I had to wait about two weeks for the service after having the estimate done. There was also a discrepancy in price from the estimate to when the tech came out to do the work. They did a good job, however I was not very happy to have to pay more. He was fast and efficient as well.

This is a flat rate company (which they never told me up front) that charges you a fixed amount regardless of the complexity or time it takes to do the job. On top of it, their rates are absolutely ridiculous! They basically wanted to charge me $1600 to connect an existing plumbed p-trap to a garbage disposal (that I supplied) and a drying sink. This is the exact same configuration that I had prior to my kitchen reno. We're talking about a few PVC fittings and 2-3 hours of work tops. That's like $500/hr!! Then of course comes the call to management to try to reduce it and somehow they magically got down to $850-950 to do it. I still told him to leave and gladly paid the required $49 up-front charge to make him do so. He ended up arriving 2 hours early from the previous job. Now I know why. They probably told him and his pricing to pound sand as well. Anyone who's sat through the Renewal by Andersen scheme would find this familiar. This company's owner is a scam artist. They inflate the pricing hoping to either get an idiot to bite on it, and if not, they drop it trying to make you think you're getting a bargain. And with the $49 fee you're more likely to hire them so you don't lose that money because there's a $50 coupon on their site for any service provided. Do yourself a favor and find a plumber that works hourly and gives your their hourly rate up front. Lesson learned.

Did not show up at appointment time. It happened on two different appointment dates. Called them up on the last appointment date to confirm the time frame and yet by the end of the day, no one showed up. Not even a phone call to inform you what happened with the appointment.

Did not have a filter for my a/c unit

Chris was great to work with. Quick quotes and worked with contractor doing the rest of the work to schedule work. I will have him do other projects in the future.

It's been off and on for the last two years. I hired them to install a fireplace gas insert, so I asked and he said they didn't sell them. The President actually came out and measured the fireplace and gave me the dimensions for my order. So, I used those dimensions and ordered one. So, I went to install it, they said it wasn't the right measurements and they said it wasn't the right dimensions it too large. I said I can't return it and I bought it with these dimensions that you specified. They just sort of washed their hands with it and didn't take any responsibility. I had to hire a mason to come modify the fireplace to get it to fit. I felt like they were really responsible. I talked with an organization, and he stated factually incorrect things with his responses to the origination and I was very disappointed.

Excellent! James, the technician, was friendly, courteous and got the job done right. I was very impressed with his professionalism. Would use 128 again.

Great-very professional company (128 Plumbing & Heating). They guided us through the process, helping us receive the energy credits available. They answered all questions, showed up on time, and listened to our concerns. For example, we wanted the drainage hose, connected to the downspout, and they did it. Also they were very careful , very clean, and left the house as clean they found it. I have recommended them to several friends.

I've spent about $10,000 with Route 128 in the last 8 months doing work on the house I just bought. They've done a couple of large projects (new water heater, new electrical panel) as well as a few small projects (inspect furnace, inspect electrical safety in attic). I've always found them to be pretty stellar. Their employees are good communicators, they are respectful, they are punctual, and they do the job well. I have liked hiring them, but I have one very frustrating complaint. I called 128 to remove an object that had fallen into the exhaust vent in my furnace. They quoted me $80 for materials and $50 diagnostic fee & $250 for a half hour of labor. All of that is ok. The problem is that their policy is that you pay exactly what they quote, regardless of the actual cost of materials, and actual labor time. They claim that sometimes this works out in their favor, and sometimes this works out in my favor. The problem with this approach is that it incentivizes them to ALWAYS quote high, especially for a loyal customer like me, who they can guess is not getting multiple quotes. In my case, the actual cost of materials was 50 cents - just one 2" pvc pipe coupling. At our request (and with reluctance), the person who did the work called the office, to ask them to make an exception, and charge us a little less, but the office worker wouldn't budge. I'll consider calling 128 again for big jobs, because I like them, but this policy is nonsense and we are going elsewhere for emergency jobs in the future.

It went well. Except for one minor thing. He expected payment of $59 at the end. I had to inform him that the service was already included with my Angie'sList purchase. He didn't seem satisfied and said he'll check with the office. Seems to be a miscommunication at their end.

Everything went very well.....extremely courteous and professional employees.....would highly recommend them.

They did a great job. I thought they were too expensive. One person came out to do the work. It took 1-2 hours. He left the area very clean. They were punctual, they did a good job, and they were professional.

Very high quality. 128 plumbing also did an excellent job installing a gas heating system for my son (on my recommendation).

I didn't like the job at all, the guy who came out barely did an inspection. The guy showed up on time, I told him the issue. When I shower, there is water dripping to the unit below. He turned on the shower with the head facing straight. He went downstairs and looked in the ceiling and there was no leak. He came back up, pointed the shower head to the wall, went downstairs and looked in the ceiling and there was no leak. So he came back up and said he doesn't see anything and that it probably is the caulking or tiles. Then he left. He was here for 10 minutes, maybe 15 tops. He didn't look at any of the shower fixtures to see if they are loose, or even bother looking at the caulking. I just feel that a thorough inspection was not completes based on the extremely short period of time he was here. Besides, my neighbor and I had already done the exact same thing he did. So he didn't do anything that a lay person couldn't do.

The installers were great - Job took appx 2.5 days to complete including removing old Boiler and Flu vent. 128 Temporarily installed a portable electric water heater while they were doing the work so no Interruption in hot water at all. Workers were very clean - no mess anywhere in my basement or house. 128 Also got us 0% financing for 7 years and did a great job getting thru the Mass Save Rebate process. With the financing 128 arranged I had little or no out of pocket expense for this job.

128 Plumbing came out right away and took care of everything,

Excellent job. Very professional. A little bit too much of a sales pitch when trying to sell me maintenance package, and trying to hide the cost of the package in the price of the service. But I will call them again for my next service. Well done.

service was overcharged and the transformer was burnt again almost immediately after he left. I have to get another heating guy to fix it. He also badmouthed the work previously done by other service people.

Excellent! Prompt, courteous, professional. Very reasonable rates. Was able to accommodate very early service (7am) in fairly short notice (less than 1 week).

Service was scheduled in a timely manner, the plumber was on time to the appointment, everything went smoothly. I had a question after the service and the office provided very good customer service.

After visit in Feb. No one get back to me, called back in March, no call back.

The service was alright. They were fine. I had no issues with them. They came in through a Special Deal with a home warranty company. They did a good job.
