Middlesex Builders

My husband and I found an ad for Middlesex Builders on craigslist, which had a link to their website so I used the contact us page on their site to get in touch. Troy, the business owner called us back about two days later and I invited him to take a look at the kitchen. I asked him to come the next day, but he explained that he had a very busy week, and asked if he could come on the weekend when he would have more time. I was a little disappointed that he couldn't come sooner, I think it was a Monday, because I had a bid from another company, and they were pushing me to sign a contract that week. However, I was happy that I waited. Troy was more personable than the other contractor and spent about 2 hours with my husband and I going over ideas for the kitchen/bath. One thing I liked was that Troy said I didn't have to give a deposit until they started the work, and two other contractors asked for a deposit at the time of signing the contract, even though they weren't going to start the work for several weeks. In the end the work came out very nicely. Once they started they worked everyday, and did their best to clean up at the end of the day. This was our only bathroom, and we only had to shower elsewhere for one day. I was very concerned about this aspect of the job, but Troy set the shower up temporarily with plastic while they were doing the tile work. We did notice that in one of the glass tiles in the backsplash there was a small crack. Troy apologized for this and came back to replace it. This was my only real complaint with them, and I think it was an honest mistake.
