Adelino Soares Construction

Adelino did excellent work at my home. He repointed and capped my chimney and on the same date, repaired my front steps. I am very satisfied with his work and I felt he charged me a very reasonable price for the work that was done, especially since he had to set up scaffolding to access my chimney. Adelino was very professional and everything he said he would do was done. He actually went above and beyond and fixed some stones on the side of my house for no extra charge. Would use again. Very happy customer.

He was very nice. However the estimate for the patio was much more than we had anticipated. Exceeding our budget for the area.

They said that they didn't feel comfortable repairing the steps, they need to be knocked down and rebuilt. Unable to afford at the moment. He was very honest.

I purchased a Big Deal for $149.00 for masonry work. Mr Soares came to size up the job and we agreed that the repairs would cost an additional $400 which was very reasonable. Within a couple of weeks I got a call from Mr. Soares about doing the repairs today, Saturday, May 17th. He and a skilled helper came at the agreed time and immediately clearing out the broken, pulverized mortar and loose bricks. Within a couple of hours both sets of stairs looked better than they did 13 years ago when we moved in. Mr. Soares is a skilled artisan and is a perfectionist about his trade and services. I highly recommend him for any kind of masonry or stone work. He takes pride in his work.

I purchased the deal on 9th. I made several attempts to contact the provider to schedule services. When we finally reached the company they were not compliant.

Provider offered a Big Deal through Angie's list of $149 for 3 hours of masonry construction. However when I showed him the very small job he kept trying to add more items to the job and wanted $800 instead. (It was really a very small job that should not have taken more than 2 hours.) Subsequent attepts to reach this provider were fruitless. I will be asking for a refund.

Although the area involved was small, Adelino pointed out to me that the scope of the job was actually fairly extensive. I had been prepared to spend a bit more than the cost of the Big Deal ($149), but to do the job correctly, I would have had to spend an additional $1000--money I do not have in my budget at this time. Adelino graciously informed me that he would be happy to let me return my Big Deal coupon for a refund, since this was a case of the consumer not having enough information to evaluate the scope of work. He will corroborate this when you call him to check on the status of the job. Adelino seems very knowledgeable and experienced. He was extremely pleasant to deal with. I appreciate his desire to do the job the right way and his understanding when I couldn't afford the additional costs. I will definitely call him when I have money to do the work.

I contacted his business on a Saturday, he took a few days to get back to me. He apologized for taking so long but explained that he was very busy. He came by a few days later to give me an estimate. It was a small job and said if it was okay with me he would complete the job as a fill in when he either finished early or did not have a full day work. He completed the work within two weeks. The job was done to my satisfaction, timely, for a good price and he left the area very neat. This is my first experience with Angie's List and it was an excellent one

We are very impressed with this man. He had good ideas to deal with our difficult driveway problems (tree roots, etc..) We have invited him back to show us pavers and a written estimate. If that goes well, we look forward to seeing him and will update the review.

Adelino came in and viewed the job, I had purchased the special deal that was offered. Within a couple of days they completed the job and were very nice, efficient and the work looks good also.

I was contacted by the service provider and he asked what type of work I was looking to have done. Basically I told him I had a few small things that needed to be done but would like a price for potential future projects that will need to be done. His response was that the big deal was to cover the first few hours of larger projects. He didn't appear too interested when I said it was just a few small things right now. At that point I didn't have the feeling that I wanted to pursue having the work done. I will try to find a more local vendor. Thank you.

Adelino was quick to contact me after I purchased the Angie's List big deal. He came out a few days later and went over what I wanted to have done and my options. He and his laborer came out the following Saturday to do the job. The brick support columns I was having repaired and repointed are in a partially finished basement and Adelino did a very good job of tenting the dust out of my house. The work they did is amazing. I had originally only wanted the botton halves of hte columns done (where the damage was) and Adelino did the entire face of the columns to make it look the best it could. They really look good I had no idea they could look so good. Adelino Soares is one of those rare honest, hard working and quality contractors that is hard to come bye. I definetly recommend hiring him for your projects, I know I will be again in the future!

