Description of Work: The Maids came out and to do some house cleaning for me.

Description of Work: I've hired them twice, about a year and a half between tries. Last time was about a year ago. Trying to hire a new service right now, and realized that others really should know that this company provided pretty awful care. Pros: Nontoxic products, arrived on time. Cons: They caused too much damage and were careless with my house. The dusting was very cursory...did not move anything. Some areas never got dusted at all, e.g., cobwebs accumulated in some furniture legs and lamps and was never touched.. Teams differed over various weeks, and some team members were awful. Specifics: The first time I let them go was after I was home during their cleaning....heard something going "whack, whack, whack." Came out to see what it was...it was someone vacuuming under a chair. The whacking was the vacuum hitting the legs of the chair with each trip under the chair. I let them go after that. Hired them again somewhat later. The second week, a person left a felt pen open on the bed, soaking through the comforter cover and the down duvet. I never did manage to get the green ink out of either piece. I don't allow pens in the master bed so I definitely did not do this myself. They did offer to pay for the damage. How could I get them to believe that the cover cost $200 and the down duvet cost $400? I just told them to forget it. Three weeks later, they scratched the top of my new Wolf range by putting the cleaned grates down near the edge of the stove and then sliding them across the stainless steel into place. The grates need to be set into place, not slid across the stainless top and then allowed to drop in. Duh. They left several deep scratches in the new stove top. I just let them go after this. I did not explain about the damage to the new stove. If they hire people that can do this kind of thing, what is the point? My house is not as clean now, but I am far less irritated. And I am not paying over $200 per week for people to damage my home. A minor point: One time they were here the people were all fighting....my foreign language skills are not good enough to know what they were fighting about. It was unpleasant, however. Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me. I should have known not to call them back. I won't call them again.

Description of Work: General housecleaning.

Description of Work: Cleaned a studio apartment of mine after a tenant moved out. They cleaned the insides of all windows, woodwork, door frames, baseboards, greasy food splatter on the wall by the oven, grubby hand prints on the oven door, dishwasher door, counter tops, back splash by the sink, refrigerator, window sills. In the bathroom they cleaned behind the washer/dryer, got rid of the soap scum in the shower stall, cleaned the toilet and surrounding floor, including the bathroom floor, the mirror, vanity, light switch plates, the lint collector in the dryer. In the kitchen they cleaned all cabinet shelves, the pantry shelves and floors, and the stainless steel sink. It took a crew of three people 2 hours and 15 minutes which is very reasonable given the amount of grime or condition of the three rooms.

Description of Work: I use The Maids for house cleaning. They come once a month. They had come three weeks ago. Basically, how much they charge depends completely on how many times they come in a month.
