Roofing 5/20/2014 $8000 Excellent Job

Very quickly returned my call and came for an evaluation within a couple of hours. Provided a verbal quote. Price quoted was reasonable and acceptable, since the gutter is about 35 feet off the ground and 30 feet long. Promised to do the work before the end of the week; showed up the next day with 2 other workers. Spent about 1.5 hours fixing and cleaning; thankfully no replacement required, just new hangers. We spoke about a few ideas to reduce the potential for this to happen again next winter, but there was no up-sell/hard-sell at all, just very quick service.

It went great. Ralph showed up within days of our contacting him to assess the job and provide an estimate. When we replied with questions/changes about the work to be done, he came over the next day to discuss the project in more detail. He was very professional and seems to really know his stuff. The horrible winter delayed the start of our project considerably, but this week his crew seized on a nice day to get the whole job done. They worked a very long day and cleaned up well after themselves. The two pieces of molding still need to be primed/painted once the weather gets warm enough, but Ralph says they will come back to finish that and I trust him that they will. I only gave them a good on price as the other vendors we contacted never bothered to provide estimates (after saying they would for weeks), so I had nothing to compare it with. But my dad, who's a carpenter, seemed to think the price sounded right. *** Update: Just when we hit mid-May and we thought we should get back in touch with Ralph about the paint, he showed up at our front door and said he was going to take care of it that day. We were so pleased! What a great guy/company to work with.

Quick to respond and come out for estimate. Service was completed as soon as weather permitted.

He was responsible. He charged a reasonable price and he seemed to do a good job.

On December 29, 2013 in the evening we noticed some drips coming through our second floor ceiling. We had work done on our roof during the summer and a new ridge vent installed by a different contractor. After opening up a hole in the ceiling to let the water out we discovered the water was leaking into the attic from the ridge vent. I began emailing every roofer that I could find nearby in the hopes that they would check their messages and get back to me the next morning. It was the day before New Years Eve. A lot of the roofers were off enjoying time with their families. Ralph Burke called and said he would be right out to take a look at the problem. He showed up right about the time he said he would, he climbed up on the roof, diagnosed the problem as an improperly installed ridge vent and recommended the ridge vent be removed and the roof patched up because this type of roof should not have had a ridge vent installed in the first place (I did my own research on this before Ralph arrived and found the same information). Ralph mentioned that most of his guys were home with their families but he might have an employee that could come by the same day to do the work. About 2 hours later, Ralph and his employee showed up and made all the repairs. They provided before and after photos of their work and cleaned up as if nothing had ever happened. His price was fair considering it was during the holidays and a cold day to be up on a roof. I would recommend him to anyone that needs a roofer. He explained everything up front, gave a written quote, and did an excellent job!

The day before Christmas Eve, in an icy driving rain, our roof started leaking. A lot of water was coming in. We had an emergency situation. Ralph Burke came out immediately, diagnosed the problem quickly and patched the roof while the sleet and rain continued. Our problem was solved within a few hours! The price was right and the work was perfect.

Went very well. Work completed in one day. Some previous comments regarding this provider expressed some dissatisfaction as to cleanup. I must say that I had no problems in that area.

Called for a quote on a flat rubber membrane roof replacement. The gentleman said he'd be out to look at the job. Never heard back. Would love to hear if they can help me.

Ralph J. Burke Roofing replaced the roof on our old Victorian house and also replaced our gutters and replaced an existing skylight. This was not a simple roofing job - the roof has multiple dormer windows, and one section (which has had repeated ice dam problems) required a different roofing treatment from the rest of the roof. This provider from start to finish was professional, helpful, and creative (in thinking about solutions to the ice dam problem). He also was very responsive - returned calls and emails very promptly, provided and revised estimates quickly. Most importantly - the job was carried out very professionally. They came when scheduled, completed the job within the time frame they had said, kept a clean and safe site, and left everything in great shape. We would highly recommend this provider.

They put a new roof on our house. They did a wonderful job and expedited it very quickly. It was reassuring to us that both Ralph Jr. and his brother were on the roof working along side their crew, very industriously as well. I would recommend them to anyone wanting a quality roof installation - start to finish.

