Jason was professional, seemingingly honest and didn't pressure me to proceed with the project.
Description of Work: Jason came to my house and made a detailed presentation to seal the cracks in our poured concrete basement and install a french drain inside the basement. Since our basement doesn't get any water in it we didn't proceed with getting the drain and sump pump installed. I may still have him fix the cracks but I'm going to see if I can work on my downspouts and gutters to see if that will prevent hyrdostatic pressure and further cracking.

My houses foundation sits on ledge with a grade towards the house. Naturally there are water issues, namely in my bathroom where the foundation meets the ledge.I was hoping to get some sealing done around the outside to stop the water from coming in. After a thorough inspection of the problem area. They felt that the most reasonable solution was to install a pump in the area where the water was collecting. They explained a couple options very well and recommended another sump pump be put in another trouble area that they noticed. Although I did not use them for the actual work, there knowledge and expertise were very helpful in finding real and more permanent ways of dealing with the innate water problems of my property. The prices they quoted for the installation of the pumps they recommended were very reasonable as well. I will definitely call them for any other foundation or water issues that may come up.

Very impressed! Jason came out to the house just a few days after I contacted him. What I thought was a crack in my foundation turned out to be a leak in a window and cracks in the paint. He was good enough to provide me the solution (re-caulk the window) without charging me a penny. It's so refreshing to find people in the trade that are honest, willing to help and who come to your home when they say they will! Well done Jason.

Jason and team were great to work with. From the beginning he came out at a time that worked for me to provide an estimate on waterproofing our basement. He was the lowest of 3 estimates but provided exactly what we were looking for w/out the extras and cost associated. We have a large basement and he expected to be here for 3 days. They showed up when they said, accommodated our desired location for sump pumps and finished a day early. They went above and beyond to make sure the yard wasn't distroyed, the pipes were flush, and the concrete was poured perfectly. Overall, we are extremely pleased with the professionalism of Dry Crete and would highly recommend them.

From the very beginning Jason was very professional. We had three different companies come out for quotes and we liked Jason as a person the best. What appealed to us was that Jason (and his crew) was the ones that would be doing the work. He wasn?t just a salesman for the company. We liked this because if we had questions during the estimate he would be able to accurately answer them because he was would be doing the work. He was very prompt on arrival for the estimate and ultimately to do the job. He arrives when he says he will. We liked this because another company we got a quote from came a day late. Not an hour, a DAY! Another reason to avoid the salesman. Jason and his crew did exactly what he said they would do during the estimate and there were no hidden costs. He even hauled away some extra bricks and a broken bird bath at no extra charge. Our French Drain had to go around the entire parameter of the basement so our washer and dryer had to be moved. Jason and his team did a good job of moving them for the work and replacing and re-installing them after the work was done. He even came back after the job was finished to fix our dryer vent with material of better quality then what it was originally installed with. Although we haven't had to use it yet (thankfully), we are very pleased with the final outcome of the product. If there ever is any issues in the future with the drains performance, we can call Jason and he will make it right. All-in-all we are very happy with the work Jason did and would highly recommend him to anyone needing water solutions in your basement. He is prompt, friendly, knowledgeable, professional and always available via his cell during working hours. Thank you Jason!
Description of Work: We were getting water in the basement from the Spring thaw and needed to have a French Drain installed. Water was coming in from multiple areas and a complete parameter French Drain was the only soultion. This involves jack-hammering up the concrete of the basement foundation and installing pipes and gravel that drains into a basin. The basin has a sump pump in it which pumps the water outside, away from the house. Since the pipes are installed below the floor level, it sweeps the water away from the foundation before it can enter the living area.

Description of Work: They were professional, punctual- Jason who gave the estimate was also one of the persons who actually came and did the work. That made a hiuge difference to us- not to just have a salesman "yessing" us to death. We discussed different things that we wanted done- thjey agreed to do them and actually did them without a reminder. Their prices were equal to or a bit better than the other companies, especially knowing theat they were catering the job specific to our needs. They were very clean and you couldn't tell they had even been there by the looks of the outside. Would highly recommend them.

