From the first contact through the completion of the job I was extremely impressed with A. Fagundes Plumbing & Heating Inc! I called the company looking to have two drain pipes behind my old dishwasher repositioned so the space would accept our new Bosch dishwasher. Mr. Fagundes spoke with me personally about the job and recommended having his representatives come take a look to see if the work was possible. One HUGE BONUS of this firm - A Fagundes does NOT charge a service fee to come and give an estimate. This was something highly sought after as the companies competitors charged anywhere from $50-75 dollars just to step across my threshold to look at the work. I just couldn't fathom paying someone that kind of fee to say "nope, sorry... what you're asking isn't possible." A.Fagundes representatives Sam and Vinny were extremely prompt arriving just before the window that Mr. Fagundes and I had agreed on. They were well spoken and professional talking me through what was necessary while looking over the work to completed. They quickly assessed what I needed was in fact possible and provided me an estimate which was less than I had anticipated. They stated it would be about an hour to complete and after given the green light immediately went to work. As they were completing the work Sam notice an electrical line used to provide power to the old dishwasher was in an awkward spot. He informed me that having had experience with Bosch dishwasher installation that the line might be better served near the back of the unit. So without moving anything electrical he notched the subfloor in a way that allowed the electrical line to fit in a groove so the dishwasher could be pushed back and the electrical connection made more appropriately. This is not something I would have thought about until the dishwasher was re-delivered and installation again started. Excellent catch, Sam! I was fully expecting to pay twice what I was quoted. So to see good work done for a reasonable price was fantastic! Overall I was extremely impressed with the professionalism, prompt ability to complete the work, and the great price. A Fagundes you will be receiving my future patronage for all plumbing needs!

We found that our hot-water furnace was not working one morning and we could not get the pilot light to re-ignite. We called another plumbing and heating company to re-start the furnace, but by the time they came the boiler was leaking water. At that time, it was clear that the 20-year old furnace had to be replaced. The quote that the previous company provided was $15K for a new high-efficient furnace. I decided that I needed to get additional bids for this work. I checked out Angie's list and found several heating and plumbing companies that received good reviews. I contacted A. Fagundes Plumbing & Heating and spoke with Danielle. She was very professional and quickly got us an appointment for someone to come to our home. Al (owner) to came to our home an hour earlier than the appointment (he called first to confirm it was okay to do so). He did a full inspection of the furnace and the rest of the home baseboard heating system and provided us with four options (3 high efficiency furnaces options and 1 identical unit to the existing furnace)..He was very courteous and professional and fully explained our options. After receiving other bids, we decide to go with A. Fagundes. His prices were 20-35% lower than the other bids and I just felt that we were going to receive better service from his company. In a few days, Sam and two other members came out to install the new high efficient furnace. A job that original was thought to take two days was completed in one day. Sam explained how they were going to get the furnace installed and at the end of the project, he explained how the furnace was programmed and worked. All the work was completed on time and the entire area was fully cleaned and put back to its original condition. Sam was also very courteous and professional. My wife and I are very happy with the new furnace and the service provided by Al and his team. We would recommend them to any of our friends or family if they were need of their services.

Fagundes plumbing is great. They were very flexible and really try hard to accommodate you. They came several times over the course of the project. First to remove the existing shower and plumbing, then to install the rough plumbing, and later the trim and toilet reseating. There was a minor issue with the valves not being flush with the shower wall but they quickly rectified it. Overall, their pricing is excellent. However, they do have a new price plan that they just introduced which I think they need to reconsider. In summary, I strongly recommend them. They are great people to work with!

It went very well. It doesn't leak anymore and they didn't have to open up the wall. We are very happy.

I started with a question on Angie's list which as answered very quickly. Once it was confirmed that this company did the type of work I was looking for they gave me a number to call. I was able to schedule an appointment for the next day. This was great because all the other HVAC companies I called said it was their busy season and the earliest possible date I got for an estimate was a month and a half later. The service men were on time and very pleasant. They quickly estimated the cost, ran out to get additional materials they needed and did the installation. They cleaned up and took away the old insulation. Very efficient. Good job. I would use this company again.

We would recommend Al and his team, and certainly would use them again. Al provided us a timely estimate, and was very responsive to all our questions. His estimate wasn't the least expensive, but was competitive. Danielle, the office manager, was always available, responded quickly to all our calls, and helped us with the rebate process. Sam did almost all the work himself. He was punctual, and on site every day to manage the progress of the work. He took great care in installing the new radiators exactly where we wanted them. He also took the time to install the boiler and new equipment in the basement in a neat an organized fashion, which was very important to us due to the small amount of storage space we have in our basement.

