We have been around since 1923 as a family-owned company and have survived and grown through Great and not so great depressions. We have always prided ourselves on being a truly service-oriented company, not just about an expansive 25,000 square foot display or even the sales expertise of highly trained salespeople. Service is not even about a low-pressure environment, where clients can choose between every major brand without the hassle or be protected by the industry's best price guarantee. It's quite simply actual service. Delivery and product service are the largest departments within Yale at 65 people and 25 vehicles. It is our commitment to you to deliver properly without damage and fix problem products quickly. Excellent company. They fulfilled their warranty responsibilities in an exemplary manner. When others would have attempted to by-pass or question the validity of the warranty, they simply checked that it was still in force and serviced the unit, no questions asked. I would definitely purchase my next appliance from them. My only regret is that they don't service A/C units.
Description of Work: Dishwasher was broken. Within warranty limit. I called and they came and fixed it, at no charge.

The sales representatives were friendly and honest (I worked mostly with Neil), checking on any questions I asked that they didn't know the answers to. I did not feel rushed through the decision process. The selection of washers and dryers was adequate. Delivery was well-done, though having to take the whole day off work because they could not specify a delivery time was inconvenient.

We wanted to get a Weber grill in time for Memorial Day. Not only were Yale's prices competitive with (actually a little cheaper than) the big box stores, Yale (unlike the Home Depot and Lowes) offered free delivery. I called Yale to see which models they had in stock, and Sonia in the sales dept. took the time to walk me through the various models. She even -- without my asking -- looked at the delivery schedule to make sure that the grill could be delivered before the holiday. The delivery guys were prompt, professional, and very efficient. They hauled a giant grill up to our second-floor deck without complaint, put together the monster in less than 20 minutes, and hauled all the trash away. They were hands-down the best delivery guys ever. Sure, the Yale showroom is not in the nicest area of town, but the whole experience was well worth the trek. We'd happily get all of our appliances from them from now on.

more expensive than buying from sears or bestbuy, but well worth it -- when you consider the hassles of getting something installed, dealing with delivery people etc. Pay a little more for a lot less hassle.

Great company, great service. Really helpful salesperson, and wide selection of appliances. Price seemed right where I was expecting and $199 for delivery, installation and removing old appliance seems fair to me. Delivery guys showed up on time and installed the new machine in 30 minutes. Will be going back there anytime I need a new appliance.

Yale is our appliance vendor of choice. Great service, competitive pricing, and really helpful people all around. The appliance salesperson was the same one who sold us our kitchen appliances 7 years ago.
Description of Work: Showed us clothes washers that qualify for the MassSave "clunker" rebate and arranged delivery and haul away of old washer. The washer delivery was scheduled for the following Wednesday. They were going to deliver it in the late afternoon but had a cancellation so called to see if it was okay to come early. They installed the new washer, ran it through a quick test, and hauled away the old washer. While we were at the store, we asked a lighting salesperson about repairs to a pendant light we bought there a few years ago; he looked us up in the computer and told us to bring it in and it's covered by warranty. So we will take it back rather than pay the local lighting repair place to repair it.

I feel like like an advertisement for Yale. Unlike so many stores, you don't have to search for sales help; when you step into the store there's a greeter asking if you want help. The floor was stocked with many many items -- notably including the items I planned to buy after reading in Consumer Reports. (Other stores had told me these items were no longer available.) The salesman was knowledgeable and professional. The paperwork was readable and useful. The delivery happened as promised. There was an oops -- the delivery guy noticed a ding in the fridge door. On the spot, he offered us a discount or replacement. When we chose replacement he told us an approximate delivery date. Then, before he had time to get back to the store, we got a call from the store correcting the approximate delivery date. I'm not happy about the ding or about the incorrect delivery date. On the other hand, I am very impressed that the delivery person was able to handle the transaction and that his office called so quickly with the updated information. Don't go anyplace else!

