I was very pleased with the service overall. I liked that they came when I called and they did whatever they said that they were going to do. I also think that they stuck with the quote. They did not go up or down on it.
Description of Work: I used Topnotch Woodworks probably within the last two months for tree service.

I found Ken's ad in the Stoughton Penny Saver and was intrigued by the description of "Old School climbing and rigging, no machines on your lawn!" since I'd had a bad experience with another tree service company who could not get their machines where they needed to due to fencing and land grade. Ken promptly returned my call and arranged for a site visit the next day. Ken came out and allayed my concerns about the tree I had called about which groaned in the wind recently but pointed out some other problem trees, some of which I knew about and some I did not. i received an excellent quote andwithin a week and a half Ken and his colleague (also Ken) were here. the other Ken spotted a few more dangerous limbs so we went over the quote by $150 but I was fine with it. the work was done as described - using ropes, pulleys, polesaws, chainsaws and some lumberjack style manouvers. It was all fascinating to watch. the trees were taken down gently and carefully so as not to damage property. One tree (the rotten one) was very near the property line and I know he was worried about his bushes, but not a scratch! To top it off - one of the trees they were taking down had an active woodpecker's nest in it. They gently lowered the tree so as not to disturb the creatures, sawed the section out of the tree, carried it to a nearby tree, roped it, and hoisted it to the same level it sat at before in the hopes that the parents would return to the nest. We watched with baited breath and lo and behold the woodpeckers returned and began to feed their chicks. Truly above and beyond! True woodsmen - I would never use anyone else.
Description of Work: Removed one dangerously rotted tree, removed one tree leaning over house, trimmed multiple branches leaning over house.
