DO NOT USE SEARS HOME SERVICES – My Kenmore Elite microwave oven has been broken for half a year. I have had four service visits with multiple technicians and from my experience it is clear they do not know how to repair the equipment and are simply guessing as to what the cause of the problem is. This company is only in the business of taking your money and hoping the parts they order will actually fix the problem. DO NOT WASTER YOUR MONEY. I highly recommend you find another company with qualified technicians that actually want to fix your problem, not just roll the dice and hope for the best. BUYER BEWARE!

Fine, not a super pleasant experience.

Sears repairman showed up on time, diagnosed the problem and set to correcting it right away. Freezer needed a new defrost sensor, which repairman had to go get, as he did not have specific part in his truck. Repair was completed, frost removed and refrigerator and freezer are functioning like new!

I didn't have any parts and it didn't even take them more than six minutes. So I paid 169 for him to come out just to plug it back in. I would never sign up for this company again. This is how they get you. He wanted me to sign a warranty to get a cheaper price. They haven't even gotten back to me since I called them. I could have had someone else come out for a quarter of the price. This place is horrible.

The give you a very good price, but you have to be there in person to let them in and make sure everything is okay. The water heater had to come in through the bulk head, so I had to go shovel out the bulk head.

The water heater had to come in through the bulk head, so I had to go shovel up a bulk head while other people would have come through the first floor, and then go downstairs, so Sears have a good price, but you have to be there.

Sears Home Service's customer service was rude to me, but even worse than verbal rudeness was the complete lack of organization within the department. I called them for a stove repair and was told there were no appointments for eight days. Waiting was an inconvenience, but I made the appointment anyway because they seemed to be the most cost effective. (I was told they would credit a portion of my service fees towards the purchase of a new oven from Sears if mine couldn't be fixed. That seemed like a tidy deal.) They asked for my e-mail address and said they'd send an e-mail confirmation of the appointment. After six days I realized I hadn't received the confirmation and called back, just to double check. I was told at that point that they had no record of any appointment for me. They insisted it was my error. No sorry. BUT to my luck they had another time available for the very next day, Friday, instead of the original appointment scheduled for Saturday. A stroke of good fortune ! Friday I wait for three optimistic hours (of the 4 hr window) and no show yet, or e-mail confirmation again. I put another call in to Sears Home Service's customer service. Again, they have NO record of an appointment scheduled for today, Friday, HOWEVER they NOW have a record of my first appointment scheduled for Saturday. No apologies, they say, the only appointment I've ever had was this one, for Saturday. I hang up in despair of my sanity and with soul searching realize I could use another provider. I don't have to take this. I call and cancel the Saturday appointment and schedule an appointment with a non Sears repair company to come by. Within an hour I received a nice call from a Sears technician who is on his way over for my Friday appointment, the one I'd been told I never had made. He is the most sympathetic of all, but I've hired someone else already. No communication between A, B, and C.