Whenever we work with contractors,their response time is one of many important factors to us. Our project was to install a Mitsubishi split-system Air Conditioner. The owner, Al Fagundes, responded to our inquiry right away and was very professional in answering all our questions about this project. He gave us a very reasonable price when he visited us to see our scope of work. Danielle, in their office, was also very informative and friendly. We liked that Al was very flexible with scheduling, which is important to us since we work out of our home. George, who installed our unit, was very thorough and friendly. He also worked very well with the electrician we had chosen. After completion of our project, we were very pleasantly surprised to hear from Al, that since we scheduled our installation after April of this year, Mitsubishi changed their warranty from 7 to 12 years! We look forward to working with Al on future projects.

Completed within 2 hours and cleaned up the mess from the previous leak.

Overall It went well. The price was a little lower than other bids and the communication with the office to set up appointments etc was fast and easy. The guys who came to do the work were polite,professional and so neat. The problem we had was immediately after installation. The system could not reach a target temp of 68 degrees and we didn't know why. The house was freezing(and we had out of town guests). Al sent someone out right away and had them check the system. They tweaked a couple things and said to let them know if it didn't heat. It still couldn't get to the desired temperature.someone else came out and mentioned that we didn't have enough baseboard to provide the necessary heat for the space. It would've been nice if we knew this up front. We didn't get a bid back for a week on how much adding more baseboard heaters would cost. My husbands friend is a heating guy so he and my husband ended up installing an extra 15ft of baseboard Which fixed the issue. The new system is clean and quiet although I wish it was a little more tesponsive(I should've done my homework).

We had called 6 different plumbers to give us estimates for the work we were asking for. Three of these plumbers never even called back. One of my husband's co-workers recommended this company, and we gave them a call. They replied promptly. The owner, Al, is so professional that I felt confident from the minute he arrived that his company would do a great job. He had a complete and detailed estimate for us within a few days. In a week we had a plumber from Al?s company in the house. George was very professional, neat, and courteous. When he came, we also had a problem with the bathrooms sinks that were clogged and backing up, George took care of this problem also. While changing the water cartridge, he was unable to make the old system stop leaking so he installed a new water filter under the kitchen sink. The last two things were not part of the initial estimate but the price was fair and he did a great job - very professional and efficient. I am glad that we ended up going with Al and would recommend his company very highly to anyone.

Al and his team are great! From the first time I met Al through his follow-up phone calls after the installation to see how the system was running, he was nothing less than professional. Further, the members of his team I did meet (Danielle, Nick, Danny and Sam) reflected his professional ideals. The job I hired Al & Co. to do was a big one?a new gas furnace, A/C compressor and all new duct work were installed in my Lowell Highlands home. Al provided a very competitive estimate, which he stuck to, helped me to apply for and receive Mass Save incentives, and finished the job about 1.5 days ahead of schedule. While his crew members were there, they showed up on time, were very respectful of the house and tried to be as neat and clean as possible and were efficient. When they were finished, the basement looked cleaner than it had when they started and the installation looked neatly and professionally done. As a thanks, I offered to buy them all lunch?they refused, but eventually, I got my way :-) All in all, I was very happy with the Fagundes Plumbing and Heating experience from initial phone call setting up the meeting for a quote, all the way to when the system was installed. I did select Al?s Maytag line and have been very happy thus far. It looks like robust equipment and kept the house cool all summer?the system is amazingly quiet, I did not even realize the compressor was running at first! I have no doubt it will perform well in the winter and cut the heating costs from the gigantic ?octopus? furnace I previously had. I would do business with them again for sure, and have volunteered to be one of their references?that is how much I believe in their level of professionalism and quality of their work and the products they install. We hired Al Fagundes Plumbing and Heating to install a central air conditioning unit in our 20-year-old, four bedroom, great room, garrison colonial, in Andover MA. Our history with contractors doing home improvement work has probably been similar to everyone else's, expensive and frustrating. So when we decided to invest in central air conditioning I knew it had all the potential of turning into another home improvement disaster. I took on the task of fully educating myself as to how air-conditioning works (compressors, air handlers, zoning, tons, SEER?s, EER?s, duct work types, feeds and returns, cosmetic considerations, warranties, guarantees, companies with the best ratings for all of the above, Energy Star, AHRI, etc.). We then got 12 estimates for the job. I know this sounds like a lot but a central air-conditioning project is very expensive and has a good chance of going sideways with unspeakable ramifications if you're not careful. We received estimates that ranged from ridiculously simple and inexpensive to breathtakingly expensive with lots of "bling". We had contractors presenting their product like it was fine furnishings and others telling us that we were unable to have air conditioning in several rooms in the house because they were inaccessible. The majority of them wanted to install one gigantic air sucking return for the entire house and many of the contractors wanted to install only one zone for the entire home! The amazing thing is that some of the simplest designs were the most expensive estimates. Feeling relatively well versed in the language and technology of central air-conditioning I made a pot of coffee and spread all 12 estimates out on the kitchen table and compared them apples to apples. Only four of the 12 were well thought out and properly designed systems for my home at a fair price. I contacted all four of the contractors with questions about their design and other questions I had about installation and efficiency. Al Fagundes? explanation of why his design for my house was appropriate and efficient surpassed any of the other contractors. Al Fagundes knowledge of the air-conditioning technology and his concern for details with respect to efficiency were superior to any of his peers. His crew worked meticulously for two weeks to build and install our unit. We now have air conditioning in every room, the proper number of returns, and three zones. We couldn't be happier! His crew was friendly, knowledgeable, accommodating, and always cleaned up before they left for the day. Thanks to Al Fagundes and his excellent crew our central air-conditioning installation project was the most successful project we have had in over 20 years.

