The man that came out, I liked him very much. He gave me a very reasonable estimate, I liked him very much, I just haven't used him yet. He is very professional and I was impressed.

He was a really nice guy and he responsive.

They were wonderful. We spent about $2000 for their services. They stand behind their work. We had a little problem. It was sort of a complicated job and there was a little leak. As soon as we noticed that, the guys showed up and patched it up. They didn’t even call us and we finally realized that it was fixed.

James was a real peasure to work with. He returned calls promptly, showed up when he said and delivered on time and on budget with no surprises (except that our yard was actually cleaner when he left than when he started). I would highly recommend him.

We had some shingles fly off our 18 yo roof during a storm. I wanted it repaired and sought help w/preventing ice damming. Another "A" listed roofer on Angies List told us we needed the entire roof replaced for >$10K. This other roofer never climbed up the roof to feel/see the shingles. O'Connell came, went on the roof, and told me it's in fine shape and he could replace the shingles and add soffet vents to address ice damming, cost $1K. He called ~2 wks later the day before sending a crew out. The next day the crew came, did the work, cleaned up, and were gone within 6 hrs.

I had a mold problem in my garage from inadequate ventilation. I called roofing companies, all with good Angie's List ratings, and told them my problem and said I suspected I needed a ridge vent, but wasn't sure. One guy that came out said the ridge vent was what I needed and sent a quote for $1000. Another suggested an extractor fan instead, which sounded like it would work better for my situation, but he never sent a quote. James from O'Connell Roofing also recommended an extractor fan, and the very next day sent a quote for that, along with a quote for the roof vent option, and a quote for another option he'd mentioned. In the meantime, because one guy never sent a quote, I had another company come out, and they gave a price of $1000 for just the extractor fan. James's quotes for both the fan and the vent were about 1/3 of these other guys' quotes. It was a small job, so the others intended to gouge me, but James' said he'd swing by at the end of a work day and take a couple of hours to do it. I wanted a roofer to do it instead of a handyman because it involves cutting a hole in the roof and properly reshingling and sealing everything up well. I'd heard of solar roof fans, so I asked James if he knew anything about them. He didn't, but he did some research, and picked up a couple for me to look at. We decided to go with the regular electrical fan after all. The time he spent looking into the solar option was above and beyond. Also, he and the other guy who suggested electric fans said I'd have to have an electrician hook it up after it was installed, which was fine. James showed up one day at about 4 PM, just as I was leaving the house, and when I got back, he'd installed the fan and taken care of the electrical hook-up too. Since he didn't do an extensive roofing job for me, I can't say whether the quality of his roofing is top notch, but I suspect it is, and he's certainly a top-notch guy, who solved my problem for a very reasonable price. And I haven't even received his invoice yet. Hey, James! Feel free to send a bill! When I need a new roof, I know for sure who I'll call.

The team did a great job fixing a leaky entryway. Totally happy with the service. Said what they would do, did it on time and for what they quoted.

James O’Connell is great. He is very honest and forthright. His workers are hard working and do good work. I would recommend him a hundred percent. I would rate him highly and would use him again in the future if necessary.

I thought he was professional. He was very good at responding back to me. He was very polite and considerate. He was relatively kind as it was weekend. He got back to me inspite of it being a holiday. I can’t complain about this gentleman at all. He was very good at what he did. He was very prompt. He was on the roof, it could have been the wrong out but since I described it to him, he knew which one it was. There is nothing bad that I can say about him. What I would like is, they bringing references with them. He might have had them but he did not volunteer them. It would be good if they would provide references upfront of people whose roofs they had done. If they could get a list of roofs they had done and contact information of those people that would be great. I might use their services in the future.

They rushed out our roof before the snow storm started an hour later.

He was more pricey than other quotes I had gotten before, but he was able to do the work in a timely fashion, very professional and did a great job communicating any problems and proposed solutions. I had issues with others who work in slate because of large backlogs taking them months to even look at the job or give me a quote, telling me they can't possible start for another 6 - 9 months. Hopefully this is the same O'Connell roofing I used, as their home base was in Sudbury, not Waltham. However, I don't know where they might advertise.

He just came and got the job done quickly, then left. He didn't even charge for the work. It was good service.

My overall experience with them went really well. They were very good and very professional. They said they will get back to me in seven to ten days and they got back to me on the tenth day. They did pretty good work. They showed up when they said they would.

They were responsive to questions, walked through the work with me, came on time and completed the job under estimate. There was a small problem and they came back within 24 hours of my call to fix it.

James was very professional. He was responsive at every step of the process. He offered a very good price and the job was done very well.

We had a roof leak and called the company. They responded very quickly and we were dry again right away. We have since had James and his crew out for some follow-up work to deal with squirrels -- again, we are satisfied customers.

I am very pleased with all work performed.
