TOTAL HOME IMPROVEMENT

Contractor removed and replaced sheathing and shingles. I treated them right with a Box 'o Joe and donuts in the morning. The following winter, water started pouring through two can lights in the ceiling of the bay window. Contractor came out the next day and removed snow and ice from roof area over bay window, and said he'd be back to fix it when weather permitted. He never returned inspite of calls to his office (home) and cell phone, and a personal conversation as he worked on my neighbor's house (My neighbor said he had to delay their siding job while he awaited proper state licensing for that speciality). He didn't have his own crew, he picked up workers he knew when he needed them. He did have one or two "hangers on", guys who were questionable, who helped out collecting debris. They goofed around and pulled down my gutter by accident. The contractor had me hold out a $100 from final payment, saying he'd be back to replace the gutter. He never did. I was so disgusted with him that I decided I didn't want to see him again and last Fall while I had a contractor doing other work for me, had him redo the work. The new contractor said Total had reversed the overlap, allowing water to seep in. Total Home Improvement turned out to be a Total Disaster. There are plenty of better contractors out there.
