We have been around since 1923 as a family-owned company and have survived and grown through Great and not so great depressions. We have always prided ourselves on being a truly service-oriented company, not just about an expansive 25,000 square foot display or even the sales expertise of highly trained salespeople. Service is not even about a low-pressure environment, where clients can choose between every major brand without the hassle or be protected by the industry's best price guarantee. It's quite simply actual service. Delivery and product service are the largest departments within Yale at 65 people and 25 vehicles. It is our commitment to you to deliver properly without damage and fix problem products quickly. Buying an appliance, lights, and plumbing at Yale is about sales and especially the service experience. Because we purchased during a tax holiday, the store was crowded and we had to wait to see a salesperson. He was knowledgeable and able to answer all our questions, but the selection of products meeting our size needs was small. Installation and removal of old machines and cartons was done fast and professionally.

They guided us away from buying an imported model that is hard to get repaired. They delivered it exactly when the said they would, got it through our narrow doors and installed it in our narrow kitchen.

Yale is by far the best appliance and lighting store in Boston area, well worth the trip from anywhere. Not only do they match advertised pricing from places like home improvement stores, but also their service is absolutely unmatched. I would highly recommend these folks.

The salesperson I worked with knew her products and was able to answer all of my questions easily. I appreciated her candor when helping me choose an oven and dishwasher. Evidently they had had a number of returns on the oven that I had originally wanted. She let me know about the issues and helped me select an oven, cooktop, and dishwasher that I still love four years later.

Yale was great. It's a bit of a zoo on weekends, but we went there with our architect who led us through the maze of products and helped us narrow down our decisions. The sales staff there are really helpful as well. The gentleman we worked with was professional and very knowledgeable. After we bought our appliances we also went back to Yale to have their chef demo some of the appliances and walk us through using them. Very helpful.

They delivered all of the appliances on time. There was one problem with getting the fridge up the stairs where they accidentally bumped. They immediately brought it back to the store and gave me another one in just one week's time. The crew did an excellent job of bringing my old appliances back to the store. I was amazed how well they worked together and did not damage to my floors. I just remodeled my kitchen and it went without a hitch. The sales person at the store, William Hanley, beat the prices of all of the appliances where a home improvement store was going to charge me more money. I got my rebates as well on the appliances. They work well. Thanks Yale.

Best showroom around so you can see everything, and get a feel for how the appliances work. That was the difference for us - it allowed us to decide between different models we had researched on the internet. They did forget to deliver our wall oven, but did a special trip for us at a specific time (rather than a 4 hour window) when we alerted them. They have a price guarantee, so if you can find better prices elsewhere they will match it, and their service and showroom are fantastic.

Visited Yale Electric & Lighting. After looking at refrigerator area on our own, we quickly were connected with sales person. Sales person answered questions. We knew we wanted Amana due to good experience with the one being replaced. Sales person helped to identify plus and minus features about different styles (i.e. freezer on top, freezer on bottom, freezer on side); also, about various added features such as ice maker. Helped to identify appropriate size for space available (we brought measurement of old refrigerator as well as available space). After selecting model, paperwork and payment factors were dealt with professionally and easily. Yale Electric & Lighting had good feature of setting up account with 12 months to pay without interest; item must be paid within the 12 months in order to avoid interest amounts (probably many companies offer this). Also, Yale Electric & Lighting removes old appliance when delivering and installing newly purchased one. Delivery and installation went smoothly.

All in all things went well. In my back-and forth of ordering, setting up delivery, etc., I had one VERY long wait on hold. Other calls were OK. They also took my order for a white machine, then called back to say that the machine was not in stock. The delivery went great: They showed up on time and were friendly and helpful. They also called to follow up the next day, to make sure things went well.

We had to wait 30 minutes before a salesperson saw us. He spent about 15 minutes with us and was reasonably helpful but we had to check a door measurement before making a final decision. I called and left a message on his voice mail the next day (Tuesday) and again on Thursday. He did not return my calls. I came away with the feeling that Yale is primarily interested in major high-end sales, and has less interest in selling a $600.00 dryer. We bought our new dryer from AAA Appliance and had great service.
Description of Work: My wife and I went to the Yale showroom to purchase a gas dryer.

The process went well. My salesperson was helpful. We did have a lot of trouble with the new Bosch washing machine. It required about six calls and three repair visits, during which time I spent about $100 going to the laundromat because the washing machine was not working. Most recently, the washing machine was out of order for 3 weeks while we waited for a part. The part was supposed to have come in, but no one called us about it, so we followed up with a call. Yale at first was going to make us wait further for the part and then to schedule the repair, but then said they would replace the machine, which they did within four days. While I am sad that I had to spend many hours and dollars at the laundromat after purchasing a new washing machine, I am pleased that they finally replaced it.
Description of Work: I purchased my ovens, stove, refrigerator, washer and dryer from Yale. They installed the appliances.

