After two botched deliveries, the third went VERY well and I was completely satisfied.
Description of Work: I submitted a review of Yale Electric here on July 9, 2012. Since then they have redeemed themselves. After the two botched attempts at delivering my washer and dryer as described on my July 9 entry, Yale did deliver my washer and dryer successfully on July 13. I was impressed with this delivery. They had two people inspect the units before they left the warehouse and they sent the delivery supervisor out to my house to personally supervise the delivery and installation to be sure nothing else went wrong. The supervisor and delivery men were thoroughly professional and very anxious to please me. In addition, Customer Service offered me a gift card for future purchases at Yale.

The story is laid out above. It did not go well.
Description of Work: I found the showroom to be large with lots of appliances on display. Yale Electric therefore seemed to be a very professional company. Since my installation wilI be a little tricky and would need experienced installers, and since I wanted to look forward to very professional service if needed, I chose to pay a little more and buy from Yale rather than from Home Depot or another dealer. I purchased the LG washer and dryer I wanted and scheduled the delivery. All of this (the buying and scheduling delivery) went well. The washer/dryer were delivered last Monday, but after uncrating the washer, the installers found it to be damaged so I sent them back and asked for a replacement. I also asked that the units be inspected BEFORE they were brought out to my house. The next delivery was scheduled for last Friday. Of course, this was the second time I had to schedule my day around Yale's delivery and the out-of -town company I had who had planned to use the washer/dryer during the week were also inconvenienced. On Friday, after the units were uncrated in my driveway, the installer notified me that the washer was severely dented. I sent the units back again. They're now scheduled for next Thursday delivery. I would have thought someone from Yale would call and at least apologize, but no call.

Great. They were efficient and professional. They listened to what I had attempted to do to fix the control board, then advanced to taking the next step. They determined the control board was broken and would need to be replaced. Using a computer they had with them, they learned the part was no longer in production and advised we purchase a new electric range. We received a credit to use at Yale Appliance, if we wished to purchase our appliance through them.
Description of Work: Two techs came out for a service call, to check up on fixing the control board (clock and buttons) on an old electric range.

This dishwashwer is finicky, overcomplicated, and overpriced (and this is coming from someone who works on volkswagens for fun), but that's not Yale's fault. Yale cleared the immediate problem as part of the basic service call (flat rate), showed me how to fix it if it happens again. The tech was up front about this dishwasher not being worth the maintenance, and I would certainly consider Yale for a replacement dishwasher.
Description of Work: I have a Fisher-Paykel "dish drawer", that's had some kind of problem every couple years. Yale came out to fix the most recent problem ("flooding", caused by a leaking lid seal), and after some evaluation, recommended not bothering to fix it. The tech dried out all the leaking water internally, and reset the "leak" fault. He also showed me how to clear the problem if it happens again, suggested only using the top (more functional/less leaky) drawer, and made a few recommendations for new, standard (non-drawer) dishwashers.

The refrigerator install went fairly smoothly, as far as we knew - but the space was a hair too tight for it. The installers went ahead and shoved it in there anyway, which has probably scratched the side of the unit, though we have not checked to be sure. We were in the home at the time, and would have appreciated some consultation with us before they did this. The dishwasher was much more problematic. They shipped and delivered the wrong unit, and kept pushing it on us at large discounts even though we made it very clear we were uninterested because it was missing the features we wanted most, and wasn't even as nice a unit as the one it was replacing. Getting the correct unit took a couple of weeks. We found the salesman and Yale's management to be unresponsive to our calls, nor was any attempt made to speed the process or even the delivery and installation of the correct unit, leaving us without a functioning dishwasher for about three weeks. After the correct unit was delivered and installed, we discovered that it had been done incorrectly: we had to hire a carpenter to repair the damage done by the Yale installers. In summary, while the appliances themselves are fine, the lack of professionalism, poor quality installation work and Yale's poor handling of the issues that arose means we will never work with them again and cannot recommend them to others.

I first apologize for whatever difficulties may have had with us. That being said, it is very hard to react to a recent comment to a purchase from October of 2009, on June 5, 2012. When an incorrect product is delivered, we give the customer a choice with an allowance or deliver the correct product usually within 48 hours. I really do not know what exactly happened or where the breakdown occurred. As far as the refrigerator is concerned, most refrigerators are 35.75 inches wide to fit a 36 wide cabinet, so they are designed to be extremely tight We again apologize for the inconvenience

We had an issue with our Kitchen-Aid wall mounted oven. There was something with the hinges that won't allow the door to stay closed. Kitchen-Aid won't admit it's a chronic issue and Yale Appliance said they are going to stop working on that particular model because of this issue.

Apologize for any inconvenience. We hate product issues more than customers do. We will work on any appliance regardless of age. The manufacturer will keep parts for 7 years. This oven is 9 plus years. We have three people in parts who will contact 10 different sources and post internet requests when all else fails. Sometimes parts are just not available. Then it is not possible to rectify a parts issue

Yale appliance has a beautiful show room and a great selection. I've heard really good things about the store, but, unfortunately, my salesperson really turned me off the experience. Once my sale went through, he was very difficult to reach regarding product and delivery questions. I had to leave several messages over three days before hearing back from him, though he had told me that he would email me that first day with the requested details. However, everyone else I spoke to (other sales people, customer service) was pleasant to deal with.

