, May 23rd. His brother showed up at 7 am the next morning with the crew. He went over the job with me and they got right to work. They had the old driveway removed in @2 hours, then removed some of the sand found underneath. They then put down stone mix and used the vibratory roller to grade and compact it. Then came the first layer of asphalt. When they were done with that, he told me that they were going to have to wait to put on the top layer of asphalt because of the upcoming rain. I was kind of disappointed that they would not be able to finish the job in one day because of the inconvenience for me of not being able to park in the garage at the end of the driveway, but they explained to me that the rain would ruin the driveway if they proceeded and I understood. The following week, they returned on Tuesday the 28th and completed the job adding the top layer, as well as a small berm that I had requested. They taped off the end of the driveway and told me to wait 4 days to drive on it. Driveway looks great and it was nice to see when it rained last night that it was graded the right way as the water went where it was supposed to, away from the house. Overall an excellent job!

No job was performed, as company never returned my call requesting a quote.

There price was very good but when they put the new driveway in they took out the head of one of my sprinklers and covered it off with asphalt. I felt they should have seen that when they were prepping the job. So I was disappointed with that but they did reimburse me for the cost of the sprinkler, repair, They’re not terribly responsive to phone calls and it will take a number of days for them to get back to you. That said the job seems to be of high quality except for the fact the summer has been so hot I have had some problems with the driveway being gouged when the car drives over it and turns. John said that he would come by and repair that damage when it cools down and I hope that he follows through on his commitment.

Great job. John was very prompt in getting back to me regarding questions and starting dates. The crew was great very courteous and did an outstanding job. They did a great job keeping the street clean and passable for the day they were here.My neighbor and I had our driveways done at the same time so it was a much more efficient operation for the company.I felt that we were given a good price to have both driveways done at the same time.I would recommend O'Brien Paving to anyone looking to have their driveway done.

The work was done well and the guy was easy to work with. I really don't have any dislikes about it. They did a good quality job.

John and his crew were excellent to work with from estimate to completion. By far, he offered the best price around and really knew what he was talking about. He and his crew were punctual and very professional. They cleaned up completely and there were no problems. John went out of his way to be sure we would have a new driveway before the snow arrived. I have highly recommended O'Brien Paving to many others since and I will continue to do so!

Job went smoothly. Job was quick and there were no issues. Price was right. I would use them again. Driveway looks great.

The thing that I liked the most was the punctuality of the service and he was very committed to the job. He did a pretty good job.

They were very responsive, they were a professional operation, and their price was very good. They stuck to their schedule, they were fast and efficient, the finished product looks amazing, and I was very happy with it. John, the owner, is very responsive and easy to work with. The crew is very professional and you get a great value. I would definitely recommend them.

We made arrangements for it to be done the weekend of the 4th while we were away. When we got back it wasn't done - apparently the asphalt place had been unexpectedly closed. No problem, we rescheduled. Then it became extremely difficult to get hold of them to pin down an exact date - many days of frustrating telephone tag. At one point their voicemail was full! Not a great way to run a business I would have thought. When they cam though they did a great job very efficiently, including removing a crumbling concrete pathway down the side of the house. It was hot so we didn't park on the driveway for a full 5 days to give it chance to harden up. We were a bit nervous given some of the other reviews but our neighbor, who recommended them, said they are responsive to clear up issues, and right now everything looks fine. So they get a 'C' for the frustrating telephone tag, but an A apart from that. I'd use them again.

I didn't buy anything. They were very responsive, professional and punctual. I will use them again in the future.

Arrived as promised, did the job quickly, paid them and that was it. However, after the asphalt dried, noticed some "holes" in the driveway, as well as what looked like tire marks. We did not park in the driveway from 11/9 (date service performed) until 11/13 (basically, Monday to Friday). Began calling John on Wednesday, 11/11 to tell him about problems. Stated he would come out the next day (mix up there, I thought am, he meant pm) I called to find out the status of his arrival, said he would come out the next day. On Friday, I called to confirm his arrival, never heard back. Left several messages from Friday, 11/13 until today, 11/18 with no word from John O'Brien. I am now left with a flawed driveway that will no doubt see some serious issues once the snow and ice begin. Was looking forward to working with a company that guarantees their work 100%. Unfortunately, I still am.

I was impressed by John's and Brian's (his brother) professionalism on the job. They both know how to do the job the right way, and they exhibit pride in their work. All members of the team (6) worked together to make this job go quickly and well. From first meeting with John, to completion of the job, I could not be happier. My neighbor (who shares a small part of the driveway) is also very pleased with the quality of the work.