The repair person who came out did a very good job. Even though he was unable to locate the problem, the company sent out a replacement dishwasher at no charge. The cost listed is an estimated cost for both the dishwasher and stove.
Description of Work: We've gone to them for appliance sales and they also repair what they sell. Most recently we bought a new stove from them as well as a dishwasher. The dishwasher developed some problems after installation.

This company is plain old good. They know how to get the business and move it out. I think also being close to where they physically are is helpful for my husband and I. For deliveries, they are good too because they either hit you early in the morning or they will come back later in the day. They are convenient. I have a disability and I have found them be very accommodating.
Description of Work: We purchased a large amount of appliances from this sales center recently because we have been doing a ton of remodeling and upgrades at our house. It was here we recently got a washer, dryer and stove for the tenant home's house on our property.

If you buy three or more appliances, go to Yale because they give you such a big discount and they carry everything from the cheapest brand to the most expensive. It is amazing how much they cram in there. They're great there. I like them a lot. They have a great selection. They don't really have a lot of mock kitchens and stuff like that set up in there, but they really are good to buy from.

One of the very nice things about this company is that they take away your old appliance away after you buy a new one from them. They stand behind their products and they sell quality things also. I find the prices to be the most reasonable in this area. I have positive things to report about this company to my local community.
Description of Work: We got all new appliances in kitchen from Yale. One of those appliances was a new refrigerator. Well, we got it home and it wasn't properly cooling foods. Yale came out to do repairs. They were unable to repair it, so they up and replaced it for us without charging us anything.

It is quite obvious that we were in the market for purchasing a lot of items at once, so we wanted a place that was going to give us a good price. That was our biggest goal. This place did that and much more. They were helpful. We have had no problems with the things we got from them. They all look great and so as of now, we really like this company to be quite honest.
Description of Work: We recently bought a new Sub Zero refrigerator, a Kitchen Aid dishwasher, a DCS cook top, an oven and a warming drawer from this local sales center in our area. All of our appliances are under warranty.

Yale Appliance And Lighting came back twice to try to repair our refrigerator. They ended up replacing it but since it was still under warranty we didn't have to pay for it. We did, however, have to pay for the trips here and a service fee. They were professional and responsive.
Description of Work: We had them come to repair our Subzero refrigerator when the internal compressor went out. They were unable to repair it, so they replaced it.

I will buy all of my appliances in the future form this company for several reasons: they have decent prices, great service and they stand by their products. They are just very good. I would describe them as being great in fact. I like them very much.
Description of Work: I bought my new washer from this company. Shortly thereafter, it was making banging noises that were very loud. They came out to take a look at the unit and see what was wrong. It was making noise and off balance and they basically could not fix it. They gave me a totally new unit free of charge.

I was happy with this appliance repair company. I mean, I was just looking for a place to come and fix my refrigerator so that I would have a unit that was working and they did that for me. As I recall, they go to me in a pretty quick period of time too and I liked that. They are affordable and they do good work, so I have all good stuff to say about them.
Description of Work: Yale Appliance fixed our refrigerator. It was having a multitude of problems. I really can't tell you precisely what the problems were or really explain it because it was kind of complex. They replaced some parts and the unit was up and usable and functional again by the time they were done with it.

They are a fabulous company! They are hardworking and independent as well. I would recommend them to anyone in a heartbeat. He was a great knowledgeable informant to us and the prices are always reasonable as well.
Description of Work: They installed five different kinds of lights in my kitchen. Some were direct, some were pendants and some were under the counter lights. They also installed a lot of recessed lighting throughout as well.

Everything went really well. They re very competitively priced and open everyday of the week. The showroom is very extensive and has top of the line appliances. You can purchase and hold an order, which is very helpful.

Our salesperson was very knowledgeable and very helpful throughout. We had multiple deliveries of these products due to the staging of the project. All were done within a matter of days, and on-time. The same day as the deliveries we got follow-up calls from Yale asking if everything went well. We had several problems; a defective range hood, and an adjustment that needed to be made to the range itself. All were taken care of within a reasonable period of time, and to our satisfaction.

The salesman was excellent and knowledgeable, and it was delivered during the first minute of the delivery window. We had a problem with hooking up the dryer and called about the problem, which was not fixed with the usual trouble shooting tips in the manual. The service tech was unavailable due to a medical emergency, so we waited a few days. Finally he had a chance to call us, and said he was too busy to come out, but gave us a few more ideas of what to try. When none of those things worked, he figured that there was a defective part, and ordered it, still not having come to look at the dryer, but gave us one last thing to try. This last tip ended up working, but caused a fire. We called and left a message saying that the dryer worked, but asked for the tech to come inspect due to the fire. After a week of leaving messages, we started using the dryer. After many weeks, we got a call asking if we needed the part. We said no, but would like the tech to call us. He has not.
Description of Work: New washer and gas dryer purchase and delivery.
