They are furniture seller. They were slightly inattentive. I like their collection and style. I guess I just disliked the interaction with the staff.

The salesperson was very nice and helpful, telling us that we could always buy it and have it delivered and if it wasn't right for us we could return it, and that we'd just have to pay return shipping. We noticed that the arm on one of the arm chairs on the floor sample was loose, but the salesperson assured us that the manufacturer was one that they were very happy with, and the furniture was of the highest quality, and that the arms might just have to be tightened every once in a while. Despite out hesitation, we went ahead and ordered the furniture. The sales staff was very nice and friendly and seemingly accommodating during the transaction, and were even willing to work with us re: delivery date, to coincide with our holilday plans. We were very impressed. The furniture was delivered on schedule, and seemingly arrived in good condition. We subsequently noticed that the cushion seat on one of the chair was very firm compared to the others, and was really uncomfortable. But we figured it might break in over time. We soon decided that the furniture was not right for our room, as we feared, so decided to return it. Boston Interiors was very accommodating in setting up the pickup schedule, and arrived when planned. When 4-6 wks went by and we hadn't seen a refund on our credit card, we called to check on the status. We were informed that Boston Interiors does not provide refunds, only store credit. They claimed we had been told this during the purchase process, which none of us recalled (3 of us were there that day). Nor do we recall seeing any notices in the store to this effect. We did then look at the paperwork we signed, and sure enough, on the back amidst all the information was "store credit only". We called to discuss this to see if they would be willing to change this policy since we hadn't been informed during the transaction, but they claimed that they had told us, and that they would not consider changing their policy. So now we feel that they are holding our money hostage, and that we now HAVE to spend it at a company we do not trust and we know uses deceptive business practices. Don't be fooled by the friendliness and assurances from the sales staff. They are clearly more intersted in selling furniture than in customer satisfaction or customer support. We most definitely will NOT consider buying furniture from them again in the future.
Description of Work: We purchases a dining room table and chairs from Boston Interiors in November 2011, knowing the we weren't quite sure that it was right for our dining room.

We purchased our couch in October for December delivery. It did not arrive until January. In addition, it arrived covered in lint, with ripped cambric fabric underneath and with dozens of loose threads hanging from almost every seam, as well as a set of poorly made arm covers that were also covered in lint and loose threads. We complained about the couch in person and over the phone several times and Boston Interiors insisted on sending out a technician to service the couch. In the week it took for us to coordinate the technician's visit to the house, the seat cushions also settled into a warped shape and the material began to bunch on the front of the pillows. The service technician was professional and very nice. He came out to fix the threads and cambric, but recommended in his report that the seat cushion cores should be replaced. As far as we were concerned, this was unacceptable for a new couch. We paid for a new couch and it should have arrived in new and pristine condition and not required repairs of any kind. We were willing to give Boston Interiors the opportunity to fix the initial cosmetic problems, but were not willing to have cushion cores replaced on a week old couch that was obviously poorly made, as well as delivered in such shoddy condition. Our calls to speak to the service manager went unanswered and we ended up having to lodge a complaint with the Better Business Bureau to resolve the issue. Boston Interiors tried to say that we were at fault and suffered from buyer's remorse because of the couch's color, rather than that our dissatisfaction stemmed from the fact that they delivered us a couch that was not in new and pristine condition. Following intervention from the Better Business Bureau, Boston Interiors ultimately picked up the couch and reimbursed us for our expenses related to the purchase. However, in our opinion, the problem never should have had to be turned over to the Better Business Bureau in the first place. We had previously done business with Boston Interiors and had been happy to purchase from them again. If they could have just stepped up to the plate from the start and admitted that this couch did not meet the expectations of a new piece of furniture (i.e. not need repairs or part replacements), rather than make us jump through hoops to prove that it was unsatisfactory, we would have been disappointed, but willing to do business with them in the future. As it is, we can no longer recommend this company.
