Rich provided estimate of work to be performed. He described what and how it would be done. His estimate was the best of the three obtained. After giving him the go-ahead to perform the work, he was on site four days later. Rich kept me informed as to when he would arrive with his equipment and he promply arrived when promised. All work was done in a professional manner, minimum disruption to traffic, etc. The tree was cut down and brush removed expeditiously. The work area was cleaned up and raked. I was very satisfied with this experience working with Greanleaf's Tree Service.
Description of Work: Approx 60-foot maple tree damaged in Holloween snow storm, as well as some adjacent piled up brush were removed.

We never had satisfactory results to have the trees removed from 2 other sources we checked with, so I turned to Angie's List since I wanted this done before winter set in. I called Greenleaf' s due to good reviews posted. Rich at Greenleaf's returned my call promptly and came out to give an estimate the same day he called. Due to the October storm we had, he said it might take 3 weeks before getting it done. We were pleasantly surprised when he came out a week later on a Monday to do the job. The crew did an excellent job and left the yard looking as it did originally , with all debris removed properly. I was impressed with their promptness in returning calls, the work itself, and also their followup. It was a well done job and we would use them again if the need came up.
Description of Work: We contacted Greenleaf's Tree Service to see about having 2 felled trees cut up and removed from a wind storm in June 2011. They removed the trees 2 weeks earlier than they estimated and left the property in great condition. The follow up phone call was a plus.

Fantastic job! Completed in half day. Cleaned up as they cut and yard was cleaned when they left than before they started. No damage at all - even though there was much to be careful of. Polite & diligent workers!

The Halloween Nor'easter brought down a tree in my front yard plus heavy branches and some poplar trees. I emailed/called several places looking for estimates and Rich, the owner, contacted me the next day. We met for an estimate and the work was done the following week. The crew arrived on time and did a terrific job. Removed the dead tree and branches, trimmed around the stump of the tree and worked around some hanging wires. They cleared the driveway where the chipper had been so there was no sawdust or debris when they left. I'd definitely call Greenleaf's again.

We called Greenleaf's tree service to ask for an estimate on some trees we wanted cut down and removed. Rich, the owner, came over right away and provided us with a very reasonable estimate. He was very polite and professional during the estimate process. When we decided to use Greenleaf's, we called and received a call back that night. As scheduling was busy for them, they gave us an approximate week that they would be over with the promise of a call the night before. A few days before we had the trees cut down, Rich called to say which day they would be over. Sure enough, the night before, we got another call to confirm. Rich and his crew were right on time and said they would be here approximately five hours. The crew was very methodical, neat, and professional while cutting down the trees. They actually were able to get the whole job down in four hours!! After the crew left, we went to check everything out. They did an amazing job! We couldn't believe how they really cleaned up all the debris. You would have never known they were here if it wasn't for the huge amount of trees we had cut down! The whole crew worked together quickly and efficiently. You can tell that they take their job seriously and how well they work together! We plan on calling Greenleaf's this week to have them back to cut down a few trees we lost in this past storm! We would recommend Greenleaf's to everyone!

Although I didn't use Greenleafs Tree Service, or even receive a quote from them for the work, I was impressed that they promptly returned my call, whereas the majority of the dozen or so tree service companies I contacted failed to get back to me. Granted these other companies were probably busy assisting other customers, but communication is important, especially when there's no prior business relationship and the only indicator of quality of service is the time it takes for the provider to respond to an inquiry/request for quote. If I find myself needing tree services in the future, I will definitely give Greenleafs a call.

Rich took us around and pointed out which trees were the most dangerous and why. He showed up exactly on time for the first appointment, but they couldn't get a crane up our narrow, twisty private road. He said they would have to climb (many other services don't), and came back two days later (early!). They took down five trees in under four hours -- one of them a poplar over a hundred feet tall leaning over power lines. And do they ever climb trees -- don't watch if you have a fear of heights! Without a crane, some lawn damage was inevitable, but they kept it to a minimum and cleaned up well when they left. The entire crew was knowledgeable, intelligent, professional, and up for a challenge. These are the guys to call of you think that you may have a difficult situation.
Description of Work: We are in the middle of the woods with many trees surrounding us, and we dreaded every ice storm or even strong gust of wind. We wanted some peace of mind for the next storm and wanted several of the closest trees to our house removed.

