THEY WERE AVAILABLE ON SHORT NOTICE TO INSTALL A NEW MICRO/HOOD. THEY WERE PROMPT AND DID A GOOD JOB, BUT THE MICROWAVE WAS MAKING A STRANGE NOISE AFTER IT WAS INSTALLED AND THE GUY COULDN'T TELL ME IF IT WAS A USUAL NOISE OR NOT ''SINCE HE DOESN'T REALLY KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT MICROWAVES''. BUT, IT APPEARS HE INSTALLED IT CORRECTLY. HE ALSO LEFT A LOT OF DRILL DEBRIS AROUND THE KITCHEN.

EXCELLENT. THE ESTIMATED TIME OF ARRIVAL WAS A REASONABLE 2 HOUR WINDOW AS OPPOSED TO THE USUAL 4-5 HOUR. THE TECHNICIAN WAS PLEASANT, ON TIME, MADE THE ADJUSTMENTS THAT HE COULD, AND ONLY CHARGED ME TEN DOLLARS OVER THE BASIC HOUSE CALL. I'D CALL THEM AGAIN AND NEXT TIME I WON'T WAIT AS LONG.
Description of Work: DIAGNOSED A BROKEN SPRING TO THE DISHWASHER DOOR WHICH LED TO THE BENDING OF THE DOOR HINGE. REPLACED THE SPRING AND SAID IN TIME I'D NEED TO REPLACE THE DISHWASHER BECAUSE THERE WAS NO FIXING THE HINGE. CHECKED THE GARBAGE DISPOSAL AND FOUND A WORN PENNY WHICH WE COULDN'T FIND AFTER SEVERAL WEEKS OF FEELING AROUND. CHECKED AND FIXED THE DOOR OF THE TRASH COMPACTOR WHICH KEPT POPPING OUT AND STOPPING.

THE REPAIR PERSON FROM BOSTON APPLIANCE ARRIVED EARLY, BUT WAITED UNTIL I GOT HOME. HE WAS POLITE, INFORMATIVE, AND THOROUGH.
Description of Work: WASHING MACHINE HAD BROKEN IN THE MORNING, SIMPLY STOPPED RUNNING DURING A RINSE CYCLE AND WAS COMPLETELY UNRESPONSIVE. THE REPAIR PERSON FROM BOSTON APPLIANCE ARRIVED WITHIN 2 HOURS OF MY FIRST PHONE CALL AND FIXED THE MACHINE IN LESS THAN AN HOUR. HE REPLACED A BROKEN PART AND CLEANED OUT THE WASHING MACHINE WHILE IT WAS TAKEN APART, INCLUDING UNBLOCKING CERTAIN AREAS AT NO EXTRA COST.

THEY WERE VERY FLEXIBLE ON THE SCHEDULING AND AGREED TO CALL ME 1/2 AN HOUR BEFORE THE REPAIR MAN SHOWED UP SO THAT I DIDN'T HAVE TO WAIT AT THE APARTMENT. HE DID THE WORK QUICKLY AND I THOUGHT IT WAS PRETTY REASONABLY PRICED.
Description of Work: THEY CAME AND LOOKED AT A STOVE THAT MY TENANTS SAID WAS ACTING STRANGELY. THE REPAIR MAN ADJUSTED THE OVEN DIAL SO THAT THE UNIT WOULD SHUT OFF PROPERLY AND TOOK THE UNIT APART AND DID A THOROUGH CHECK UP.

LARRY & MIKE CALLED TO SAY THEY WOULD BE EARLY, AND IDENTIFIED THE PROBLEM RIGHT AWAY (A CLOGGED VENT WITH 10+ YEARS OF GUNK). IT APPEARS THE MAIN VENT IS ON THE ROOF AND MIKE GOT ME THE NAME OF A COMPANY TO CALL SO THAT I WOULDN'T HAVE ANY FURTHER PROBLEMS. THEY WERE VERY KNOWLEDGEABLE AND PROFESSIONAL, AND CLEANED UP AFTER THE WORK WAS DONE. I GIVE THEM FIVE STARS!

EACH STAFF PERSON AT THIS COMPANY IS EQUALLY UNFRIENDLY, AND DISINTERESTED IN PROVIDING SERVICE. SEEMS LIKE OUR CALL FOR SERVICE WAS BOTHERSOME TO THEM. EACH MAN WHO ANSWERS THE PHONE SOUNDS ALIKE, AND ARE NEARLY ALL ARROGANT. HOW DID THEY PREVIOUSLY RECEIVE SUCH OUTSTANDING GRADES FROM ANGIE'S LIST?
Description of Work: SAME DAY SERVICE WAS ADVERTISED, BUT NOT REALIZED. REPAIRMAN CALLED IN SICK (DURING THE WINDOW OF TIME HE WAS SCHEDULED TO APPEAR), BUT GAVE NO ADVANCE NOTICE. (THAT HAPPENS FROM TIME TO TIME.) YET COMPANY WAS NOT APOLOGETIC. REPAIRMAN GAVE ESTIMATE THE NEXT DAY, BUT NEVER ORDERED PARTS AS PROMISED. COMPANY SAYS THEY NEVER HAVE PARTS SHIPPED FOR OVERNIGHT DELIVERY, DESPITE OUR INTEREST IN EXPEDIENCY. WORKER DID NOT LEAVE HIS NAME ON RECEIPT, AND LATER, COMPANY DID NOT KNOW WHICH OF THEIR WORKERS HAD GIVEN THE ESTIMATE. THREE DAYS LATER, "JOHN" MAKES APPOINTMENT. I STAYED HOME FOR THAT TIME, BUT HE NEVER SHOWS UP. WHEN WE NEXT SPOKE, HE APPARENTLY HAD "GOTTEN LOST", CLAIMING HE WAS NOT GIVEN THE CORRECT ADDRESS (?). JOHN WAS NOT APOLOGETIC, AND HE STILL DID NOT HAVE THE PARTS. HE STATED THAT HE WAS COMING BY TO "LOOK AT THE RECEIPT THAT HAD BEEN LEFT", AND CHECK THE ESTIMATE. HE HAD NO INTENT ON FIXING THE DRIER. FIVE DAYS LATER, DRYER REMAINS UN-REPAIRED.