Excellent! Twice we walked out of the store having spent less money than we intended with a higher quality product. Their reps are not comp'ed on commission and genuinely try to help you get the most appropriate product. Extremely knowledgeable and also up to speed on cutting edge, like LED lighting. We had a service call for a GE refrigerator immediately after install (it never worked), and they replaced entire unit. We've also had service calls for less serious GE stove problems and they have already made two visits with third scheduled for Monday, all under warranty with no questions asked. Service reps try to provide other helpful tips when on-site, like how to maintain products.

I did this purchase over the phone. I have a very tight space for my laundry center. From the time of the sale to the actual delivery, the removal and installation went very well without a problem.
Description of Work: Purchased a condensation stackable front load washer/dryer along with an extended service plan for each. They removed the old vented stacked washer/dryer and installed the new washer/dryer without a problem.

The salesman, Russ Greenblatt, was very knowledgeable and patient and checked with the distributor several times to provide accurate information about the retrofit of cherry panels from the old model onto the new Sub-Zero. He provided answers to questions I hadn't thought to ask. I also appreciated that Yale picks up from the distributor daily and was able to schedule the installation on a day's notice - helpful because the old appliance was on its last legs. The installers were actually earlier than the two hour window. They were extremely professional and spent a tremendous amount of time to get everything right. This was not easy because there were some minor differences between the old version and the new model that necessitated some improvising on the installers' part, especially when the side wood panels did not fit. What they did went above and beyond what they were required to do and I'm very appreciative of their efforts. I felt they really went the extra mile, They were also very careful in moving the appliances in and out of the house, including moving a 550 pound stone table in the breakfast area to maneuver the appliances. After they left, I discovered that the power in the refrigerator suddenly went off. I called the sales manager at Yale and after some trouble-shooting he told me they would have a tech there between 2 and 5 pm. In the interim, I discovered that the problem was that there are two wall outlets behind the refrigerator - one for lights mounted on top of the unit (which the installers removed and replaced) that plug into an outlet controlled by a wall switch and a separate outlet for the refrigerator. The two plugs had been inadvertently switched, an easy mistake, and as soon as they left I turned the wall switch off - and the refrigerator along with it! This still required a technician, since I couln't get to the outlets. The technician named Dave came and switched the plugs. At the same time, he noticed that my storm door was slamming. When I said I thought it needed an adjustment but I wasn't sure how to fix it, he said, "Oh, I can do that," and proceeded to adjust the storm door. Needless to say, I'm extremely pleased with the exceptional service. I'm not sure that the prices are better than anyplace else, but the total experience exceeded my expectations and I plan to shop for other appliances there in the future.

Call ahead to talk to a sales person and make sure of a good time to go. They give you a pager when you get there and you can look around until a salesperson is ready to talk with you.
Description of Work: I got a really good deal on a stainless steel side by side refrigerator/freezer. It is Energy Star so I'll be getting rebates back in the mail. The price beat out the department store sales. They delivered it two days after the sale, and removed the old broken one. The delivery guys were even early. The price I listed above includes delivery and tax. There were a lot of other models there that were much more expensive but I got lucky.

Fantastic. Was able to schedule an appointment within a week of calling. Their worker was professional and courteous. He showed up on time, quickly assessed the problem and rendered the repair. He needed to order the bulb replacement as they do not stock it, and he was back in two business days as promised to complete the job.

I did a lot of research on front loading washers and dryers and wanted to buy the Whirlpool Duets, but read some poor reviews. I contacted Yale and they talked through my goals for the machines and where they would be placed and helped me make a model choice. They got me really good information about the models and how to avoid the things people were complaining about online (e.g., some people complain of mildew, but often this is because they use regular detergent instead of high efficiency). The washer and dryer were delivered with HE detergent and fabric softener (a $70 value!!) and the guys took away our old Kenmore. Unfortunately, they banged up our stairwell when removing the old machine, but Yale reimbursed us for the damage in a week. Amazingly professional and super helpful. I love these guys!

