Dan The LawnMan

Dan was great to work with and the crew did a great job too. I have a lot of other random landscape jobs to do and would definitely use them again.

My mother in law needed a path cleared from the street to the front side of her home to get oil. Dan sent three guys, at $75 man hours each, to clear a path maybe 30 feet so the oil man could reach the house. Dan billed my disabled mother in law $220 dollars. One man could have cleared the path in 45 minutes for a third of the price.

The work was done exceptionally well. Extras included the guys making a path around the back of the house to ease access for trash cans. I didn't request that, but the guys wanted to help make things easier and it was much appreciated. Our driveway is a difficult "L" shape and tricky to plow with the incredible amounts of snow this winter. Dan's team of workers and Dan himself are always dependable, cooperative, and expert under tough conditions. He is accessible by texting and/or e-mail during the storm and that helps keep down the anxiety of the home owner. His patience is extraordinary and very much appreciated.

The weather in the Boston area has left many people with heavy loads of snow and/or ice dams on their roofs. Roofers are in VERY HIGH demand and are so busy, many are not even returning calls to say they can't handle any more business. I called Dan the Lawn Man on Tuesday, 12/10, when it was obvious the weather wasn't going to break and I was going to need help. I left messages at 2 other places, just going down the local "A" rated listing and then called Dan the Lwan Man's number. Everyone I called was in my town or one town over. Dan's wife answered, explained that they were very busy and all she could do was" put my on the list".......I was number 11. In the meantime, neither of the other two services returned my call (despite referencing that I got their names from Angie's list) and, as a plan B, I was frantically searching for calcium chloride, which was sold out everywhere locally. I ended up shipping some in via overnight delivery and it arrived yesterday. HOWEVER, Dan and his staff came to my house before I got home yesterday and my roof dams were taken care of AND he left some calcium chloride up there to help the melting process. IT WAS SUCH A WONDERFUL surprise and such a relief to have had this taken care of before it caused a leak, as so many people I know have had to deal with. He left a sheet with the detail of the work, but it didn't have an amount due and the name of his company had become illegible due to the moistness in the air. I called this morning and left a message to make sure it was him and to find out what I owed. He called me back in less than 15 minutes. Since we are getting 12-18 more inches of snow in two days, I asked if I should schedule him to come back next week. He could have bilked me out of more money but instead, said he thought it would be OK to wait and see how things go over the next few days, since my roof has a good pitch and is draining with the little sun we are getting. He emailed me a bill for $314 which I thought was VERY FAIR. From what I have heard, there are some unscruptulous companies out there right now who are taking advantage of this stretch of bad weather and actually tripling or quarupling their usual rates.......I was grateful to have found an honest, very hardworking, no doubt sleep deprived owner of a company that can do more than lawns! I am very glad he was listed in Angie's list and would recommend him to you without reservation.

I have used Dan's company for the past year. They also provide my landscaping services under our present agreement. Snow removal is incorporated into the agreement, under which there are a specified number of visits covered by the total fee for the year. What I like about this company is the communication and customer service. Dan keeps customers informed and his guys do great work. As an example, I was away during last week's blizzard. I emailed Dan to let him know I was away (and thus could not move one of our cars), but his crew worked around it. Came home a few days later and was very pleased to find the driveway in good shape and also walkways. We had another significant snowfall yesterday. Woke up this morning to a clear driveway, clean stairs and front walk. Again, they worked around our cars at the top of the driveway, using a snow blower to really get around and between the cars. Went out this morning and found that they had returned to finish the walkways and stairs. Dan is very responsive. I've seldom worked with a contractor who replies as quickly and completely. I work in a service business and responsiveness is something I very much appreciate when doing business with someone. Highly recommend them for snow removal services.

They used blowers to blow the leaves. They did charge to take the leaves away. They were very professional and showed up on time for the work. When you call, you talk to Dan himself which is nice.

This is our second time working with Dan Doucot. He is the best landscaping pro!! Punctual, polite, friendly, proficient. He has good crews and top shelf equipment. Don't waste your time with anyone else. He treats customers like gold.

Dan provided a very thorough cost estimate and went over all the details. Scheduling the job went well and we were very satisfied with the results.

He did come over within a reasonable amount of time. He looked at the yard with me. He made some suggestions about landscaping and offered to do something for the yard that would be more expensive; he offered to apply the deal credit to the higher amount job. I feel like his intention was to upsell us on a larger job. He said he'd send a revised estimate, but I never heard from him again.