Terrible first delivery, second delivery went great
Description of Work: I'm revising my review of this company, after venting to my salesperson and the manager Steve Sheinkoff of the first delivery service I decided to give them a second chance They did step up and the second delivery went very well, the experience was what I would expect from Yale Electric I would consider using them again I ordered appliances over the phone after doing research on the models I wanted Samsung washer and dryer and 2 pedestals They did have them in stock and did price match Delivery is where nightmare started, delivery man let washer drop off truck instead on using lift, washer came defected with broken closer on door, I was told that there was an additional fee to have pedestals installed with respected pieces, nothing was mentioned with my salesperson when I ordered theses items One of the worst deliveries I have experienced in awhile Won't use them again

They are an excellent company. It went very well. Afterwards, they came on a number of service calls-no fault of theirs-related to the big power outtages in October. They showed up precisely on schedule, every time.

I was redoing my kitchen and was looking at appliances to replace the 25-year-old ones I had there (fridge, oven and dishwasher). I went to Yale even though one of my brothers has nothing good to say about them (bad products, crappy repair/warrantee service). I spoke to Vincent who was very knowledgeable and professional. I ended up buying four pieces from Yale (all the items listed above plus an over the oven microwave). I had to pay more than I budgeted for these appliances but they were Jenn-Air and Vincent assured me they were top-notch items. During the purchase process I asked at least 2-3 times whether or not the appliances could be delivered on a certain date. I was juggling appointments with the flooring guy and granite countertop crew and needed the appliances to be in by a certain date. The date was fine every time I asked -- absolutely no problem. Then, the minute I paid for the items, there was "a problem" -- only three of the items were in stock, but they could meet my delivery requirements. So the day before the items are to be delivered I did not receive a verification phone call from Yale telling me what time the items would be delivered. I was a little worried so first thing the next day (Friday, the day the appliances were to be delivered), I called -- customer service line was busy. I called back 10 minutes later -- still busy but I could wait on hold if I wanted. So I called back after a half hour or so and could still not get through. So I called some other line at Yale, got through to someone and after explaining my situation she said someone from customer service would call me in a few minutes. So a couple hours go by and still no phone call. I should mention that I took the day off work so I could be home to accept delivery. So someone finally calls me in the afternoon and informs me that there is no appointment for my appliances to be delivered because there was a mix-up with the delivery paperwork. I was SO p*****. So blah, blah, blah, they will deliver the next week and oh by the way, they won't be delivering three of the four pieces I paid for -- they will only be delivering two since they are out of stock of the third item as well as the fourth. I won't bore you with all the related conversations I had to have about this. I will say that nobody there felt it was a big deal at all to have to go through what I was going through -- all I I got was a "so what" attitude from the people I had to deal with. I am still p***** about the way I was treated and have left bad reviews on Yale on several websites. I will say that before all the delivery probs happened, they did honor their "price match" since I found the microwave somewhere else for $200 cheaper. Only prob was that as soon as they agreed to take $200 off my bill, the salesman told me that the dishwasher I ordered is really a piece of poop and I should buy this other one instead, which cost like $160 more, so my $200 savings disappeared. So that was my bad experience with Yale -- I got the other two pieces a couple weeks later and it threw off my scheduling with my contractors. As far as the Yale Appliance shopping experience, my salesman was a nice guy and as I stated, he was very knowledgeable. I have had other experiences there where, if you are not shopping for a $10K oven or fridge that costs more than a new car, the salespeople do not want to help you -- they treat you like you have the bubonic plague or something. Also, overall I think their prices are high but that's just me.

I found them on Angie’s List. They also do repairs. I was very happy with all of their service. They are reliable. Everything they said they were going to do they did. We haven't actually purchased it yet because we are waiting for April and hope to get a rebate. We have got printouts from them. The showroom is fantastic. They have a huge display and they are very knowledgeable about everything in the showroom. We had to wait for five minutes but it was such a good experience. We came home with the actual price of what it would be, and the prices were the same, and in some instances, better than other appliance stores.

This was a Rolls Royce appliance purchase and installation. The salesperson was extremely knowledgeable and helpful (Josh). His assistance in choosing the type of appliance and features I wanted was invaluable - I really appreciated his feedback on one applicance I had tentatively selected, based on refrigerator/freezer size, in terms of it having a poor service record. I had just purchased three additional new appliances from a different vendor and among other things the installation was an absolute nightmare. I had clear communication from Yale on what to expect and how to prepare before the date of delivery complete with a video - very helpful. I was quite nervous based on my recent experiences with the other appliances; I need not have worried. The refrigerator/freezer arrived without defect/s, the delivery people were early in terms of the window of time I had been given; they were polite, knew what they were doing, and in short order they had my old refrigerator out and my new one installed - with its ice maker all hooked up. They were careful to avoid damaging anything in the path of the refrigerator leaving and the one arriving. They cleaned up all the packing materials, made sure I was a "happy customer", and left with the new refrigerator humming nicely and in short order it started making ice. I highly recommend Yale and will absolutely buy from them in the future.
