I called Jason Kaye of Drycrete Waterproofing a couple of months ago because I was worried about water in my basement. We agreed to do the work in the spring, but moved the date up because of the large amount of snow this February. He called me to let me know that he was working for another customer in Belmont on Sat, Feb 28th and wondered if he might stop by on the day and installed my sump pump also. Since he had several workmen with him, he was able to do the work in only 1 hour and half. It usually takes twice as long. He suggested lining the pump barrel with stones and leaving the top open so that water could filter down through the stones and into the barrel instead of only through the opening at the top. He also supplied me with a length of flexible hose to extend the exterior pipe so that water would drain well away from the house. Mr. Kaye was professional, knowledgeable, and accommodating. The work was well done and they even cleaned up afterwards. The price was less than others for the same work. I have already recommended him to my neighbor who came by to ask about having the work done. He spoke with Mr. Kaye and inspected the work to his satisfaction.

Jason was great about accommodating my busy work schedule. He came after work, in the early evening, to give me a quote on the work and then was willing to schedule the actual work on a Saturday morning when I could be there. Jason was very thorough when he gave me the quote and walked me through what he thought was needed and why. He also gave me a fair quote that was less expensive than two others that I received. Several days before Jason was to show up to do the work, we had a huge snowstorm. I was concerned that he would cancel and reschedule but he did not. Not only did he and his crew show up, but they shoveled a path all the way to my basement without expecting extra pay for this inconvenience. Then, they worked efficiently and did a terrific job which involved not only putting in the french drain but taking out shelving and a sink and moving some of the pvc pipes. Whenever I had a question, Jason went over what he was doing and why. He never hurried me or made me feel like I was asking something stupid. He was very professional. I highly recommend his company.

The pump kit to be used on the project was not clearly referenced in his written estimate. I called him back to verify which brand of pump would he be using. After I got the information that I needed from Jason, I went online and did some research and that took me a little while to get back to him. The work is scheduled for February 20, 2015. Will come back and update this review with how the gig went. Update: 2/19/2015: Feb 18th was the day of install. Jason and crew of 5 arrived on time. Installation went very smoothly. They had to shovel through 4 feet of snow to get to the bulkhead to gain access to my basement. Jason and his crew were extremely committed to the job and worked flawlessly with each other during the various phases. The initial quote was for 2 days. These guys finished the job ahead of schedule in just one day! My basement slab being only ~1 inch thick as opposed to 4 inch with reinforcement may also have contributed to early finish. But I would still call Jason's crew as being very efficient. Very satisfied with the way the work was performed. I would definitely recommend Jason's Drycrete waterproofing solution to those of you who may need his services. PS: One high recommendation for Jason would be to incorporate plastic sheets as dust barriers to shield basement belongings from getting masked with fine dust from the digging.
Description of Work: Jason came out to review my floded basement. He assessed the scope of work and left a written estimate for me to review. No push to get back to him by certain date or the orice won't hold.

Stellar service all around. Very professional and exceeded my best expectations for cleanliness. There was no mess left and hardly any dust. Jason took the time on every visit to make sure all work was detailed and described to me with why they were doing what they were doing. On time, easy to work with, super professional installation, cost less than anyone else with a similar rating and I felt at no point was I being fed a line just to get me to pay more. The fact that the work was completed with hardly any mess at all (just a light film coating of dust from cutting through the concrete all around the interior of my basement and garage?.I could not be happier. I can't imagine a better experience and am grateful to have found Jason.

On time, looks and works (more importantly) great. Even went to some extra effort to tie it into my old french drain system and move the sump pit out of the way. Exactly what I wanted and should work (early results are very encouraging) so much better than my old system. I'm going to sleep way better when it rain at night now :)

Firstly, not only did Jason show up on time for our initial estimate, he actually called to see if he could come early. He was very through and knowledgeable about the process and let us ask all the questions we needed without rushing us. He put together a quote quickly after the first visit. We actually did not get any additional quotes. We had read such good things on Angie's list and his quote was less than we expected (I put $6500 but I can't remember what it was exactly it may have been a few hundred less) so we just went with them. While doing the work, the crew showed up on time everyday with Jason always there. They finished the work in the time quoted and there were no surprises. We wanted to wait until we had a few storms before giving a review to make sure everything was done well. Now that we have gone through a few heavy rains and snow melts, I can say that the basement is completely dry and the sump pump (and french drain) is working as we had hoped. We ultimately want to finish the basement but didn't want to do it unless we knew it would remain dry and not get moldy. We have full confidence now that we can finish it without worry. Jason and his crew are great and I would recommend them to anyone looking to make sure they have a dry basement!