Project is on-going but so far it's excellent

TheSaturday I called for an estimate Adelino Soares came out to the house and presented a fair price for the work. He was thorough and explained all that he would do. Satisfied, I hired him to do the work and he began the following Monday. The work took four days to complete. Adelino removed the remaining loose mortar and applied a mortar coat to fill in the deep gaps and voids. Thereafter, he placed a coat of mortar along the entire wall surface, making sure his work was done properly and neatly. At the end of the job, all the debris was removed from the basement and taken away from the property. Since access to the basement was not easy (no available window or bullhead entry) Adelino and his helper manually carried the sand and cement into the basement through the kitchen door leading to the basement and removed the debris the same way. At the end of the project, the entire basement was cleaned. The work was of excellent quality and has made a significant improvement to the basement condition.

Adelino did not show up when first called due to a misunderstanding as to the time I wanted the work done, I was in the process of obtaining estimates for the work I was going to have done in August 2014, Mr. Soares was not aware that I was obtaining estimates. Hence he was planning to contact me at a later date, mistake on my part. During this period Angies list sent me an email in order to rate this contractor, of course I reported that Mr. Soares never showed. Last week as a result of this rating Mr. Soares phoned and offered an apology for the misunderstanding and came down to give me an estimate. Since then Mr. Soares began work on my driveway as of the 15 of Jan. and I must say his work is excellent. The remaining work will be completed in August. I would strongly recommend that any negative publicity be removed from Angies list pertaining to this contractor as a result of this misunderstanding. Sincerely; Ronald G. Pouliot (USA Ret.)

Excellent! I really thought he was great. I used him one time and he needed to come back because we had a drainage issue that compromise the work that he had done and he fixed it with no charge. I used him again. It was just a couple of months ago. I called him back and he wanted to come back and fix it. He was very concerned about his reputation and wanted to make it right and he had done some of the drainage but I do not even know it was his fault but he came back and fixed it and no charge. Five years after the initial work I had another drainage issue, he came back and rebuilt the front walkway and fixed the drainage issue at no charge. The walk is beautiful and I would highly recommend him to anyone!

Adelino returned my call the day that I left a message about the work I wanted done. He came by the following day showed us numerous photos of his work; patios, chimneys, walkways, and stone walls etc. and to access the cite and estimate the cost of the job. Adelino is a very business like man who takes pride in his work. He was very clear about how he would perform the work on our property. He also made several suggestions that had not been addressed by the contractor who originally did the work. Adelino and his helper work as a team and stripped the entire the pavers from patio then reconfigured the pitch, paver pattern layout and drainage system and solved a few other problems in the process. He also rebuilt the flag stone walkway to our breezeway with great results. Our family is very pleased with Adelino's work. He left the area neat and clean. We would recommend Adelino to our friends, our relatives and the public at large without hesitation.

Adeline came the day i called and gave us an estimate. He started work a week later and finished a with in the week. He knew his Kraft well. He was hard worker. He and his friend cleaned up our entire yard after the work.

Adelino returned my call the same day that I left a message about the work I wanted done. He came over 45 minutes later to give us an estimate for the job. He's a very pleasant, hard-working man who takes a lot of pride in his work. This was evident as he spoke to us about how he would go about the work we needed. He came to do the work within a week. He and his helper removed our entire front cement walkway. Adelino had hundred's of photos of the work he has done, which included patios, chimneys, walkways, and stone walls so that we could get some ideas. He also made some practical suggestions that we would never have thought of, and it solved some other problems in the process. The walkway looks fantastic. It is gray stone with a staggered design in the center and a border along the sides. It breaks the walkway up in a very attractive pattern. He removed the broken cement in our garage, about a foot into the garage and he removed all the cement that extended three feet outside the garage to meet the paved driveway. He replaced this area with new cement and it is leveled so that we won't have water puddling at the end of the driveway. He also replaced some mortar on our chimney. Adelino and his helper worked quickly and definitely know their craft. We're pleased with the way everything came out. Our entire yard was raked and cleaned so there was no residue of cement or stones. We would recommend Adelino to anyone who might want this type of work done in their home.

Great preparation work with stone dust and tamping. Raised the walk up about two inches above the height of the grass to prevent water buildup on the walkway. Nice even steady pitch to ensure the water runs off nicely. Straight lines, excellent paver layout and pattern work. Filled in all lines between pavers to prevent growth of grass later on. Top notch job! Very happy and satisfied.

He is an authentic stone worker and got his first chisel or hammer when he was six years old because it has been passed down through the family. The guy really did a great job and had to redo a job that another guy previously did. He knew what he was doing.

They finished the work last week. They used the stone that they had to take up from the front walkway, and rather than just throw it away they made a pathway for us at the back. They were really good. We would absolutely use them again.
