Jim easily beat Reliable Fence's estimate by a few hundred dollars. I'd always rather give my money to the small guy. Jim came out right away, gave me an estimate and I gave him a deposit. He worked around my schedule and even came and installed the fence on a Sunday. Turnaround time was a week or so. Very quick! He and his helper worked all day, and it was hot. They worked around my gas/water line issues (Jim called Digsafe for me) and were amenable to my suggestions. I gave the quality a bit of a lower rating as I don't think the fence material is top notch, but more middle of the road--but it's cedar. Also, the gate hardware he used wasn't the stuff Reliable promised to use. The fence isn't as straight as I'd have like it (I'm super anal) but they worked hard. I had to ask them to re-install the gate as even I could see it wasn't level (again, super anal). Jim's a nice guy, and accommodating. I'd say overall the work was B+ quality work, but I saved a hundreds. It's a fence, it's not poetry or art. Would I use him again? Sure would.