They are good. For the most part I had a positive experience with them. They were able to come out right before we had a hurricane come through here. So we had an emergency and they absolutely responded very quickly. They were able to take down the things that were really an emergency and then they came back and finished the job about a week and a half later. I guess I paid a little bit more than I wanted to, but I understood why I did. They did cause some damage to my lawn and they were not within the best. They are nice guys. I will use their services again in the future.

We had part of a very large maple tree come down during a storm (Irene) and needed to have the remainder of the tree assessed. We called Greenleafs and Rich returned our call within a day (despite it being a very busy time for tree service) saying he could come over within a half-hour to check it out. Rich arrived as we were cleaning up the debris from the downed part and took a look at what was left. Though he said there was probably no immediate danger, he explained how the rest of the tree might come down. We asked for an estimate to cut the whole rest of the tree down, and he left us with that to think about it. Later that day, we called him to schedule a time to have it cut down. Since he would need to schedule with another company that had a crane, it took a few back-and-forths to schedule the final operation, but he came back with a crew of about 5 guys plus the crane operators the following Saturday. The whole operation took about 3 hours. They were able to take down this very large maple tree, close to our neighbor's house and with branches through and around the street's power lines, with great care and skill.

I called for an estimate and Rich the owner called back promptly. He left me with a written estimate and reference info. Later that day he called and offered to do the job for less money if I wanted the job done right away. I told him I would check references, check insurance paperwork, and talk to the crane operator before I agreed. When I called him back the next day he didn't know if he could do the job that Saturday due to other committments. He did stop by my house and check placement of septic and sprinkler systems. He told me he would have to go back to the original price he quoted me thou. He did call me Saturday morning to say he could be there in the afternoon. The job was done professionally and timely. He showed up on time and the entire job took about 1 1/2 hour from start to finish. He cleaned up the lawn beautifully. My only complaint was the fact that he didn't honor the original lower charge and when I tried to use the 10% Angie's List discount he said he already applied it to the original estimate. I would recommend and use Greenleaf Tree Service for future needs.

Rich is very responsive with his communication. Since it rained, he did not want to do damage to our property with the large cranes coming into our backyard. He kept us updated as to when he would come. The 4 trees were all technically difficult to get to since they were growing in a downward slope from our house. After the job was done, there was no obvious property damage from the large cranes. Overall, I am happy with the results.

Everything went so easily. He came out to give us an estimate the same day that I e-mailed him through Angie's List. He showed us that a second tree was dying. We gave him the job and he came the next day to do the work. He even gave us a price break after we ok'd him to take out the second tree. This was the day before Hurricane Irene hit, and we were grateful to have those trees gone since they were close to the house and power lines.

Rich's estimate was reasonable. Due to the size of the job and the need for a large crane, he contracted with Northeast Tree. Despite finding an unexpected soft spot in my yard resulting a need to access the yard from a different point, the trees were all removed very efficiently and massive amounts of limbs and trucks were consumed by a very large chipper. The larger trunks were removed later in the evening. Rich and his team returned the next day to clean up the yard. They filled in the hole and replaced the garden frame and filled it with loam. It was a huge job, in my mind, and I was very pleased by the professionalism of the men working for both companies. I live on Baptist Pond and Rich was also very respectful of local conservation rules. He requested that I check with the Conservation Commission about set-back requirements.I highly recommend Greenleaf Tree Service.