Tremendous attention to detail. Pleasant to talk to. Very conscious of the customer's interests and finances. Creative approach to landscaping. Highly skilled with a chain saw. Always checked at various stages of the job to ensure my satisfaction.

Dan was great to work with. He provided us with and estimate and said he uld nly cut the lawn when necessary. He did a great job our lawn never looked so good! We are planning on having some additional landscaping and hardscaping done with Dan as well. I'm confident we will be pleased with the outcome of these services.

I contacted Dan regarding lawn care and landscaping for 2015. Although I am going in a different direction I was very happy with Dan's responsiveness and professionalism. He was very quick to respond to email and phone calls. He gave me a very thorough scope of work and cost involved. I would definitely recommend contacting him for a quote.

He was fine with what he did. We do most of the lawn work ourselves but this time it was more than we could do. He did exactly what he said he would do and the pricing was fine.

It went well. They did a good job. I would recommend them. I found them through Angie's List. His price was good. The quality was good but not excellent.

When I first spoke to Dan my back yard was a dried out, crabgrass and clover ridden, barren wasteland of weeds and ants. Since then he has helped me tear it down and build it up again. We turned a third of the yard into a mulch area that the dogs and kids could play in, and the other two thirds is a fresh new lawn. These areas are separated by a ceder, round post and rail fence. We just recently sprayed the lawn with Hydroseed, but already it looks great. I wanted to do as much of the work myself as I could, both to save money, and because I enjoyed doing the work. Dan got that. He was more than happy to simply discuss "what he would do" if it were his house, and I would essentially just do it myself. I did hire Dan to deliver and spread 25 yards of loam and coordinate spraying the hydroseed. He was always willing to step in and do whatever I couldn't or didn't feel like doing myself. I fully intend on using Dan in the future as future projects develop.

Great rates, Great work , I couldn't be happier with the work performed on my property. Use Dan The Lawn-man you will not be disappointed.

He came out and gave us some pricing on some work but he was a lawn cutter not a landscaper. He was good but he was a lawn guy not a landscaper.

This was a summer that I knew I would have absolutely no time to devote to my yard. Dan was so professional and met with me to disucss what I envisioned. My yard needs so much work but Dan was able to work within my budget. We have set goals and over the next few years, my yard with start to look great once again- Dan said he would check my grass weekly and mow only when it was needed...he was true to his word. I respect his honesty and it has been a real pleasure to work together.

The results were fantastic! Our over grown rhododendrons were shaped and cut down to size, looking great. Areas that were way out of control were cleaned up and debris removed. Two huge bushes were cut down and the stumps were ground away. This opened up areas we could never figure out what to do with. Flower beds were cleaned up covered with black mulch that looks great. Poison Ivy was removed.

In addition to the above two items, Dan does our lawn, trims bushes, and does the bi-annual yard cleanup. My wife and I are very satisfied with Dan's work. He is responsive and always professional. It's great to have someone we can always count on for our lawn and other outside needs that are key to property upkeep.

I contacted Dan for advice about how to landscape a new home we had just moved in to. Dan was extremely responsive and within just a few weeks had the outside of my house looking much better. He provided lawn cutting services as well as laying down mulch and trimming bushes/trees. I continue to use Dan's landscaping service and will so in the future.

I love them. I absolutely love them. They've exceeded my expectations. They plow the walkways using salt, as opposed to a salt/sand mix. They're in constant communication throughout the year. If it's only a dusting of snow, they ask that you let them know so they don't show up for just two inches and charge you for that. They're excellent. I highly recommend them to anybody.

We had hired Dan before to work on the front lawn, so we decided to get an estimate for a brush removal project. Dan showed up for the estimate, and he really took the time to understand my needs and concerns. After the estimate, I had some follow-up questions, and responses were very quick. On the day of service, the crew did great work clearing the area and removing the debris. Even though Dan was not part of the actual work crew, the foreman Peter handled the job very professionally. Throughout the project, I always felt that Dan was genuinely interested in keeping me satisfied. I plan to hire him again when the need arises.

We have had an excellent experience using Dan the Lawnman and his crew. His workers always did a really nice job mowing and edging the lawn, and cleaned up after themselves every time. Very reasonable prices, excellent communication, and would highly recommend.