Jason and his crew were a pleasure to work with, completely professional and did a fantastic job. As if coming home from a holiday vacation to find the basement of our new home flooded wasn't stressful enough, we had two very bad experiences trying to gather quotes for basement waterproofing. But unlike the high-pressure and pushy representatives we dealt with at first, Jason was professional, easy to talk to, straightforward and fair. He responded within a day to my request for an estimate, came to the house that same week, provided a transparent and detailed estimate on the spot (after taking some measurements), and left without trying to pressure us to make a decision on the spot. We were very confident in choosing Drycrete to perform the work based on that in-person encounter and the rave reviews. Jason and his team lived up to every expectation. The work was finished in a day and a half, his crew was kind and respectful, he provided frequent updates on progress and left the work areas clean. He also made it very clear when we wrapped up that he was available anytime for support, to answer any follow-up questions, or in case of an issue. But we haven't had to be in touch because the system works like a dream. Through several intense rain storms and the thaw, our basement has stayed perfectly dry. I can't recommend Drycrete strongly enough. If you want a stress-free resolution to an undoubtedly stressful problem, Drycrete is a no-brainer.

The overall experience was great. We hired Drycrete to resolve ongoing water issues with our basement as we had over an inch of water in our entire basement on various occasions. Jason from Drycrete came out and performed free assessment and estimate. Throughout the process, BEFORE we decided to use Drycrete, I had numerous follow up questions and Jason was readily available and almost always picked up the phone; if he didn't he was quick and responsive on the return call. Jason was also extremely patient in answering all of my questions. After everything was discussed and agreed upon, we picked a date for Jason and his team to come out and perform the work. The workers all showed up promptly when they said they would and Jayson was on site from start to finish of the project, he even gave me warning as to when I should expect all of the loud noise from the jack hammers. The work was completed right around when Jayson suggested that it would and he gave me a walk through of the entire project once all the work was complete. It has been around 6 months since the work was completed and we have not had any flooding in the basement. There was an instance where there was a very small amount of water and I called Jayson to check in. He was still easy to get on the phone, and was able to offer suggestions as to troubleshooting where the water was sourcing from. As it turned out, the water was not related to the work that was done, however, Jayson was still eager to help me figure it out and get the issue resolved. I would highly recommend Drycrete to anybody with water issues.
Description of Work: Our old sump pump was removed and the hole was filled. A new sump pump was installed in a new location in addition to a french drain system along the entire side of one basement. A drain right out side the door walking out to our backyard was repaired/replaced, and on the inside of the same door a grate was installed on the floor to collect overflowing water which had previously been seeping under the basement door during heavy rain and wet seasons. All off the concrete that was dug up was replaced and refinished and the sump pump was rerouted through the basement wall and out side side of the house through PVC pipe.

Jason and his team did a fantastic job! It was a great experience from start to finish. Jason explains everything very clearly and is a problem-solver. My (new to me) 100 year house had an odd set-up that was tough to work in and many problems (smelly muck, 14 inch concrete slab to get through, inefficient set-up). in addition to fixing everything, they rearranged their schedule to complete my job and gave me confidence in every step. I would wholeheartedly recommend them. Many, many thanks!!

We were extremely pleased with Jason's (the owner) communication, expertise, quality workmanship, and efficiency in taking care of our basement. They did a great, great job. On a Saturday we phoned to ask them for an estimate. On Sunday eve, Mike came and spent time looking at the situation, problem solving, and making a recommendation. Though their schedule was booked for several weeks, they were able to fit us into a cancellation, and we had the work done on Friday (6 days after contacting them). They invited us to watch and ask questions, and said it would not bother them in the least. When he connected the sump drains into existing drainage pipes, Jason brought all the needed parts, paid close attention to detail, and tested each part of the system before he left. The guarantee is for the lifetime of the house, with transfer to a new owner should we decide to move. His associate, Mike, came out to give an estimate. Since both Mike and Jason do the work (they were both here yesterday for the full day), I had all my questions answered and knew exactly what to expect. They were careful with materials, removed all the broken concrete and rocks that came out of the basement, dug a deep and wide trench, placing 4" perforated pipe, and used a 1/2 hp pump in a generous sump basin. They cleaned up afterwards, leaving the basement looking great. In a few days after the new concrete dries, we'll be ready to use it again without worries about water. We really appreciated having the folks from Drycrete help us with our basement, and recommend them without reservation (and plan to do some future work in the old basement, if needed). We found them on Angie's List, and wanted to write this review to help others.
Description of Work: In an old house with an addition, we have an old fieldstone basement with a sump pump, and a new (lower) poured concrete basement without a sump. The new basement was flooding. Drycrete put a french drain around the perimeter, installed a new sump pump, and also updated the old sump (in the old basement) with a new pump and new drain.

