Description of Work: It has been a long journey trying to find a vanity for my bathroom. I was close to Topsfield last week and decided that I would stop by Village Woodworking thinking that the price to get what I wanted would be astronomical but I was shocked when I told the very friendly gentlemen what I wanted and he gave me a price. This would be solid wood, custom made (not imported from China) and installed. Wow, if only I did not need it within the month I would have gone with them immediately. They were so friendly and laid back. This place is great and I loved my trip there. I only wish my time frame was more flexible. Worth the trip and the craftsmanship is fabulous.

 + -1 moreCalled them twice after the first contact, each phone call a week apart once again asking for the quote. Kimberly said she would get us a quote by email that afternoon. Never received. When I called by the next week, Kimberly was on vacation and a man (didn't get his name) said Kimberly had asked him to do it for her and would email to us by the next day. Never received. Going on 3 weeks and no phone call back or no email. Evidently they don't want your business or mine.
Description of Work: Submitted pics by email of some family room builtins. We just wanted a simple quote for the job in writing before contracting someone.

 + -1 moreVillage Woodworking came and measured everything. They took pictures, asked questions, made suggestions. Then, we received a preliminary design that we discussed and made slight changes to. I went to their showroom, got a tour of the facility and went through the design in detailed -- picking out the cabinet door styles, hardware, etc. We had some problems matching the paint color, and they went above and beyond to try to accommodate. When they came to do the installation (at the time promised), I watched them double and triple check measurements. The quality of the cabinets are great, the team who came was very polite and respectful, and best of all.....the cabinets look like they have been there all along!
Description of Work: We have an older house and wanted some custom cabinets in both our mudroom and living room. It wasn't a big job, so I wasn't sure if we would be taken seriously. In the mudroom, we wanted a mini-pantry and a place to store away recycling. In the living room, we wanted a built-in cabinet to fill an unused space and work around an existing fireplace. And, most importantly, for the living room, we wanted it to look like it had always been there. We weren't sure how much it would cost, but their price came within my budget, so I was satisfied.

 + 0 moreI met with Jim (one of the owners) at my house to go over my ideas. Jim also offered some suggestions, which I am glad we accepted. Although everything was custom made, his price was similar to what I had been quoted for semi-custom cabinets which were not as high quality. One of my concerns was the tight timeframe we needed. Jim assured me it would not be a problem. I went to the Village Woodworking shop in Topsfield to look at options and finishes. They can build anything. We are very pleased with the end result. Everything is perfect! The design, craftmanship, and finish are outstanding. Jim and Brendan also kept their commitment to the tight timeframe which was even more impressive when I saw the end result. They were a pleasure to work with. We would definitely use Village Woodworking again and highly recommend them to others.
Description of Work: Village Woodworking built full kitchen cabinets, as well as bookcases, and fireplace mantel.

 + -1 moreWhat a fabulous job they did. They were very patient and took plenty of time with me as I made my choices. Their suggestions were spot on and the quality of their work is second to none. I am so delighted with my new kitchen. Even when there were a couple of issues (the island needed to be moved because I didn't like the placement) they were so wonderful in coming out and moving it. I would highly recommend them.
