I chose Busy-Bee Construction LLC Company for the project out of a few other companies that I had contacted. They were excellent with their quote process. My garage collapsed by the time they gave me an estimate. However they were really nice about quickly changing the plan of action to rebuild it. That was why I really went with them. They even came on a Sunday to look at things and refigure the estimate. I didn’t even ask them, they just showed up with the new estimate, which was nice. They are going to start on the project soon.

The quality of the work was excellent. John checked in daily on the work being done and to make sure everything was going as we expected. Very professional and pleasant to work with. I would definitely hire him again.

He came to my house for an hour, dropped of an estimate of $74,000.00 in the mail box, spoke to him several times on the phone and never heard from him again. How do you think it went?

As a condition to selling my condo, I agreed to a number of repairs for the buyer. The biggest project was actually not for my unit, but for the five unit building my condo was in - structural repair to replace about six feet of sill and rim joist that had inactive termite damage. After convincing the condo association of the necessity of the project, we were very pressed for time in order to have the work complete by the closing date. I got seven quotes and selected Busy-Bee primarily because they had just completed a similar, more challenging project nearby, but was also satisfied with their price (they were the second lowest estimate of all of them). Once we got the building permits, I was extremely impressed by the speed, organization, and workmanship of the workers that performed the work at our house. There is plenty of room for error in structural repair, but they completed the job without any complications and had the work signed off by the building inspector before I had anticipated. So, we were able to proceed to the close on the sale of our condo on time thanks to the professionalism and speed of Busy-Bee. Had we selected a different contractor for the project, the outcome could have been very different!

Everything went very well. I am a total pessimist and very anxious, and I worried that my husband and I would get divorced, and actually there was minimal strife. John was a very good communicator, was at the job site frequently, and always returned our calls and answered our questions. My husband was present most of the time

We had an ambitious goal, close on our house and do a complete Bathroom remodel within 6 weeks before move in. We called around to try and get quotes and most GC's would not even come out to give us a quote once we told them the timeline we wanted. John was not only very quick to respond and come quote, but also willing to work with us to fit is in his already booked schedule. Before we committed to a contract John gave us a lot of information and references and gave us pointers with questions to ask other people that came out to bid the job. John is very responsive and the work done by his crew is top notch. The bathroom came out fantastic. We WILL be using BusyBee again in the future, and you should too!

He was very good, I would have ended up using him except I got a better price. I thought he was very professional. He was right on time, easy to deal with and followed up on me. I told him about another person I talked to and he told what things I should double check on. I really liked him, his proposal was really well done, he put a lot of thought into it. I would definitely recommend him in terms of at least getting a proposal.

We are not motivated to review services very often, but this is a contractor deserving of a review. The new window was a tight fit and was installed expertly. The cellar door required cement work and special handling and was done with great skill. We received three estimates, with Busy Bee Construction in the mid range. We selected John Downie?s company on the recommendation of a neighbor. John kept close contract with Dan Byron, his skilled carpenter, and the work was completed in three short days. All dust and old material was quickly picked up and the old material hauled off to the dump. The work was done on time and on budget and we will consider Busy Bee for future work on our house.

John is a fantastic person to work with, he is very concerned about his customers. His prices are fair, and his workers are fantastic. He is incredibly knowledgeable, and can work on almost any part of a home. He ended the project on budget and on time.

Great attention to detail. All the people who worked on the job cared about what they were doing and were professionals at their job - they were also very pleasant to work with. John kept a close eye on the job at all times. No unpleasant surprises throughout the job and no unexpected increases in cost. Showed up on time everyday. Kept on schedule.
