We have republic as our normal trash service which has been fine. We scheduled bulk item pickup with them . We were told the items would be picked up on a Wed thru were not. The next day we called and they said they were a day behind so it would be picked up on Friday. Friday came and it was not picked up. We called and complained that it wasn't picked up yet, they told us they would credit us 20 dollars towards the charge. They finally picked up the items 5 days after it was scheduled, we just received the bill and there was no 20 dollar credit plus they decided to add on 22 dollars in surcharges that they never told us we were going to get charged. We even had to confirm the price with them and at no point did they ever say there will be add on administration fees or add on fuel service charges. Be wary of republic since they are not straight forward with charges and they do not seek to follow through with what they say.

Good god, if it were possible to give negative stars I would. I called around for trash service last year for my new house, and Republic was the cheapest by about $25 per quarter for weekly pickup. Don't believe this for a second. First off,they lumped on multiple account creation fees, like "container drop off" and "administrative fees" that totaled about $30. Then they repeatedly raised my rates without notice - over 25% in the first year, to the point where they're not even a good deal anymore. When I called to cancel, they tried to charge me a $50 "container pickup fee." Avoid this deceptive company like the plague.

My collector is fantastic. He is wonderful and always goes out of his way to help us. They have a good price.

Very good service. Friendly personl and reliable service

The service itself was not bad at all and the guys doing the collecting were very nice but the prices rose nearly $20 over the few quarters I had them so I called to cancel and the fun began. First, I had always received an e-mail with my quarterly invoice when I realized in the last quarter I did not. When I went on line to discuss my account with the rep, I saw I was 2 days overdue but figured I could just take care of everything at once. I first said I wanted to cancel and was told we could work out a better rate - like the previous review said, if you can give me a BETTER rate then why have you been raising my rate every quarter?? I don't like doing business with companies that work that way so I said no thanks, please cancel. I was asked if I wanted to finish out the month I had paid for and I said no - so right off the bat you figure that I just saved THEM money! I said SPECIFICALLY I wanted to pay everything I owe right there and then on the phone and settle my account. I was told the amount, charged and told everything was all set - never believe that. First off I was told when to put out my containers for pick up which I did - they sat out there for 2 weeks before anyone arrived (the guys on the truck even stopped to try and empty them but they were, of course, already empty!). I then received an invoice for a credit of $80 something dollars so I thought they were going to refund me money (hahaha). I figured that was the end but the next month I received a new invoice for around $20 for the pickup of the bins AND a $2.99 late fee!! I mean come one, how unprofessional can you get? The pick up fee was never mentioned when I cancelled, nor was any late fee when I supposedly had paid in full. The sad part is the small financial hardship we had passed almost immediately and we're looking for a trash service again - I told Republic straight out that we'd never use them so I hope that $20 was worth losing a customer for life.

The actual work was fine, no complaints. However, when I began pricing I found a contractor for half the price. I called them and they were willing to cut their price in half. But then the thought entered my mind if you could charge me half the price, then why have you been gouging me all these years so I went with the new company. They said they would charge us $15 to pick up their container - well they never charged to deliver it and there is nothing on their website stating that nor did we sign any contract agreeing to any 'pick up' charge. Rip off for sure and unprofessional.

Most weeks they do a good job. However they have missed two or more pickups in 15 weeks which is unacceptable. Even worse, I saw them put stacks of recyclable cardboard boxes and paper directly into the garbage truck. We had piled the cardboard and paper that was from our move (100 flattened boxes and flattened white packing paper) so it was perfectly ready to be recycled. We are sticking with the service because it is part of our rental contract, but I strongly recommend against using this service.