Jason is extremely professional, very knowledgeable. We spoke to two other vendors, he gave us educated information about what we needed and what we didn't need. He was also the best priced. Others said "if you let us come out again (after they came for the initial estimate) we can give you additional discount." Jason is no frills, no gimmick guy who just wants to help you fix your problem. They started at 7am and were finished by 3pm. It was a great experience with these guys. 12/12/14 FOLLOW UP Angie's LIst should give you the option to give a vendor an A++. We just had a record breaking storm. And unfortunately our basement did get flooded. It was not a pleasant experience, but the flooding was due to other factors at the top of our foundation in the walls. Thankfully we had our internal drain system put in by Drycrete in the fall. Had we not done that the problem would have been a lot worse than 3". Once the power came on the system pumped all the the water out, basement was dry in the morning. Still Jason was calling us at 10pm at night to talk about the situation, prioritized our situation was back out here 2 days later discussing our options for fixing the other issues in our basement that allowed water in. Great company, great customer service. If only all vendors/service people could be this great...

We recently bought a new house with major leakage in the unfinished part of our basement. After getting many different providers in to have a look we choose Drycrete because, very simply, they were not only the most professional, responsive and prompt, but also gave a much lower quote than the other top rated providers and were very honest about what did and did not need doing. They did not try to over-sell us on anything and were very clear in explaining why they recommended doing or not doing different things to solve our problem. We really cannot say enough good things about Drycrete - the whole experience from quote to finish was nothing but pleasant and stress-free. Jason and his team showed up every time they said they would, were always on time, returned our calls promptly and courteously and took the time to explain everything they were doing every step of they way. The work was done in less than a day and they cleaned up after themselves completely, leaving no trace or mess whatsoever. They listened really well to our request and specifications throughout. The fact that Jason himself goes out on every job and is doing and supervising the arduous labor, rather than just being the quote man, makes a huge difference as well. In short: they were knowledgeable, professional, courteous, hard-working, dedicated and reliable. We're definitely having them come back to do the finished part of our basement for us when we're ready. A++ all around.

The job was done as scheduled, on time, and on budget. Jason was a bit hard to get hold of in the beginning (he's very busy), but once we did he gave us a clear written estimate. Once we scheduled our job and realized it's best to contact him via text message, he always responded immediately to requests for info. We scheduled about a month in advance, and Jason and his crew showed up as scheduled. The job was more difficult than expected (due to hitting rocks) but even though the crew worked overtime he still charged us the estimated amount. He was great in communicating exactly what he was doing, what to expect, and why. We were very happy with the results and our basement is dry!

Jason showed up close to the agreed upon time and got right to work. He had to chisel out a pile of concrete off the sump bucket lid even before getting started due to the sloppy work by the people who originally installed the pit. He was very conscientious about setting up the pump outflow properly so that it didn't look disordered. He cleaned up the space after completing the job and he tested out the sump pump before leaving to ensure it would work properly. Overall, he was quick, thorough, and provided us with quality workmanship. We were even given a reduced price from the original quote. I would absolutely recommend Jason for sump pump installations without reservation.

Jason's assessment and thoughtful analysis of my basement saved me the purchase of a sump pump that would not have solved my problem. He was extremely honest and candid about his analysis which he said was due to surface water, not ground water. All other people that came by in this business said do a sump pump, with basic guess that it was ground water. Jason's reasoning of why he thought it was surface water made so much sense, and I got a great education. Jason's analysis helped me work with a landscaper who is going to do work outside my house to resolve this problem. If it weren't for Jason, I would have ended up paying for a sump pump that I didn't need, and because of him, I am getting the right service for my problem. Too bad Jason you aren't a landscaper as I would have loved to give you the business. I cannot thank Jason enough-- I am very impressed with his honesty and strong values re: his customer service.

I got estimates from several providers, Jason was by far the most knowledgeable - he clearly understood the problem and provided a solution that was far more cost effective than other bids. He was completely honest and clearly was not out to try and do more work than was needed. He also went above and beyond to fix some things he noticed that were not part of the original request. I feel very fortunate to have found Jason - his work and work ethic were superb! I would start with him and save yourself some phone calls!

We contacted Drycrete Waterproofing to install a drainage system in our residential basement and were very impressed with their entire operation. The owner, Jason, came to our home promptly as scheduled. He provided us with a competitive estimate, and accurately identified the time period in which his crew could begin work, and also accurately estimated how long the work would take. In two days, his crew excavated dirt and rocks to form a 100 foot interior peripheral trench, and installed all drainage piping, sump ditch and pumps. The work crew was impressively productive, and left no mess upon completion of the job. Jason was also extremely helpful with follow up calls afterwards to help me think through various battery backup solutions. I strongly recommend working with Drycrete!

