Description of Work: I called and spoke to a very nice sales rep. I ordered a ne dishwasher to replace a broken one in a rental unit. He was very helpful and professional and the delivery and installation was scheduled. On the delivery day the men arrived and brought in the new dishwasher, however, the old dishwasher they soon realize had been installed without shut off valves and since they were not plumbers they could not remove the old one and install the new one. They very nicely took the new one back to Yale and credited my account. I am in the process of getting a plumber to remove the old dishwasher and correct the plumbing issue.

There repair service is adequate but their appliance sales people are lousy.
Description of Work: They repaired my freezer. They were the second person we had come out and they said the condenser was broken. They offered to apply the cost of the service call to a new fridge. But when we went to Yale appliances, it was awful customer services so we went with a different store.

When I walked around their showroom I was really impressed. I was there for a washer and dryer but it seemed like I was going there for something else in particular for kitchen appliances and lighting. They had a tremendous showroom and I really enjoyed browsing through it though that was not why I was there for. The people were really friendly and somewhat knowledgeable about what I was looking for and that part was good. The saleslady was good and they got things done on time. The dryer was not installed particularly well and we had to have someone else install it and pay for it because the installation wasn’t done correct. They didn’t install the dryer properly. We realized the problem over a year later and we actually took it apart ourselves and did it. We hired a plumber for a different reason and we told him we were having this problem and we realized we had not fixed it. We figured we didn’t fix the problem and we got it fixed by professionals. I was more impressed with the store room rather than by any of the service they provided. Having a good selection in the store room isn’t the best service. The storage was set up in little rooms and so you can see how the fixtures that you buy would look in the room. It was a really nice showroom.

The experience was good. We can call and talk to them over the phone. They tell us what to look at online and they recommend things. They have everything on their website though. They also have a showroom.

What we found was a sales consultant who not only knew their products, but had the skills of a builder and designer. She gave us design ideas and inspired us to find new solutions. Then she brought us to a lower price option to make it work. It was a powerfully positive experience.

Excellent experience! They returned my phone calls promptly and patiently answered all of my questions. When you arrive at the store, they give you a beeper to let you know when a salesperson is available. It was a bit of a wait (15-20 minutes) but I guess it's a good sign that this business draws so many customers. The salesperson assigned to me was very friendly, courteous and professional --- though he seemed a bit inexperienced and did not know as much as I did about the product I wanted to buy. But he was willing to listen and even called GE to get the answers I needed. In so doing, he learned that the model had been discontinued and was replaced with a newer model that had better features (and a higher price). The best part was that he upgraded me to the new model for the price of the old one (which at the time was still being advertised on Yale's website), saving me $200.
Description of Work: I needed a new stove and did a lot of research before deciding on a brand and model -- the GE Profile 910. Although this is a very popular model and highly rated in consumer surveys, it was impossible to find a store that actually carried it. (All said that they could order it but I was not about to order a $1,000 appliance without seeing it first.) Yale Appliance was the ONLY place that physically had this model, along with dozens of others in every brand imaginable. I was able to check out the GE Profile 910 and compare it to many others on the floor. In the end, I knew it was what I wanted, and I bought it.

From the sale to the installation everything went according to plan.
Description of Work: We purchased Thermador gas range, double oven and dishwasher. We live in an old house on the second floor. Almost every project is difficult owing to the age of the house and different building standards. The installers were always on time and were able to fit the new appliances into the old spaces. They removed the old (heavy) appliances and cleaned up. Our kitchen looks great.

Yale was very helpful in selecting and installing the dishwashers. There was an issue / problem with the original dishwashers (they slightly protruded from the countertops), and Yale replaced the units with a different model. They installed the second model at no cost and did not charge a "restocking" fee for the initial set. Great customer service.

They were very helpful in helping us figure out what to do about the parts with the manufacturer. It was good service. The person was educated and knew what he was doing. They came a week or two later after I reported the work. I didn't compare the price so it was average. I will absolutely use them again because the oven part broke and they are scheduled to come back but it is the manufacturer and not their fault.

I had a good salesperson and was able to select a refrigerator that worked well for us. I decided to get an extended warranty; the salesman did not push it on us. I was glad that I did, because the freezer broke and needed several new parts. The only thing that I was not happy about was that a shelf that broke was not covered by the warrany. I felt that the shelf, which had not been mishandled, should have been covered. This cost me $75.00, which I unhappily paid. Overall, however, Yale has provided excellent service with competitive pricing, and I will continue to shop there.

The freezer became frosty and I used my extended warranty. Again, Yale came out and fixed the problem. Overall, I am very pleased with this store.