Work was completed in Good order. There were some small issues but they were quickly resolved by Sam and team. There was some miscommunication regarding the Angie's list discount and some additional work was required that increased the bill. The job originally failed inspection since the venting of the washer was not in the original plan. The additional 4 hours of worked was billed at $925 which I thought was excessive.

We have used Al for many of recent home improvement projects during the past year, we bought a fixer upper. Initially , we contacted a Al to install our gas stove , dish washer, and garbage disposal. We then used Al's services for a bathroom remodel, installing a walk in shower, adjusting all the plumbing changes to accommodate new vanity and toilet, also to install a new gas hot water heater. Our last project was to line the chimney for for the gas furnace and hot water heater and reinstall an outside faucet. All of Al's workers are extremely professional, polite, and knowledgable!! We will call him again as our plumbing needs arise. His prices seem reasonable for the work he does.

Al has a great crew working for him, professional, prompt, attentive to the customers needs. I had a water heater which was about to fail completely, Al came in took a look and had John come out early the next morning. John was on time, worked quickly, and did a great job. He pointed out an issue with the vent being in contact with more than just the bricks of the fireplace, possible fire issue, and he corrected that. Took the time to explain the tanks operations, hung out to ensure proper water temps at the faucets, cleaned up before leaving. Very satisfied with the work

I got a $10,000 estimate for a new furnace alone from another company. Their pricing was very fair. They were awesome! Excellent on all accounts. They did the work so quickly! I wouldn't hire anyone else!

Very professional and courteous both Al and the two Sam and sammy who did the work. Clean, neat and excellent install.

Arrived right one time... in fact a bit early. Sam and Sammy were very professional... looked at the job then dove right in.... never stopped until complete. Kept everything clean while working including sweeping up sawdust from drilling thru floor. Put in strategically placed shut offs on both installs, tested things and leveled the fridge before leaving. Re-lit the boiler and hot water tank. A very neat and clean professional install.

Fagundes Plumbing was excellent all around. Al Fagundes came out to the home we planned to buy, inspected the plumbing, and gave us detailed estimates for all needed work. After we moved in, he sent two plumbers to do the necessary work, and they came when expected, did good quality work, cleaned up well, and were professional. We later had a leak in a radiator, and they came out within a day and fixed the issue, again very professional. They will be our 'go-to' plumbers from now on!

No help whatsoever! As stated in my follow up call, the service call was in the service area of Lowell. The only reason this vendor data mined my number and called me back was because he gathered it from caller id. j Here are the facts they way I see them, I read the Angie's list profile. I called because it fit into my needs. Before I could finish my sentence, Al Fungundes cut me off to say he could not help me. Yes, I did reply to his rudeness by stating, not sure why you advertise 24 hour support if its not offered. I did disengage immediately to pursue other options. When he called back the next morning after receiving my review, he wasted no time getting defensive when i clarified his misinformation, choosing to recount last nights call, and talk over my conversation. Then complain that I am mirroring his behavior. I have nothing against this man. Angie's list is a venture to review vendors. Here is an account of his behavior. If this is an isolated incident, the how unfortunate that I was the receiver. However, it was my experience. I wish him continued success.

I called Al on saturday after I found the faucet leaking. Al was very responsive being a saturday, I was impresed. he directed me to the piumbing supply stire to choose the faucet. On Monday we schedulked the repair. The two men cam on time during the window provided. they were extremely nice and professional. I gave B for price as N/A as I do not have any competitive price to compare with. Kelly as admn was extermly nice and helpful and was able to schedule and communicate evrything via email.-Great

Gave fair estimate, quick response time, replaced the shower valve with a beautiful Kohler faucet. Good follow up. Will definitely use them again.