Mr. Burke's company was recommend to me by my cousin who had previously used Mr. Burke's services. Not only did he use Mr. Burke's company, but several of his wife's relatives did likewise. After contacting Ralph, we met at my home. He examined my house, told me what condition my roof was in, gave me a brochure of various shingles and gave me an estimate. I also need some skylights replaced. Within a week, I called and and hired Ralph. He told me when the shingles would be delivered and when he could start the job. The three roofs and new skylights were done in three days. Ralph's employees were kind and courteous and never left any debris around the house. They even helped my son unload a 4-wheeler from his truck! I am thoroughly pleased and satisfied ,and would recommend this company in a heartbeat.

It went very well. When the work started, it was discovered that my existing roof boards were too brittle to hold the nails for new shingles, so a plywood surface had to be applied to the roof. This did add to the cost of the project but Mr. Burke was as always up front about it and explained exactly what was being done. As recommended, I got several quotes for the job. As all the quotes were in the same ballpark, I decided to go with Mr. Burke, in part because his company had done the previous roof on my house, which lasted longer than expected, and in part because Mr. Burke did a better job of explaining what needed to be done. The job was completed in 4 days, with part of one day lost to rain. Workmanship is excellent and the drew cleaned up well. There was some minor damage but that was due mainly to my not doing a better job preparing the site. In summary, I found this provider to be knowledgable, ethical, and professional. He does excellent work at a fair price and keeps the client fully informed at every step of the way. I would not hesitate for a momenr ro recommend Mr. Burke to anyone needing this type of service. I would certainly call upon him should my roof need replacing again, but the quality of his work is such that I won't need to for a long time.

This was the second roof repair Mr. Burke has done for us on this house. He has been terrific both times. He takes plenty of time to explain options, and his recommendations are reasonable and pragmatic. His prices seem fair, although I have not bothered to get comparative quotes for the small repair jobs. I would have no hesitation about recommending him for roof repairs or installations.

Reasonable price, Ralph is congenial and dependable. He provided us with photos of the completed job, because you can't see the dormer roof from the ground, due to it's being so flat - which is why rubber roof was needed. They provide a 20 year warranty. I have no way of saying now whether the roof will last as long as expected. So far no leaks (which we had with shingle roof), but we haven't had any big storms since the room was put on.

Ralph Burke is very responsive and provided us with a lot of good homeowner education regarding the roof. We are a condo association with 8 units, and several of our units were experiencing leaks after last year's heavy snow. Ralph walked all of the roofs and did a review of the needed repairs and advised us regarding the best approach. His crew came to appointments when they said they would and cleaned up the work area. I would definitely use his company's services again!

A receptionist returned our phone call and said that someone would be calling us when they were in the area. No call back ever received.

Ralph Burke is a very easy person to talk with and appeared to be a very knowledgeable and competent roofer. He gladly answered the many questions that I had and I was ready to have him do my roof. Unfortunately, he made the last minute mistake of asking for payment for the shingles in advance. I found this request to be unreasonable and he did not do the job.

Gave estimate. Began work on time. Made adjustments according to needs. Great all around experience. Would use again.

I have a glass greenhouse style sunroom that, for many years, has been leaking at the point where attached to the roof. Many attempts have been made over years to address this problem with sealing moveable panels, re caulking etc. to no avail. It was suggested that the valley of the house roofing might be contributing to the problem so I contacted a few roofers for opinions on this. Ralph inspected the section of the roof in question and informed me that that the roof looked fine and in fact had a double layer of shingles. He gave quite a bit of thought as to how the problem could be corrected. He suggested installing a piece of metal under the roof shingles to divert the heavy flow of water away from the greenhouse roof. He was very honest in disclosing that there was no guarantee that this attempt would actually fix the problem. At my request he took the time to collaboratively consult with my greenhouse installer/repair person which I really appreciated. I then asked Ralph to go ahead with the proposed solution and since then I have had no water coming in at all. I am extremely happy as this was an inexpensive fix for a problem that has been going on for years. If/when my roof does need to be replaced I will be contacting Ralph.

The job went very well. The crew of 7 arrived on time and finished my large ranch roof in a day and a half . 2 of the crew then stayed behind for a half-day to complete the clean up and remove leftover debris. The shingles were all hand nailed - a definite benefit to avoid shingles that are cracked or too tight from power nailing.

Ralph came on time and clearly described how he would fix the problem of our leaking skylights and small section of roof. He also looked at 2 other minor roof issues we were having on other parts of the main roof. I liked him and his confidence, but felt that his vision of what could be done with the skylights was limited.

I have saved their name for future use as well. They did a great job, it went fabulous. They did the job right, and they did what I asked them to do. I was pleased with the work, and the cost seemed reasonable to me.