They came to fix the refrigerator but it needed a part. They showed me how to try to turn it on with a screw driver--it kept going on and off and leaking on my floor. The part wasn't replaced until 5 days later. The new part didn't fix the problem and they came out again, said it needed another new part and it took several days to get that part. The appliance still didn't work properly after 4 visits, several hundred dollars spent and two weeks--and all this time it had been leaking on my floor. I couldn't stand it anymore and bought a new refrigerator from them and the doors don't close--I think this is because the leaking damaged the floor so severely because the old one had been leaking for nearly three weeks before the new one arrived and they didn't level the new one properly when they installed it. I complained to them about the floor and they take no responsibility for it because the refrigerator leaked, even though it didn't start leaking until they started trying to fix it unsuccessfully.

They delivered and installed the new appliances and took away the old ones. After looking around, Yale had really good packages and we upgraded with them. They have a very nice showroom to be able to choose the available products from. It helps to visualize. I would use them again in the future if needed.

They have a good selection and the service was excellent. You have to make an appointment with the salesman when you get there. There is a waiting line, and so you know exactly how long you have to wait. The salesman was knowledgeable and attentive, and their price was about average. When they installed the appliance, they showed up on time, installed it quickly and efficiently, and they cleaned up after themselves.

Decided to visit their showroom for lighting as well as kitchen sink faucet on Saturday, March 14 after reviewing Angie's List. Upon arrival, the receptionist informed us that if we required sales assistance, we would need to register. As we weren't sure what the showroom had to offer, we declined. Walked around the showroom and determined, since general product information was not readily available(specifically with several faucets) we visited the front desk and were added to the list for a salesperson. The receptionist was unwilling to gauge how long the wait would be...After waiting a little over a half-hour, met with a salesperson who provided us with information on kitchen sink faucets, by telling us some product information. Upon request for literature on the products available through the store, was directed to "go on the vendor website". This interaction with the salesperson took about 10 minutes. As we were now ready for lighting assistance, the salesperson said the he was unable to help us and that we needed to go back to the front desk and re-register. He explained that the sales people were broken into 2 groups: one that handled appliances and the other handled lighting. At the front desk, we were told there was a wait for an electrical salesperson and explained that we had already waited a half hour for the "appliance" salesperson. We declined "the opportunity" to go back on the list and left the store.

We were pleased that they carried the appliances we needed. We were looking for a ventless dryer, and we knew they carried the particular brand we wanted. We also needed a stove top oven because ours broke. They were happy to deliver the washer and dryer and recommended that we hire a contractor to pick up and install the stove because the contractor would need to cut into our counter top to install the unit. We plan to use them again. They are very well known in the community to provide high quality service.
Description of Work: We purchased a washer, dryer, and a stove from this store. We choose a Bosch set and a Jennair stove and oven.

Great experience. Went to the showroom and browsed; when I was ready, asked for Sales help. Bill Hanley answered our questions and provided brand comparison info - with no sales pressure. Once we decided what to buy, I called Bill. He handled the purchase over the phone and set up the delivery. We purchased a package and got a quality pair with more features then expected for the best price.

They arrived promptly and proceeded to unload the appliances. They made quick work of putting the old ones in the hallway and making sure they did not leave the door open (so cats would not get out). They were kind enough to let me quickly clean behind the appliances. That helped. What wasn't good is that we were notified for the appointment by an auto attendant. At no time did anyone spec out what we really needed so it came to install day and they did not have a long enough hose for the washer nor a long enough dryer vent duct. They don't carry enough with them to account for the unknowns and they were not willing to let me quickly go to a home improvement store. We eventually got to a middle ground where they charged us another span of duct work. Otherwise I would have had to finish the install on my own time! There was no room for negotiation at that point. Therefore I went with more duct because we'd have enough to get to the window and they were willing to re-use some of the existing clamp hardware that was more robust than what was in the kit. I was overall disappointed with this install as I wanted to be able to unscrew the duct at the window and clean it, if need be. I felt I was not consulted before hand to prevent the issues that showed up. I can't imagine that everyone has exactly the right dimensions or ideal setup.
Description of Work: Based on a recommendation we approached Yale Appliance and Lighting to cart away old washer and dryer and install new washer and dryer.