My experience with Drycrete has been phenomenal. Jason is very responsive. He continually ensured that I was aware of everything that was happening knowing that I was anxious about the install and digging up the basement. Not only did he just install the French drain he helped me remove things from the basement that I was not able to take out in time. I was certain that the install would not happen as he was set to start the job the Monday after the major blizzard. But he called on Sunday afternoon and said he would show up. His team helped shovel a path in the snow and worked for two straight days without breaks. I was home for the first day and though there was a lot of noise because of the jack hammering they were not intrusive at all. Everything was clean and they hooked up and moved back as many things as they could in the basement. I am so thankful that they were able to do the job after the blizzard because the pump is currently pumping out water from the snow melt and rain that we've had the past couple of days. The job wasn't completed because of all the snow that was in my backyard so the pipe outside was not fully installed. But Jason indicated that he will return after the snow melts and will work with my landscaper to install the pipe. I am confident that he will respond quickly to that also. Overall, Jason and his team did a great job and I would definitely recommend them to anyone needing to install a French drain.

We lived as renters for 8 years in a house with a truly terrible basement situation and the experience made me dream of owning a house so we could just deal with the basement--make it clean, safe (i.e. inhospitable to mold and mildew), and dry. Waterproofing a basement is maybe not the typical dream project for a first time home-buyer, but let me tell you how very deeply satisfying it is to have actually realized this goal. Our's is an old house with feildstone foundation and like many old Somerville houses, it let the water right in. There was mold in the basement when we moved in and there were wet patches leaching up from the busted up floor. Not anymore though. I did a lot of research going into this because certainly the cost is not insubstantial and we wanted to be sure we were getting the right waterproofing system and people to install it. We met with four companies and two of them made me think we weren't even going to do the project; I was so put off by their hard-sell and their frankly outrageous price tags. When I met with Jason from Drycrete though things seemed realistic and reasonable again. You couldn't want a nicer, calmer guy to walk you through basement waterproofing. Also, huge points for his courtesy and communication--before and after we signed the contract, during the work and even following up from it. We felt that the system installed was right for our house and that it was going to give us the results we wanted. Jason (who worked with his team everyday) and all of the people on his crew, were professional, friendly, efficient and thoughtful. I'm not just being flowery, there was a very considered and considerate approach to everything they did in the basement and the exterior of the house. It was impressive. We were really appreciative of that and, of course, are really pleased with the work that was done. Having the peace of mind against water in the basement and a greatly improved space that is dryer and cleaner to live above and work in, we are really happy customers.

The area repaired was a floor to ceiling joint between old foundation and new. When we had massive rainstorms (twice in 15 years) water came in through this joint. Drycrete excavated the area, injected sealant and then cemented over the entire area. Since the repair we have had some pretty major rains and it has been dry. I can't say yet if the work was a complete success because we have not yet had the type of downpour we need to test it. Based on the work they did, it does not seem possible for water to come in as it has in the past. The company was responsive and reasonably priced and appears to have done a fine job.

These guys met every expectation. This was a "small" job, as nearly as I could tell, from reading other reviews. My home is typical for its age - built in 1978 and sitting on a poured concrete foundation. In 2001, I had contracted with a different company to seal a crack in my basement, emanating from one of the window apertures, and extending all the way to the basement floor. This was allegedly repaired by the two individuals who came, but they left a sheet of composite paneling glued to the repair, so that you could not actually see what they'd done. As it turns out, they'd done very little, and 11 years later, the same problem returned. Hence, my call to Dry Crete. Jason could not have been more attentive, or personable. He showed up exactly when he said he would, and explained in detail what had happened. More importantly, he performed the repair that the previous company had claimed to have already done, with transparent detail, explaining the steps, as they occurred, so that I had a complete understanding of the process. He even found an additional crack, much smaller, which he took care of as a courtesy. It's nice to know that you have someone's complete attention, when you need their services, even when the size of your problem isn't very significant, from their perspective. Small headaches are still headaches, and Jason understood that.