We booked in to see Sonya Quinlan after speaking to her on the phone.The receptionist at the door was quick to contact her when we arrived and we didn't have to wait long.We were interested in the Electrolux Induction free standing range and she was able to answer all our questions and even offered us advice on what cookware to use on it.The showroom is huge and you can get anything from outdoor lights to kitchen appliances.Great for one stop shopping!We even found a bathroom light fixture for a Fabulous price!We would definitely recommend you see Sonya and we'll be back for sure!

Description of Work: I had a n associate reccommend a similar style light to the one I had ordered. I eventually cancelled the order and bought the recommended one and I love it. There was no receptionist when we walked in so we missed the pager assignment and had to wait an extra half hour once we were ready to talk to a salesman. After that, everything was pleasant and expedient. We spent a bit of money and didn't feel too bad about it. UPDATE: The kitchen renovation is done. Delivery went smoothly. I had to change the delivery date 3 times and that was never a problem. The microwave turned out to be faulty. It took one phone call to get it fixed, and it was done within a week. The repairmen were prompt, polite, enthusiastic and informative. Yale has obviously figured something out about customer service, and they are doing it right.

The State of Massachusetts gave us money to get cheaper appliances about two years ago. I really did not have a choice because there were very few people who had what I needed, and I had to get a specific one through the State of Massachusetts, and they just happened to have what I needed. The workers were fine and knowledgeable, and they were neither too special nor terrible. I would recommend them to others and would use them again in the future if necessary.

The service inside the shop was good - not too long of a wait. They are well organized. The salesman was able to answer all of my questions. He did try to talk me out of the smaller 'fridge for some reason, although it cost almost as much as the larger one (I bought one of each). The delivery was a problem, however. The first time, they didn't arrive during the window they scheduled - they were hours late, although they did phone in the morning to let me know. Since they only deliver M-F, this was quite inconvenient as I had to take a day off work. They only deilvered one of my items, however, and hadn't told me this in advance. If I'd known, I would have delated delivery of both so I would only have to take one day off. The second refridgerator was delivered about a month later (!), without much of an explanation. They took away the old machines.
Description of Work: Bought two refrigerators, one of which had a floor model available, the other I worked with a salesman in the shop to find one on their website. I was looking for Energystar products, one for myself, the other for a tenant.

I have used them twice. We had a tax free weekend so we bought a whole lot of appliances though our refrigerator didn't qualify. When it came to price they were amazing and they had the best price. None of their sales happens on commission. When I was looking for refrigerators I was really inclined towards a much more expensive refrigerator and the clerk helped me with choosing one and he showed me one which was nearly half its price. They were great.

They were running a special on the stackables, and so I bought them. when they arrived for installation, they were two different shades of white. I don't know why they sold them as a pair. I had to speak with 3 different people to get it sorted, and I had to pay $300 additional in order to get matching appliances. I was disappointed because they have such an outstandng reputation. The other items were fine, some took 3-4 weeks to arrive, but they were what I expected and it was no big deal.

I have never heard of any services, medical, any kind where they charge just to book a time, even with advance cancellation notice. Things come up, I understand the 24 hours cancellation requirement, but just to book a call? Who knows what can happen in 10 days or more? Airlines is the only industry that imposes a penalty for changes. And we all know how popular they are. They need to research this policy. Totally not user friendly. If they're trying to discourage repair business, they've succeeded. I will purchase from them, but never use their repair service. Response to them is that a) no one contacted us about the "gift card" not did we get it. b) no parts were ordered, just an appointment made, no credit was given either.
Description of Work: Just put in service call, very professional . However, they require a charge immediately , whether we decide to follow through or not, or cancel more than 24 hours, as is the usual scenario.

We regret any confusion and have recently changed our policy. We charge $99 to send a truck, a qualified(seriously) technician and parts to fix the issue. $49 of this charge is refundable as a gift card to the store if the client does not wish to proceed with the repair. We do not charge by the time or any additional trips to rectify the machine...and the trip charge includes any additional appliances. We will also warranty all the parts for 5 years as of September 1, 2011 That being said, we have always asked for a simple deposit to cover the expense of ordering parts and routing technicians to a clients home. If a client cancels, we will of course refund the deposit

They gave us a $150 discount and then they gave us the paperwork to send in for a $150 rebate. They are really smart at that store, they know a lot of stuff. They emailed me to tell me the state was having this rebate that was happening in a couple of days. The refrigerators in the store were the most energy efficient and would qualify for the rebate. They do repairs and if we had anything break I would definitely give them a call.