This was the second time we used Rich's company, and we, once again. were very happy with the service. The first time was in spring 2009 to prune trees that were damaged in the ice storm. Rich scaled several trees as requested since they were inaccessible otherwise (other tree companies just wanted to cut them down). At that time, they picked up all branches and debris, and cleaned the yard so that it looked better than before the job! In spring 2011 we had Rich back to do a much bigger job -- remove several large trees and clear some areas in the yard. This time he brought in a crane. Again, the service was excellent. Rich came back later to clean up the debris after the stump grinding. We really appreciated Rich's attention to detail as we have had damage done to our property by other tree companies. We will definitely use Greenleaf again and again.

They arrived a little before 9 AM, a crane and a small work crew. It was a tight spot for the crane, electric wires close behind and to one side, and one of the biggest trunks literally within an inch of the roof line. The trees were on the far side of the house, so the crane operator could see only their tops. It looked for all the world as though the trees slowly rose and floated in air. The measured beauty of ballet came to mind. It happens like this. The crane's ball carries a fearless workman to within a few yards of the treetop. He affixes a harness to the tree, then rappels himself to the ground. Immediately, while the harness supports the tree, someone takes a saw to the tree base, within inches of the ground. The tree rises in its harness, majestically, the entire tree, up and over or around the house. Out front, it's tipped nearly flat with remarkable precision and fed to the chipper. Only a few logs were saved to be picked up later by a logging truck. By 1 PM it was all over. The trees were gone, and so was the crane. To do all that in four hours demanded intense concentration, and incredibly efficient, safe teamwork. The workers clearly took pride in doing a first-rate job. It's worth mentioning that another tree service took out a fallen pine several years ago but reneged on a contract to come back for the rest. It seems likely that the difficulty of the tight-spot work put them off. Rich Gamble, Greenleaf's owner, took a careful look, promised and delivered. Fast. Our favorite thing about Rich is that though he's a man of few words, he communicates well with trees and ultimately with us.. He brought no measuring tape for tree diameters. He hugged each tree to his chest, communed with it for a moment, and his lips moved as he kept a running total of cost in his head. He named a substantial price, but refused a deposit. He is scrupulously honest and reliable and expects the same of his customers. We felt very fortunate to have found him. Don Leonard, who came the day after the trees were gone and removed the stumps, was born a storyteller. He's a delightful conversationalist. We could have listened to him for hours. Nevertheless, he, too was fast, efficient, and a very hard worker. Through record-breaking heat, this team did it all with style and remarkable attention to detail. We'd rate them A+++.

I have an old pear tree in my yard that had numerous limbs that were dead. The tree is really beautiful and still produces pears and I didn't want to cut it down if i didn't have to. It is very close to my neighbor's driveway and I was afraid that a dead limb may fall and hurt someone. I called greenleaf's and was more than thrilled with their service. Rich is very professional and kind and was at my house within 24 hours of my call. (He had offered to come to my house within 2 hours, but I was busy that afternoon). He explained to me that the tree was still alive and that he could just trim and prune the dead wood off of it. They were at my house later that week to do the work. My neighbors even hired them to do some work in their yard. I would have never known that they had been in my yard (ie: every thing was cleaned up and spotless), except for the fact that my tree looks great! I would highly recommend them to anyone.

We found Greenleafs through a referral from our landscaper, so we called Rich who came by that evening. We had several tall pines near the house that were dead or dying that we wanted removed before they fell on their own. Rich came out and helped identify a couple more that needed to go. The next day his crew showed up with a bucket truck and chipper and was able to remove a half dozen pines and clean up the debris in a couple of hours. Very efficient and professional service.

After reading several positive comments about Greenleaf's Tree Service, Inc. on Angie's List, we contacted Rich to set up a time for him to come to our house to give us an estimate on a tree branch removal job. Right from the start Rich followed through on returning our call and confirming his consult and job dates and times. Rich and each member of his team were professional, courteous, and approachable. We even received a call after our job was completed to make sure we were satisfied with the work, ...and YES, we were! We would absolutely recommend Greenleaf's Tree Service to our family and friends! Joyce & Bill R.
