ALLPHASE CONSTRUCTION

A nightmare. The demo began, started and stopped again. GC started work without permits. GC represented himself as licensed and insured, he wasn't. GC hired sub-contractors that were not licensed. GC wrongfully removed property from the house. GC demanded payments earlier than stated in the contract and when I refused, he abandoned the project. After five months and all of the above the demo is still not complete.

This was a terrible experience overall. After five months of trying to get him to show up and finish the project, we ended up having to fire him and find someone else to finish. Although many of his employees did good work, Ed himself was extremely unreliable. Over and over, he promised to have workers or materials or subcontractors there on a certain day, then failed to show up. He asked for payment in advance on numerous things, promising that they would be there the next day, and then didn't deliver. He kept asking for more money, saying he had to pay his subs or they wouldn't come back to finish. He had some great subs, and some not so good, but the overall management of the project was horrible.

CONSUMER BEWARE! This GC is unreliable. He lies. Doesn't report for work when promised. Doesn't return calls or pages. Supplies are lacking. Promises experts for custom work but has own men do work. Time estimates are WAY off. What was supposed to be a 2 or 3 week job is now in its 5th month and the project isn't near completion. One of my bathrooms has only wallboard up -- no fixtures, tile, electric, etc. The other bathroom has a wall mounted toilet that is too high, tile and grout that hasn't been sealed, no caulking, a shoddy and incomplete paint job, no trim work, a sink that occasionally leaks, a heated floor that doesn't work, and his electrician left exposed live electric wires. Ed asked for money advance mid project b/c couldn't pay his workers. Later, asked for portion of the final payment, totally illegal. He let his HIC registration expire. I notified him 2 mos ago, but still hasn't renewed. SAVE YOURSELF THE AGGRAVATION, hire someone else.
