This company installed a new heating system in my home and wired it incorrectly. I have had to pay another company to correct all the errors in this installation. In addition, they claimed that one of my AC units was not installed correctly. We had then fix the installation, which required removing the coolant from the unit. They didn't put the correct amount of coolant back which caused the AC unit to stop working--they claimed it wasn't their fault (I was lucky that the unit was still under guarantee). Stay as far away from this company as possible!

Overall, the estimating process with AMS was the easiest and most professional of the three. It's just hard to justify the cost.

The owner/proprietor Joe arrived a little early in meeting with us. He listened to our needs and on the spot gave us three major options to consider: 1) Stick with a gas steam boiler, 2) Convert to a hot water boiler, 3) Convert to high velocity forced air with an AC option. It was apparent that Joe is very bright and knowledgeable. Within 24 hours he sent us via email a detailed quote for each of the above three options. We evaluated the quotes we got from four different contractors. We sent AMS some questions and a request for additional work. They responded within hours with all questions answered and an updated quote. AMS wasn't the cheapest, nor the most expensive, but they provided the clearest description of the work they offered to do and the products they selected to install. That made us feel comfortable. We went with AMS and option 1 mentioned above. The work was scheduled to begin in two weeks. They showed up exactly on time and finished the work in two days. They had as many as seven workers on site to get the job done quickly. The did everything exactly right and did a good job cleaning up. Our new systems work great. I give AMS a big thumbs up!

It was a painless pleasant experience. Something we didn't expect given heating system issues. We would recommend them highly!

Price is very approximate - I don't have bills at hand. My heat pump stopped working after 23+ years of good operation. I called Advanced Mechanical after checking with a neighbor who had had work done satisfactorily by AM. The AM technician reported that the heat pump compressor was defective and should be replaced and that I should consider replacing the whole unit. Figuring it did not owe me anything after this time, I decided to replace the whole unit in order to avoid problems in the future. Then I received a call from AM telling me the unit was no longer manufactured by Carrier, the original manufacturer, but that the same unit was now made by another manufacturer under a license from Carrier. I finally decided to go ahead with that. After it was installed it did not work and I was told that the thermostat was defective too, so I authorized installation of a replacement thermostat. The system appeared to work after that, until I got my electric bill and it was apparent that the heat pump was not working, just its electric booster which resulted in several thousand dollars of unnecessary electrical usage over the winter season. When I complained to AM, they inspected again and told me the second thermostat was not intended for the application, and proposed a third thermostat. I then got a manual on the 2nd thermostat on the Internet and spoke to two engineers at its manufacturer (Honeywell). The manual and both Honeywell engineers indicated that the 2nd thermostat was indeed appropriate for the application despite AM's claim to the contrary. I indicated my strong skepticism to AM about the possibility of a 3rd thermostat solving the problem - it seemed just too much coincidence that two thermostats were defective at the same time a compressor was defective, but I authorized installation of the 3rd unit contingent on it working satisfactorily. AM then sent a different technician who investigated and indicated that the 2nd thermostat was wired incorrectly by the 1st technician, and that that was the reason for the excessive power usage, not the thermostat itself as I has suspected, and also that the first technician had overfilled the Freon which caused the unit to cycle incorrectly. After he drained excessive Freon and rewired the 2nd thermostat and took the 3rd one away, uninstalled. Then the system seemed to work except that it did not provide adequate cooling during the summer season. Fed up, I called a professional HVAC engineer who investigated thoroughly and made several measurements, and after reviewing specifications on the replacement unit found that it was lower capacity than the original, and told me that the replacement unit, although intended as a drop-in unit for a lower capacity Carrier unit by its manufacturer, was not licensed by Carrier at all. So at this point I am stuck with a unit not equivalent to the original and unable to provide sufficient cooling, and I have a nagging suspicion that the whole problem was simply a failed original thermostat which should have cost under $200 to replace. I also am apprehensive about the new unit's heating capacity, but this winter will tell about that too. All in all, just plain sloppy work. I don't think AM intended to misrepresent anything, but they certainly didn't check thoroughly and didn't install the equipment correctly.

