+ -1 moreHe was very superficial, and as a result there were huge problems that were completely missed … cost thousands and thousands of dollars in damage. When I talked with the founder, I could see why they do it – that’s their business model. It’s just a casual inspection.

+ -1 moreOf course, anyone buying a house - especially if it smells moldy and asks - should know that the value of a house can range from no issues all the way to a dumpy moldy money pit if there are real mold issues. Mr. Stephen Roberts never responded to any of my emails or phone calls afterward. He was punctual and on fairly short notice - however, I feel we got short-changed in one of the most important transactions of my life.
Description of Work: The inspector gave the house we bought a cursory review from all I can determine, including that - although I had concerns about mold - he emphatically stated there is no mold issue. The house smelled moldy. There were numerous leaks in the basement including that along the edges of the basement roots had grown through the foundation, and had collected dirt down through the years. There were significant roots growing in several places in the basement forming a dirty sponge that held moisture and dirt. When we got the written contract from the inspector it was emphasized they do not do MOLD work. That was a key concern, so it should have been stated right up front.

+ -1 moreStephen Roberts of HouseMaster performed our home inspection. He was on time, courteous, thorough, extremely knowledgeable, and willing to share his knowledge with us. We learned a lot about houses and about this home in particular and feel fairly comfortable that we now know what issues it has.
Description of Work: A home inspection of a two bedroom house, two floors of living space, basment and attic, outside of the house, garden, appliances and so on. The price indicated ($625) also includes a Radon Test
