The man who came out was fine. He did a great work. We just had a lot of trouble scheduling it. He did a good work and did it well once he did it but it literally took him months to get it scheduled and then he even tried to reschedule two days before but I got that scheduled. Maybe I would use him again in the future but I would also look at other contractors.
Description of Work: I used SA Calouro Construction some months ago for the replacement of about two-thirds of the main support beams of my house.

Steve came out to do an estimate, he examined what was there and also the wooden sill of the garage, which was rotting. He suggested replacing any punky wood, and ended up replacing most of the sill. He was responsive to my concerns about wanting to do this with sturdy materials, and ended up suggesting mahogany for the doors, which was a great solution - there has been a problem in the past, with moisture in that area of the yard. So we talked about the design, he replicated what was there to the extent that he could, and did a nice job in constructing the new doors from scratch. I would definitely recommend him to a friend.
Description of Work: Colouro Construction rebuilt garage doors -- the type that operate like barn doors. The doors that were there had been there since the house was built, about 100 years. I had spoken to several other contractors, none of whom seemed to want to do anything other than install overhead electric doors. I wanted wooden, manually-operated doors, and Steve Colouro was easy to work with in designing them. He showed up when scheduled and cleaned up at the end of each day. A year later and the doors still look beautiful; I was very pleased with the service.

I had been trying for years to find someone willing to do this job. Steve was just wonderful to work with and really worked with me to find the best long-lasting solution to the problem of rotting doors. He ended up hand-making mahogany doors to fit the space, and made them look as close as possible to the original ones. He really did a beautiful job. The doors look great and function much better than the old ones. He was willing to talk about various possible materials and did exactly as I asked. I couldn't be happier with the finished project. An A+++++ carpenter and all-around contractor!
Description of Work: My 100-year old garage needed shoring up. Steve and his crew examined all the wood and replaced anything that was rotted. They ended up replacing the entire sill with pressure-treated wood, and redoing the shingle siding in areas. Finally, they remade wooden doors to replace the rotted ones that were there. These are not typical garage doors - they operate manually - and function like barn doors.

My mother's home needed a sixteen foot concrete porch removed, the wall behind it repaired (the wood was rotting), and siding placed where the concrete used to be. We had a support beam replaced, new soffits installed, new columns installed, going from the beam to the ground. New gutters were installed completely in the front of the house and rear of the house. The landing at the top of the stairs was repaired. The side of the stairs, where the porch used to be, was filled with sand and debris. Steve, the owner, removed most of the debris and did extensive concrete repair to the side of the landing. We added to the estimate halfway through to install a concrete slab underneath the columns instead of leaving it. Sono tubes were installed in the ground for support as well. Columns were painted. First of all, this company came out right away to do an estimate. Every other estimator made the job seem overhwhelming and would cost about $10,000 and possibly more. Steve made the job sound simple, and he explained everything he did, every step of the way. Last year, we had new granite and brick stairs installed, and they worked around that without damaging a thing. He and Mike did superior work. They showed up on time, and when they were going to miss a day (only one), Steve emailed me and let me know. Most amazingly, they did not leave a mess. At all. They cleaned up their worksite, every single day. My overall impression is that this company is honest, trustworthy, and that they are out to make a living, not a killing. Their prices were excellent, their quality of work was outstanding, and Steve was very approachable with questions and referrals for other work we need to have to done on the property. Highly, highly recommended. We would have them back in a heartbeat.

We only had about half of the work done, but they were extremely responsive and came right out. So far, so good. They were extremely prompt. They appeared to really know what they were doing. They did a great job on the roof repair and flashing.
Description of Work: S.A. Calouro and Sons Construction fixed the flashing around the window, repaired the roof, and they are going to come back and replace a leaky window.
