He said he would fix the peeling paint on the exterior(see above "services performed") and never showed up. I continued to call him at home and business for 5 months(over 25 phone calls) and he never returned a call. I am now in the process of taking him to Court to recover damages. Ed Brooks showed up in May 2011 and scraped and primed the house (with a different color) then disappeared again. He left the house in a state of disrepair and unfinished. He promised on multiple occasions that he would finish the job- painting and replacing shutters and downspouts, but never showed up. I had to paint the front of the house myself this week (Nov. 6, 2011) because it looked so bad and my renters were expecting it to be completed by Sept. The remaining 3 sides of the house are still unpainted and I am taking Ed Brooks to court to recover my cost. I am hoping to hire other painters in the spring to finish the job. Ed Brooks is not a man of his word and I am amazed he can run a business by lying to his customers and taking advantage of people.
Description of Work: I contracted with Ed Brooks Painting Co to paint the exterior of my home and storage shed. I have a signed and dated contract complete with detailed descriptions of the work he committed to complete. He completed the work October 2009. I paid him in cash $1000 on Oct. 13, 2009 and paid the remainder of $2150.00 when completed at the end of October. 6 months later- in April 2010 I noticed many areas of the exterior paint peeling off the house. I contacted Ed Brooks immediately to have him fix the problem. He said he would, and then never showed up. I took pictures of the peeling paint and continued to call him at both his work and home number for 5 months(approx. 25 phone calls) and he never returned a call, nor did he ever fix the peeling paint. I am now in the process of taking him to Court to recover damages. Sincerely, Pamela Gasek

I have gave him a $2,000 deposit, but he never showed up to do the work. He said he had to leave town. I was never contacted and could not get a hold of him for 5 days. He was messing up my schedule and arrived 2 hours late when he finally did come. I filed a case in small claims court and he didn't even show up for that.
Description of Work: I wanted him to paint and do some carpentry work.
