The service was excellent. Within 30 minutes the problem with my refrigerator was diagnosed (the motor was not working) and fixed. The serviceman had a spare motor already in his truck. He had it installed in 15 minutes and even put all of the food neatly back in the fridge. In addition, I was able to use my credit card to pay for the transaction. The service was efficient, professional and helpful.

Jay came on time, got straight to the problem after I explained exactly what was happening with the washer. He showed me an area where lint and water gets collected, which was blocked from years of lint build up. The washer was bought five years ago, and I was not told or shown this lint collection trap. Jay showed me how to access it and how often I should clean it out. I would definitely call this company again.

After two days I never received any call back. Two days later, I called the company and finally received a call from the repairman the next day. He told me that the circuit boards were back ordered from Maytag and he would try to get one locally, but it may take until late March or early April to get a circuit board. I called a few local appliance repair shops, not from Angie?s list, and both had the correct circuit board in staock. Plus I found four distributors on the internet that had the circuit board in stock. I made an appointment with one of the non Angies list repair shops. The gentleman came over the next day, installed the new circuit board. The dryer works fine now. I called Boston and Cambridge Appliance repair to cancel my appointment because nobody ever contacted me. The dispatcher said that she did call me. I checked both my cell phone and my home phone and there were no messages left for me. Bottom & Boston Cambridge Appliance Repair should work on their communication issues. As someone stated in another review, they were prompt to respond on the first call but are lacking in follow up. If they have a dispatcher or an office person, it should not be that difficult to call customers back with a status. And If I can find a part on the internet, why can?t they.

Recurring Freezer problem... The service person checked out the system again. Different problem due to aging compressor. (Unit is approx 20 years old) Was able to intelligently discuss options with us. We will hire again for other items.

Service technician was on time and immediately diagnosed the problem. He advised me on the approximate cost and then completed the work within 30 minutes of arrival. In and out. A job well done.

I described this above two other A rated Servicer wanted 200 and 300 for the job respectively, Same Day Appliance Repair.200 Waltham Appliance wanted 300 for this repair. I had done business with Waltham for years but based on my experience no more. The repairman was knowledgeable and friendly. A pleasure to work with. The repair turned out to be very simple and would have taken me 5 minutes. However, I did not know how to do it and did not want to risk a repair. The cost in my view is expensive but I am paying for expertise and knowledge which I do not have while $109.00 is high for 5 minutes labor. That being said the cost of the competitors beats out the 100 hammers which the Defense Department used to buy, the assumptions about the public is that it is gullible and stupid. While I am generally satisfied with the Repair expertise of the other vendors. Their business models and ways they each work hard to loot their customers albeit legally is appauling.

We love Boston & Cambridge Appliance Repair. They have fixed almost every appliance in our house. They are responsive, prompt, professional, very knowledgeable, etc. And they only charge $60 for a service call (during the week...I think it is more on the weekend). So if they don't end up having to fix anything (if for example you need a plumber instead of an appliance repair person), it is only $60 for them to have come out. It is nice to have found such a great reliable company.

The repairman showed up on Saturday, knew exactly what the problem was and fixed it. He was courteous and respectful and on time. I have used Boston Appliance for the last 13 years for all of my major appliance repairs.

The service tech arrived when he said he would, quickly diagnosed the problem with my refrigerator and gave me honest advice that it couldn't be effectively repaired. He said there was a coolant leak and while he could charge 250 and top it off, the effects would be short lived and dissatisfying. He recommended purchasing a new refrigerator.

Plain and simple. He came. He fixed the broken machine. He left.

I called and left a detailed message. They never returned my phone call. How you sell is a sample of how you solve.

Kenny came over on time (within the 2- hour window we were given) on a Monday and quickly had the front panel of the washer open and diagnosed the problem within 5 minutes. Essentially, an internal part that tells the washer to stop filling had worn out (a not uncommon problem). As a result the washer would over fill and leak onto our floor. Kenny was very helpful, answering all of my questions, explaining why my best guess about the cause of the problem was wrong (I'm not mechanically inclined) and showing me exactly what was going wrong. He had to order the part and was very forthright, told me that the company was extremely busy, but that the part should arrive by Wednesday and suggested I call if we didn't get a call. We got a call letting us know the part had come in, and we scheduled service for Friday. Kenny even called us himself to make sure we'd called to set up an appointment since the part had come in. He arrived on Friday again, on time, and had the repair finished and washer tested within 20-30 minutes. He showed me that all of the fill levels worked with the new part installed, and told me that the tubing he thought he'd have to replace was actually in good shape and so he hadn't replaced it - thus saving me money (because it would have taken him longer to replace the tubing). While writing up the bill of sale, he gave us a discount hearing that we'd found them through Angie's List. The discount was less than 10 percent, but we didn't have a coupon and he did this simply out of appreciation for me mentioning the list. He was friendly, very ready to answer questions, was quick and efficient but also clearly cared that the machine was truly fixed. He even took a minute to show me where the water shutoff valves were for the washer as well as the main water supply. I would use this company again, primarily because they were prompt, efficient, professional, and took the time to explain things. The cost was very reasonable given that the part itself (a GE part, pricing not in the Boston Appliance's control) was half the total bill.

The repair man called to ask if he could arrive ahead of schedule. That was fine with me. He was careful in taking apart the stove. I decided to have him change the ignitor in the stove in a second apartment, so the cost was for fixing both. I was very satisfied with his work.

Very simple. Diagnostic was done within 30 minutes. I honestly did not double check the price quote vs. competitors. I was very happy with the work and the explanation. This is the second time that this company has serviced this dishwasher. Both times I was happy and would definitely recommend them.

The repair was not sucessful.

Since he had to wait about 15-minutes to make sure the new switch was operating correctly, I asked him to look at a gasket replacement for another refrigerator in the same building. I had the new part, but had run into some problems trying to install it myself. After discussing the problem I decided to let Lee go ahead and install the part, and after seeing all that was involved I'm very glad I let him do it. Through out the whole experience (both repairs) Lee was informative, patient and respectful. It was everything you could wish for in such a situation.

I do not have the exact dates or cost, however they occurred last year and the charges were less than expected. They were here 2 times, 2 different problems. 1st time service was same day as request. 2nd time was early the next day. I would use this company in a heartbeat. Polite, professional, very reasonable price, and excellent service.

We woke up to find a lukewarm fridge. After perusing Angie's List for a highly rated and economical company, we decided on Boston and Cambridge Appliance Repair. Once we called to make an appointment, they were literally on their way to our house. Very quick turnaround! They were able to diagnose and remediate the problem quickly. They do have a service call charge, but their labor charges are relatively low.

Our washer broke late in the afternoon, and we were able to make an appointment for the next morning. Two technicians showed up - despite the snow and the parking challenges - and had the machine up and running in no time. They even had the part with them on the truck.

Great- very helpful. I wished that would be a bit more aware of water and washer lint when cleaning it out, but recognized it too and responded positively once I expressed concern. The service and friendliness far outweighed this and it was easily addressed.

Kenny was the individual who came to address an issue I was having with my gas stove-top. He was able to arrive earlier than planned which was nice and in minutes (maybe seconds) he knew what the problem was (I was embarrassed because it was nothing broken but these little holes in the burners that needed cleaning and were probably clogged by the people who just moved out) and took care of it. Super friendly, seemed super knowledgable and professional. Would definitely recommend and use again.