Working with Jason of Drycrete was one of my best experiences with a contractor. Most importantly he listened. I lived in my house for nearly 30 years. Under certain circumstances, a very large volume of water can travel below ground and enter the basement in a very short time. I had experienced going from dry basement to 6 inches+ of water in less than 15 minutes with a 1/2 or 3/4 hp sump pump working correctly. Most recently I added another pump to keep up with the volume on occasion and to provide backup in case the existing pump failed. BTW, sump pumps always fail in during a crisis, and they are never on sale then even if you might find one. I had endured the problem long enough. I wanted a system with sufficient capacity. Drycrete was the only contractor who did not try to talk me out of having two sump pumps, and did not try to talk me into buying battery backup. No battery backup system proposed would last the duration of power outages we have experienced in my town at this house ( 7 days ). Even without power outages, it could take days of pumping after a storm before the water table would return to "normal" The size of the trench was important to me for two reasons. I wanted to be able to capture the occasional huge volume, I also wanted easy clean out. I liked Drycrete's 12" wide by 16 to 18" deep trench, with 4" pipe leading to the sumps. In the course of preparing the basement I discovered many plant and tree roots had invaded the cove of the basement wall which was constructed from field stone. A clean out was a necessity. Jason evaluated the discharge strategy. I had never experienced a problem with freezing. Other contractors suggested an atrium drains for a problem that didn't exist in my situation. The suggested atrium drains would have been placed in a location where they would have collected ice and snow from house eaves. The existing discharge exited the house underground. It was probably the only part of the existing system that worked well. Jason did not press to start the job ASAP. He called after the initial consultation to see if I had any questions. Ultimately we had several calls in which we discussed details of the system or questions that had occurred to me. For example, he agreed that stone and dirt removed from the trench could be used to fill a large hole next to the driveway rather than hauling it away. Ultimately, I decided to hire DryCrete. He called the day before the job to remind me that he would be arriving early the next morning, and the approximate time of oprrival. He initially estimated the job to take three days maximum. The job took 1 1/2 days. No debris was left at the job site. We have not had weather that really stressed the system since it was installed . However, the pumps have turned on on occasion that indicated the water table has risen. The basement is drier than it has ever been since I have owned the house. If Angie's system allows. I will report on the performance of the system when it does get the inevitable stress test.

While waterproofing a basement is expensive, it is priceless to have a company like Drycrete Waterproofing that you can trust and does quality work. From the very beginning Drycrete waterproofing was amazing. Our sump pump failed due to Storm Sandy. We called Drycrete who responded very quickly to our phone call and helped put our mind at ease. During the process of installing our sump pump, Jason walked my husband through each step and invited him down to see the work in progress. He was always willing to answer any questions and did so in a very clear and knowledgable manner. Drycrete also went above and beyond in helping us put a claim into our insurance company. We will definitely be returning customers!

Jason, one of the owners and the foreman of the team as well, came out promptly to provide us with an estimate, and looked hard and carefully at the requirements of the job. He did not give a cookie-cutter analysis but really attended to the specifics of our basement and land contours. More than any of the other four companies which came out, we thought Jason best perceived and made clear, with excellent reasons, what had to be done. He did not try to determine what we thought best and parrot us but made clear his own ideas, which we agreed were better than ours or the other contractors' ideas. He did not pressure us to take him but relied on his reasoning. In addition, we were also assured by the fact that he would be the one in charge, on the job, during the whole day. On the day he did come out - there was about a three-week or so wait, in part because of the Thanksgiving holiday and in part because he is in demand - he arrived promptly at 8:30 with a crew of five or six, and with all the material he needed (which was extensive). They did the job in about seven hours, no breaks, and no need for them to return.
Description of Work: We asked Drycrete Waterproofing to come out and determine how best to keep our cellar dry. This in the end involved cutting out trench around two walls of the cellar, putting in drain pipes and a sump pump, re-concreting the basement floor that had been cut out, and installing an exit pipe for the sump pump.

