Electronic panel in dishwasher was acting strangely, emitted burning smell one day, and dishwasher had started making really loud noise. I called the company on a Thursday or Friday, had excellent customer service on phone, and was able to schedule an appointment for Monday during a two hour window. On first trip, the right part was not in the truck, but they were able to order it and have it the next day and fit me in for an appointment that worked with my schedule. Repairman was prompt, friendly, helpful and clear on both occasions. Part itself was expensive but service was not. I'd definitely recommend this company and use them again. 90 day warrantee covers the work as well.

Our refrigerator had not been producing cool air for about a week so I called Boston & Cambridge Appliance Repair on a Saturday morning to set up an appointment. They were at my house within an hour and had it fixed about an hour after that. Tony was great. He knew exactly what needed to be done and where everything was (the problem was definitely not something we could have fixed easily on our own or even been able to diagnosis). He was very efficient and nice. I will definitely call this company next time one of my appliances breaks. They were a great value for their service.

Excellent. We called yesterday and got an appointment for today. They gave us a time window of 12-2:00, and the serviceman came at 1:00. He inspected the oven, and immediately diagnosed the problem as being the electronic igniter. He had the part in his truck and completed the work in 15 minutes. The company gave us a 90 day warrantee. I would hightly recommend this company to other members of Angie's List. Note* We had first called Yale Electric in Dorchester and were informed we would have to wait two weeks before they had an available serviceman.

Called on Wed. Two days of phone tag & set a Saturday appointment which was best fit for me. Technician (I think Bill) was professional, personable and made sure all things were back where I wanted when done. Excellent job and service.

Although they were able to come to my house the same day I called for service and quickly diagnose the issue, they had to return the following day as they didn't keep the particular replacement parts on the truck. They arrived within the stated time window on both days and the repair was finished promptly. The final price, however, was a little more than 10 percent higher than the initial estimate.

we had a good experience with boston & cambridge appliance repair. they scheduled an appointment for my washing machine for the next day. came on time and fixed it. repair man was familiar with machine. told my husband not to wash any bathmats with rubber backing and we can do our mountain of laundry.

After our dishwasher leaked, we looked at Angie's List and found Boston & Cambridge. We called to schedule an estimate for repairing our appliance and we were given an appointment for the next day, which we were happy about. We were quoted a fixed charge of $60 (actually $59.99) for a diagnosis of our dishwasher, and should we decide to fix our unit. Two employees of the company came to our home within the appointment window. Yet right from the start they seemed in an extreme hurry and did not introduce themselves at all. Upon jogging to my kitchen, noticing that we had taken our dishwasher from under the counter to dry our floors, and so that access would be easier, one of the repairmen gleefully told us that they were going to have charge extra to put the dishwasher under the counter. Without any hesitation they removed the dishwasher's door's front cover and shortly thereafter began to move the appliance. At this point I interrupted and asked what the price would be to move the dishwasher under the counter. I was told that they would charge $50 extra. I politely pointed out that I was not informed of this charge. In turn, they scolded me for moving the dishwasher. I indicated that if having the dishwasher under the counter was a requirement and if this would result in nearly doubling the estimate from $60 to $110 then it was only fair and professional to mention this upfront on the phone. I also questioned why it was so necessary to put the dishwasher under the counter if after all it was quite possible to hook up all electrical and water lines without moving the unit. Further by not moving the appliance we would have the advantage of being able to see around and underneath the dishwasher as it operated. The repairmen insisted in moving the appliance and in their extra charge so I was forced to indicate to them that this was not acceptable and asked them to leave. At this point the repairmen jogged away from my home and left behind my dishwasher without its faceplate --did not bother to put it back as it was. Now a company can certainly charge any fees they want if they inform the customer ahead of time. Further quoting $50 for a job that would take about 5 minutes, 10 minutes at most is not right. My experience seems to have been an anomaly given so many good reports in the List for this company, but in my case my experience was poor.

Fast and friendly service. They responded right away and offered to come the same day; I chose to schedule the repair for the following week. The rep called to let me know when he was on his way, arrived during the time window promised, and fixed the problem quickly. I would definitely use this company again.

They were in and out and solved the problem in less than a half hour. They knew what they were talking about. I was worried about Sub-Zero and if they knew how it worked. They went right at it and fixed it and knew exactly what they were doing.

Serviceman quickly recognized that the dishwasher was not installed properly, and recommended a way to rectify this. A previous repairman had simply tried to replace a door seal-an irrelevant approach.

Because of limited space we own an ASKO stacking washer/ dryer which is a difficult product to maintain & service. Boston & Cambridge Appliance Repair promptly responded to my service call and they fixed my washer problems in a timely, professional & friendly manner. I am pleased that we have finally found a business that is local, responsive and interested in servicing this product line.

The technician was very professional and prompt.

