Chipman's and Wallace

NEVER GO HERE!! 1st, the product is junk. I paid $1200 for 8 roller shades that are not finished on the edges at all, and constantly fray. Add to that, the owner lost my deposit check and basically accused me of not having paid, stating that he was the bookkeeper and would know if I paid. Then when he realized it was his error, he told me to "give it a rest", rather than admit he had accused me. Run from this place as fast as you can.

I recently bought a house that had a very large window shade in the front bay window. It is the kind that has a pull chain and clutch. It worked fairly well for a few weeks but later the plastic 'chain' came undone. I brought it to Chipman's for a repair and and to trim the ragged bottom edge of the shade. The trim was fine and the receipt indicated that the clutch mechanism was replaced. They did not provide, offer, or suggest any thing about hanging it. I put it back in the existing brackets but it still did not work. Brought it back and was told it works fine, make this small adjustment in how to hang it and should be fine. Still does not work. Brought it back AGAIN and was given different brackets which fit worse than the original. At this point I am done. This was a total waste of money and time.

He is terrific. He does all of the work himself and we have used him for years. I highly recommend him. The prices are good and they are very knowledgeable about what they do. They are also punctual and friendly.