After calling 5 foundation repair companies, I chose Drycrete Waterproofing. They weren't the cheapest (nor the most expensive). Jason was extremely professional. He was the only company that noticed a crack around the gas pipe (it was small, but with time, could grow larger). He was prompt when he came to give me the estimate and called when he promised to set up the appointment. I was pleasantly surprised that he also worked on Saturdays! He told me up front that he would be bringing two guys with him, but he would also be there while the crack around the gas pipe was filled. He fulfilled all promises. Jason was a pleasure to work with. I felt he was honest. He even helped me out with something that was outside the scope of his work. He also called after the job was completed to make sure we were satisfied and to let him know if we had any questions or concerns. There is also a lifetime warranty on the job and product. I would recommend Jason and Drycrete Waterproofing for any wet basement issues.

Jason returned calls promptly, came when he said he would, and recommended a new pump setup and larger battery for backup. He is pleasant, professional and knowledgeable about the systems and we're much more comfortable with the new unit he installed. Despite the duct taped, broken plastic pieced pump he pulled out from the prior company's work, I was also impressed with his professionalism through it all in not making any negative comments. He also took it upon himself to improve the flow of the pipe originally installed so it not only flowed better but improved the unsightly exposure on the outside of the house. He showed us how to test the pump and all the parts and explained all we needed to know very well.
Description of Work: Had a prior company install a basement waterproofing system in 2003 and due to nightmare experiences with prior company needed to find someone new to service current issue. Currently had battery back up pump not working so called Jason.

Left an email to get an estimate and Jason called to setup a time. He was quick to call back and adjust the appointment due to Hurricane Sandy and gave me priority since I was one of the first effected. Communication was always easy and punctual throughout the whole process. He came out and went through the basement install in detail. He explained how it worked, where we would place the pump and cleanouts, and how the install would go step by step. We also looked at the drainage problem with the entry walkway but I decided to think about what I wanted to do. We later came to agreement on the walkway estimate over email. All the work took 2 full days. The team was hardworking and kept a clean jobsite from start to finish. This is a serious amount of work jackhammerring and digging and moving countless buckets of heavy earth and stone. I had flirted with the idea of doing the work myself and am extremely glad I didn't. I would have ended up calling them to finish what I started anyway. Jason was always courteous, helpful, and accomodating when I needed to borrow a jackpost, when the plumber who was doing work that required tight coordination couldn't come by until day 2, when the walkway we thought was 3 inches ended up being 6 (a lot more time jackhammering and more stone to fill). They came, jackhammerred the perimeter, dug out the trench for the pipe and hole for the sump pump, installed the dry cove, filled with stone, layed the pipe, covered with stone, and cemented it clean. I was home both days taking pictures and checking on the work as it progressed. I am very happy with the professionalism, hard work, and final product. The walkway came out great too. It was more work than expected and required a bit more stone as well. Jason and his guys took it in stride and got it done. I told Jason if he needed to adjust the price slightly to let me know but he wouldn't have it. I highly recommend this company do to the fact that they were communicative, professional, clean, more than fair, and flexible to adjust to slight changes and obstacles on the spot.
Description of Work: Job 1: Drycrete installed approximately 94 linear feet of interior perimeter drain with sump pump in my basement. This will alleviate the hydrostatic pressure that was causing the slab to crack and water to pool up during heavy rains. The slab was thin and the soil it sits on dense like clay. Block foundation walls. Job 2: Drycrete jackhammered the cracking concrete entry walkway that had heaved and pitched towards the house causing water to drain and pool at the foundation. They did some grading and laid down crushed stone so now the water will drain more evenly.

The overall process was painless and fast. The team spent a few hours jack hammering the basement floor then bucket by bucket carried out the debris and loaded it into their truck. They laid the PVC/drain, laid a layer of gravel then cemented over the gravel. Jason then showed me the exterior drain pipe configuration and walked me through how to test the pumps. The team is meticulous and very hard working. Would highly recommend.
Description of Work: Jason and his team installed a French drain system in our basement. They were professional, fast, courteous and did an excellent job cleaning up!. would highly recommend Drycrete. They explained in detail the process and were very patient in answering my thousands of questions (which is not a reflection at all on Jason's ability to explain the process but was more a reflection on me just making sure I understood). They took the time to show me every step of the process which was nice.