The guy that came was helpful, friendly and professional. He quickly found and fixed the problem. I also used them a few months earlier to look at an over-stove extractor that was inefficient and a freezer ice maker that wasn't working. They fixed the ice maker but couldn't make any real improvements to the extractor though they tried very hard. We concluded it's probably a very poor design.

I called BCAR and scheduled the appointment a few days in advance. The guy arrived promptly, identified the problem immediately, and fixed one of our dryers. He also suggested that the problem was probably occurring in the other dryer as well. I thought we only needed the one fixed, so he left, but after checking with my husband discovered I was supposed to ask him to fix the second one as well! So I called him back and he came right over - I really appreciated the response after my mistake! He fixed them quickly and efficiently. This is the second time I've used BCAR - their repair people are all so knowlegable and honest (telling me when its better to invest in a new washing machine than to have them fix the transmission for $300) - I will continue to use them for large appliances.

I called them and two hours later they were here. They said they'd come between 12 and 2. They were here at 12:20. They looked at the oven, identified the problem, fixed it, and were done in 10 minutes.

The installation went well though it was a little more in depth than I or they had anticipated. The work they did presented some challenges they were able to fix without even having to notify me. They did not charge extra for the extra labor.

They were great. Their price was reasonable. They were efficient in doing the repair. They fixed the washer on the day we called them.

My stovetop wasn't lighting, so I called on a Saturday morning. Within two hours a repairman came. He spent about 45 minutes and was able to get the stovetop to light, but noted that, if the problem occurred again, a part needed to be replaced. About a week later, the problem started again, so I called on a Monday. I was told that the part needed to be ordered and a repairman would come later in the week. I waited one full week without hearing from them, so I called again the following Monday. There was some confusion about the exact part that was needed. I was told the part would be in in a day or two. On Wednesday, I was called and told that the part was in and a repairman would be by on Thursday between noon and 2pm. Thursday, the repairman showed up around 2:45 and replaced the part. It worked well for about two days, but now two of four burners aren't lighting. All told, I spent about $300, waited several weeks, and it still doesn't work properly.

These guys were SO honest, they could have taken advantage of my lack of knowledge, but they told me what was going on and how to take care of it myself. They didn't charge any labor or anything, just a service charge of $49.95. And they showed up exactly when they said they would. I love them AND Angie's list!

I called Boston and Cambridge Appliance Repair at 9:00 AM on Saturday hoping that they would be able to fix our refrigerator that day since I have a very tight work schedule. A technician came out to my home at 10:30 AM but he was unable to complete the repair because he did not have the parts in his truck. When asked if anything could be done that day since it was so early and the loss of groceries, the technician had a myriad of reasons why it couldn't be done. I begrudgingly scheduled a follow up visit on Monday. I was very disappointed in his lack of effort and aggravated as he didn't really make any effort to find the parts we needed from another source and it was so early. As a result, on Sunday I called the company back and explained the situation. The person I spoke with told me he would call me back in an hour. Within the hour, Larry a technician called to inform me he had the parts and could be at my home in an hour. Larry was professional, prompt and knowledgeable. He repaired the refrigerator quickly saving me time from work and money spent on groceries. I am thrilled I called back and appreciate that Larry and Boston & Cambridge Appliance Repair provided me with excellent, old-fashioned customer service with no extra charges! They made my day!!!!

Great. Came over on the same day I called. gave us suggestion, but also suggested the best way and would work for the best price. Came the next day with the parts and did a great job. Customer service respond was great.

This is the second time I have used this company. The other time was for a Thermador indoor grill. Both times they were very friendly, helpful, thorough, punctual and nice to be around. Their quick work fixed my problem and the price was fair on both visits. I've had very good luck with this company and the two men who they send to fix appliances.

I called a couple of places for pricing and servicing and BCAR was the best by far on all accounts. The woman who took my call was friendly, very responsive to my situation and set me up immediately for a service visit. The gentleman who arrived to do the services was on-time and was really thorough and efficient. He checked many parts of the washer and found out it was a pump. My washer model year had a different pump than others but he had it on his truck (good prep work, team!!), and in short order my washer was humming nicely again. Price was great, it included service call, labor and parts. Everyone was great to work with, I trusted them totally. The gentleman nicely cleaned up the area when he was done. I would use them again in a heartbeat!

In a word - phenomenal. They returned my initial call promptly, scheduled the appointment at my convenience, showed up on time, and were cheerful, knowledgeable, and efficient. The whole appointment took less than an hour from start to finish, and my fridge is working like new now. I am particularly grateful because I'd had a handyman look at the refrigerator and he told me I'd have to replace the whole thing - so Boston & Cambridge Appliance Repair saved me at least $1,000!

They came out and helped with a dishwasher. A tenant was complaining that it wasn't working properly. As simple as it sounds, he tested the dishwasher and it was working properly, but he gave the tenant some tips and ultimately saved the owner several hundred dollars by not replacing what was a functional dishwasher!