I first spoke with Jason to get the appointment and then Mike came out to inspect and give an estimate. To start, I was appreciative that Mike gave me a written estimate within 30 minutes. So often I have a company come out to my house, the appointment takes too long, and then I don't even get an estimate at the of it. So, that was great. When I decided to hire based on other estimate comparisons I was able to get an early appointment and they showed up with a crew to get everything done in one afternoon. Jason was keen on making sure the work was quality and was best suited for our situation. For example, to ensure that any water pumped out the house in the future would drain away from the home he to take the grade into consideration. Rather than risking it coming back inside by have the pump water go the back yard which grades towards the house, and an easier approach for them since I wanted the pump in the back of the house, Jason ran quite a bit extra PVC piping across the floor joists for the length of the house. This way the water will pump out to the front yard, which slopes away from the house. He put the pipe in a spot where it's easily hidden. He did not charge me extra for this even though they used far more material than a typical When digging the window wells they ran into more than dirt next to the foundation (concrete, rocks, who knows what the previous owners did there) and had to work at digging one window well. I need to have a carpenter fix my window frame since it's water damaged, but Mike put in the time to give some exterior patches so I will not have to worry about water getting in until I have a carpenter out here. I'm pleased and am glad to give the work to a local company where the owners are on site themselves.

I contacted this provider based on the strength of the reviews here on Angie's list. Jason contacted me, though days removed from my inquiry. I explained the problem and he had indicated that they would be able to help, but would need to setup some time to come by and provide an estimate. After an exchange of an email where he had sent pictures of completed work, I had asked for a meeting so that he could provide an estimate. He replied and asked for my location so that he could let me know of his next availability in my area. That communication occurred on August 6th and there has been no follow up since. Because there was an initial gap in communications with this provider, I had asked him to provide recommendations on another provider if he was not able to take the job, he ensured me that taking the job would not be a problem and another provider would not be needed. Again, based on the strength of other reviews, I am left to believe that this provider is likely scheduled to capacity. It would have been nice to have received such a message from the provider so I could have moved on sooner.

My in-laws had purchased the house in 1959 and then 7 years after they had purchased it was the first time it started getting water in the basement. We had purchased the house in 2008, had a French Drain put on the outside perimeter of the house. This helped except for when the water table was high then my basement would receive water. I read very good reviews on Angie's List for Dry Crete Solutions. I sent a reply through Angie's List to 3 contractors. I had two show up to provide me with a quote and I really liked the price, Jason's professionalism, that he would be working along side of his team, and the guarantee that he provides with the work that he completes. I called Jason and we set up a time that he and his crew could start the job. Jason and his team show up on Wednesday afternoon to get a head start on things. Jason and his team were going to be gutting out my finished basement since there was a lot of water damage. They worked on this for about a couple of hours on Wednesday and was really impressed with what they had accomplished in two hours. They came back the next day at the time that they had told me they would be in. They had finished in about 2 hours with the demoing and then they started on the jack hammering, filling, and laying the pipe. They had to remove a lot more of the finished basement than they had anticipated because of mold that was in the basement caused by the water damage. They came back the next day and finished up the job. I was very impressed with professionalism of his team and Jason. They would clean up every night before they left. They left my basement more clean that what I left it to them. They did a very nice job on my basement. My husband and I did a walk around with Jason before giving final payment, he was very helpful in answering our questions. He had recommended a dehumidifier for our basement, we are looking into this. He is very quick to respond to voicemails and/or phone calls. The quote that he provided was the final price, even though he had to do more work than he had anticipated. We would highly recommend Dry Crete Solutions to anyone that is looking for a solution to get their basement dry! We are looking forward of enjoying a dry and finished basement for as long as we own our home.

I've owned a 2 family home in Watertown for about 3 years and have dealt with many, many contractors during that time. Jason and his team are by far and away the most professional team I've ever worked with, and I can't thank them enough. Jason is quick to answer both emails and phone calls, came for an estimate explaining all options and all of the work that would be completed, quoted me an insanely fair price (I shopped around), started work on time and finished in 2 days. The job went very well and completed on time. We were very impressed with Jason's (the owner) honesty and knoweldge during the estimate process which made our decision to go with his company. Jason and his team arrived both days on time, kept me informed during the process and did a great job cleaning up the area upon completion. My basement is not an easy area to work with, as I have a well water system but they were able to work with that. I would highly recommend them. The price was very good also based on some other estimates I got. One company, Keller, quoted me just under $15,000 for essentially the same work performed by Drycrete. Overall, I am pleased with the work that was performed.