For the price it may surprise people how cheap it was because I have 3 heating unit and 3 ac units. When I call all I have to do is tell them my name and they say oh Hi how can I help you or what do you need. I have been using them for awhile but even the second time she remember my name and I feel like its more of a personal relationship. I did not have air and I was 91/2 months pregnant and they were so busy but the came right away.

They are professional and on time. I was satisfied with their work. I would highly recommend them to other people. They were very careful in the home and didn't make a mess.

Overall, they did a good job. Minor problems were rectified easily to our satisfaction. We would use this company again in the future.

Very professional, expert diagnosis, and no work required.

Initially received an estimate for installing a Mr. Slim ductless air conditioning unit for one large room in our house. The installers showed up much later than expected (and we had several rounds of phone calls back and forth with the office) and were missing one piece to completely finish the installation (though that A/C was working, the ductwork covering wasn't finished and an electrical breaker needed to be changed). Had to remind them to come back to finish the work.

Excellent. I called and left messages for 2 other companies and never got a response. With AMS I started by sending a few inquiry email and was shocked when I got responses in an hour. They were able to schedule service that same week. Very responsive to emails and phone calls. Tech that showed up was on time, friendly, and professional. Could not get other companies to call me back so it was tough to rate the price (but the cost seemed reasonable). Since the unit was already working and I just wanted routine maintenance, I was unable to rate quality of work.

I chose this company because they are in my town and my usual plumber was not returning my calls (turns out the secretary was on vacation). Called to say that I needed two shutoffs changed under a sink, not an emergency. Sent someone the next day, only changed valve part of shutoffs, I supplied the parts, was charged $225. A reasonable price for this job would be about $85.00. It did not occur to me to get an estimate because it was such a simple job.

The entire crew was on time in the morning and worked hard until time to leave. They ran into a few difficulties and had to change a few details they had planned, but they still finished on schedule. We have had work in another part of the house done by another contractor and their estimate was much further off than these folks'. If I pointed out something that needed to be taken care of, they did it quickly.

Both the service tehcnicians and the office staff were very professional. When we had a miscommunication about scheduling (they thought we were scheduled a day later than I did), they sent someone over later that same day to complete the job. They also installed the thermostat at no extra charge.

Advanced Mechanical did a thorough job of inspecting, testing and tuning up our A/C systems. They did much more work in terms of testing than the company we had been using previously, including verifying that the drains for condensation were working properly.

Very, very pleased. Brenda told me exactly what would happen on the phone, and it happened how she said it would, and on very short time. I called on a Thursday, they came out to see my system on Friday, and came back to install on the following Tuesday. They were very accommodating of my schedule. The work performed is perfect, and the house is much more comfortable with the model of humidifier they chose for our system.

THEY WERE QUICK AND PUNCTUAL IN SCHEDULING THE APPOINTMENT, AND ARRIVING ON TIME, THEY FINISHED AND CLEANED UP NICELY. I DIDN'T CARE FOR HOW LOW ONE OF THE CONNECTIONS WAS, AND THEY QUICKLY SCHEDULED A RETURN VISIT, SO I WAS HAPPY. I NOW JUST AUTOMATICALLY CALL AMS SINCE I TRUST THEM!

I WAS A BIT CONCERNED SINCE THERE WAS A COMPLAINT ON THE LIST FROM YEARS BACK, BUT AFTER SPEAKING TO BRENDA, THE OFFICE MANAGER, I FELT CONFIDENT THAT AMS HAD INCREASED THEIR CUSTOMER SERVICE. THEY HAVE. THEY WERE RESPONSIVE, ON TIME, RETURNED CALLS, AND WHEN I QUESTIONED HOW SOMETHING WAS DONE, THEY CHANGED IT SO THAT I WOULD BE HAPPY.
