Great job again with Dave. I actually got moved up in his schedule because another project's cabinets had not come in yet. He started and finished the job quickly - he worked daily until it was complete except for one rain day. He cleaned up nicely each day and we could e re-enter the house through our regular door. He had an assistant when he needed one. He didn't rush and it came out perfect.

Although we decided to HOLD on the entire project for another year or two; We would recommend Mathew Construction to anyone looking for a good reliable honest owner. Due to the fact we are relatively new to the area, we ended up trying to speak to a wide variety of companies. Only a few (mostly those from Angie's list) actually called us back. Dave (owner) was very responsive and quick to set up the appointment. After we met, he then sent us a sketch of what it would look like. We went a few times back and forth in the process as we were trying to understand all options. Dave constantly responded to our e-mails/requests and at the end when we decided to HOLD on the project - he understood and wished us well. The reason we did not go with the project was strictly because we under estimated our budget to do the project. All the estimates between the 4 companies that provided us one were all within a few thousand of each other. It was our miss. However, if we did go with the project - we would have selected Mathew's Construction. His professionalize, punctuality and patience for us was great. We anticipate we will use him soon as the small projects look to be piling up.

We had a great experience working with Dave and his crew. From the beginning Dave was one of the few contractors to get back to us in a timely fashion when we were collecting bids. Dave was realistic about the scope of work he could do within our budget. As this was our first big renovation project, Dave was great about walking us through the process and we felt totally comfortable with him in charge. Dave and his subcontractors showed up on time, when expected and the project stayed on schedule. Dave cleaned up each night before leaving so we could sneak in to take pictures and admire the progress. We were really impressed with how the entire project went and we highly recommend Dave to anyone looking for a quality, professional contractor. We were also impressed with the subcontractors that Dave used (painter, electricians, plumbers). He also oversaw our granite installation although we picked and hired them separately. It gave us peace of mind to know that he was here making sure things went smoothly. In addition, Dave was very responsive any time we had concerns or questions (even after the job was done). We stayed on budget (there were some overages for things that we could not have known about before opening up the walls, but actually Dave had predicted most of them and we felt the repair costs were reasonable and within what we expected the project to go over). We were out of town for the last two weeks of the project and I knew everything would be done when we got home - but I was dreading having to clean everything before I could move back into the kitchen (construction produces a lot of dust, I just assumed the cabinets would be full of it when we got back). After cleaning the first cabinet, I realized it was totally clean - no need for me to wipe down everything; I was able to just put dishes right in! While this might seem like a small thing, I think it speaks to Dave's attention to detail and the great care he takes with his work - he wants happy customers and definitely focuses on the big and small things to make sure the project goes off without a hitch.

From pulling permits to cleaning up, Dave took care of everything in a timely, professional and personable manner. Dave is great work with because he is thorough, punctual, patient, and provides good advice.
