We have been around since 1923 as a family-owned company and have survived and grown through Great and not so great depressions. We have always prided ourselves on being a truly service-oriented company, not just about an expansive 25,000 square foot display or even the sales expertise of highly trained salespeople. Service is not even about a low-pressure environment, where clients can choose between every major brand without the hassle or be protected by the industry's best price guarantee. It's quite simply actual service. Delivery and product service are the largest departments within Yale at 65 people and 25 vehicles. It is our commitment to you to deliver properly without damage and fix problem products quickly. Buying an appliance, lights, and plumbing at Yale is about sales and especially the service experience. They recommended a model for our needs. They told us the price. We went to another store to see the units and compare the prices. We decided that they had the best price. We bought the unit from them. We went through the rigmaroles to get all the rebates (applying for a store credit card). This was only a mild pain in the neck. They delivered it on time. The units are very good

We called Yale and they scheduled an appointment -- about a week later. It would have been better if it could have been sooner, but our schedule didn't coordinate. They showed up on time. The installation went quickly, except they connected the hot water to the cold water connection. We called to get this corrected, and they weren't particularly helpful at first. They suggested that we should just correct it. We felt that since we paid good money to get it installed right, that they should correct it. They told us that it would be 10 days before they could get back out. I called back to complain again, and they figured out a way to get somebody out the next morning.
Description of Work: We called them to install the stackable washer/dryer that we bought. We originally thought that our bathroom contractor would install the washer/dryer. He decided that it looked more complicated than he wished to tackle. He suggested that we get installed by the specialists.

We tried Yale Appliance after being disgusted with Sears, where we had purchased many previous appliances. We found that the service at Yale is excellent. The sales people are very knowledgeable and responsive to our concerns. We made one visit to check out what they have (as we will soon need other appliances in addition to the 3 we purchased), and purchased on a second visit. We were very concerned about energy efficient, but also learned about other issues we had not considered, such as whether there is a disposal in the dishwasher and whether or not an internal water heater would be useful to us in a clothes washer. We were looking in the middle price range--good quality but not the expensive European brands. In the end, we purchased a stackable front-loading Whirlpool washer and dryer and an LG dishwasher. Delivery was on the date and time promised. There were a few problems with delivery--a knife cut on one appliance from opening, the packaging left on our curb.
Description of Work: We purchased a new energy efficient dishwasher, clothes washer and dryer for our home from Yale Appliance & Lighting in Dorchester. We installed them ourselves. We did buy an extended warranty for the washer.

I had done research and basically knew what I wanted. I was searching for price and found Yale to be less expensive than a local store that quoted me ''discount prices''. The sales associate was very knowledgeable and friendly. Delivery was on time. The delivery men took great care not to damage doorways and floors. Altogether, it was a very positive experience.
Description of Work: I purchased a stove, over-the-range combo microwave/convection oven, refrigerator, and dishwasher.

They are very busy, but every time we go there the sales person spends as much time with us as we need. We got great advice on the kitchen remodel and would use them again. When we purchased the W&D we actually had bought a different set at one of the "tent sales", but when they attempted to deliver them they were too large to fit in our basement. Even though the tent sale was "final/no returns" they readily took the items back and credited us for the purchase which we used on a different (and smaller) set.
Description of Work: We purchased our entire Kitchen from Yale (Sub zero, Wolf range, Miele dishwasher) as well as our washer and dryer.

Very helpful but wanted convenience of gas stove installed (hooked up) as well as old appliance removed. Did not want to get plumber to disconnect old stove, then have new one delivered and have plumber make return visit. Would consider them for other appliances.

Salesperson was helpful at the time of the order but didn't communicate well with delivery staff. The delivery man came with an attitude as well as a truck too small to take away the old washer and dryer. He was unabashedly annoyed when he saw he had 3 flights of stairs to climb. In the end it didn't matter, because they couldn't do the removal. To help clarify my unique situation, I brought pictures to the store with me to show the location. I thought we were on the same page. At that point I was unabashedly annoyed and instead of rescheduling had them return everything. The customer support staff was great. They refunded everything with no questions asked. And I'm still waiting for a washer & dryer as the options for Bosch or Miele appliances in this town are extremely limited.
Description of Work: I had ordered a Miele washer and dryer. Needed something compact for a condo.

I had done pretty thorough research on washing machines and dryers and had a clear idea of the brand/model I wanted, so I didn't have to rely on Yale for a lot of help. However, the sales person was very knowledgeable and helpful (all business done over the phone). They had what I wanted in stock and delivered within a few days. The delivery was extremely prompt (the first minute of the delivery window!) and the guys very efficient and professional.

I BOUGHT THE DRYER OVER THE PHONE. THEY WERE VERY HELPFUL WITH RESCHEDULING THE DELIVERY TO COINCIDE WITH THE PLUMBER'S AVAILABILITY. THE DELIVERY PEOPLE WERE FABULOUS, ESPECIALLY IN GETTING OUR OLD DRYER OUT THROUGH AN (ALMOST) TOO SMALL DOOR. DELIVERY AND HAUL AWAY WERE INCLUDED IN THE PRICE, I JUST WISH THAT THEY WORKED WITH A PLUMBER SO I WOULDN'T HAVE HAD TO SCHEDULE TWO PLUMBER VISITS (ONE TO DISCONNECT THE OLD DRYER, ONE TO CONNECT THE NEW ONE.) OUR OVERALL EXPERIENCE WITH YALE WAS NOT GREAT. FINALLY, I CALLED AND THERE WAS AN ANSWERING MACHINE THAT SAID THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT WAS CLOSED. THEY NEVER APOLOGIZED.