EVEN THOUGH I CALLED QUITE LATE IN THE DAY SOMEONE WAS AVAILABLE TO MAKE AN APPOINTMENT. THE REPAIRMAN CAME THE NEXT MORNING, EXACTLY ON TIME, AND WAS VERY PLEASANT. A COMPUTER COMPONENT IN THE DISHWASHER HAD BURNED OUT AND HE WAS ABLE TO REPLACE IT QUICKLY. THOUGH THE COST OF $250 WAS NOT TRIVIAL, THE PART HE REPLACED APPEARS TO BE A MAJOR ONE, AND I WAS GLAD TO PAY IT TO GET MY DW WORKING AGAIN. VERY PROFESSIONAL, VERY PLEASANT, AND VERY EFFECTIVE.

I WAS TOLD TO EXPECT SOMEONE BETWEEN 3 AND 5. THE WORKMAN SHOWED UP AT 3, WENT RIGHT TO WORK, EXPLAINED WHAT HE WAS DOING AND HOW THE OVEN WORKED. I GOT A WORKING OVEN AND AN EDUCATION. THIS IS THE SECOND TIME I HAVE USED BOSTON APPLIANCE; BOTH EXPERIENCES HAVE BEEN EXCELLENT.
Description of Work: GAS OVEN DID NOT WORK. THE PERSON FROM BOSTON APPLIANCE DIAGNOSED THE PROBLEM AS A CLOGGED PILOT, AT ONCE. HE WAS ABLE TO CLEAN THE PILOT SAVING ME THE EXPENSE OF BUYING A NEW ONE. AFTER GETTING THAT WORKING, HE CLEANED THE PILOTS ON THE STOVE AND EXPLAINED HOW TO CLEAN THE STOVE AND HOW TO CLEAR ANY CLOGS IN THE STOVE BURNERS. HE RAN THE OVEN TO MAKE SURE IT WORKED, PUT EVERYTHING BACK IN PLACE.

TONY (TBONE) WAS ON TIME, VERY POLITE, KNOWLEDGEABLE AND REASONABLY PRICED FOR A SERVICE CALL.
Description of Work: THERE WAS A LEAK UNDER MY WASHING MACHINE. HE CAME TO MY HOUSE BETWEEN THE SCHEDULED TIME. HE IMMEDIATELY THOUGHT THE LINT SOCK WAS BLOCKED AND THERE WAS A BACK FLOW OF WATER. HE OPENED THE WASHING MACHINE TO SEE IF THERE WERE ANY LEAKAGES FROM THE PUMP OR GASKET AND HE CHECKED THE HOSES. HE WAS VERY THOROUGH AND HE SAID TO CALL BACK IF THE LEAK CAME BACK. HE COULDN'T FIND ANYTHING WRONG AND HE THOUGHT THE WASHING MACHINE WAS IN VERY GOOD SHAPE FOR AN OLD WASHING MACHINE. I DID A LOAD OF LAUNDRY AFTER HE REMOVED THE LINT SOCK AND THERE WAS NO LEAK.

I LEFT A MESSAGE FOR THEM, THEY CALLED BACK WITHIN A FEW HOURS. THE PERSON WHO BOOKS THE CALLS WAS VERY COURTEOUS, GAVE ME LOTS OF OPTIONS FOR WHEN I COULD BOOK THEM. THEY COULD HAVE COME AROUND NEXT DAY, BUT I LEFT IT TILL THE NEXT SATURDAY. THEY GAVE A TWO-HOUR WINDOW (8-10AM) AND THE REPAIR GUY ARRIVED RIGHT IN THE MIDDLE. HE CALLED 15 MINUTES AHEAD JUST LIKE THEY SAID HE WOULD. PRICE SEEMED AVERAGE FOR THIS KIND OF CALL: $40 CALL-OUT FEE, THEN $20 FOR LABOR.
Description of Work: HAVE A MAGIC CHEF STOVE THAT CAME WITH MY CONDO, ONE BURNER WOULDN'T LIGHT AT ALL, THE OTHER WOULD ONLY GIVE A SMALL FLAME. I DID MY BEST CLEANING AROUND THE AIR HOLES, BUT STILL COULDN'T GET THEM TO LIGHT/BURN PROPERLY. THE REPAIR GUY FOUND A FEW EXTRA ONES, CLEANED THEM OUT WITH A SAFETY PIN, NOW EVERYTHING WORKS. TOOK ABOUT 5 MINUTES. THE ONLY REASON I WOULD LOWER THE GRADE IS THAT WHEN CLEANING OUT THE BURNERS, CRUD FELL ONTO THE STOVETOP. IT WOULDN'T HAVE TAKEN MUCH TO CLEAN IT UP, BUT HE JUST LEFT IT THERE, SO I HAD TO CLEAN IT UP. AT $60 FOR 5 MINUTES WORK, I FELT LIKE HE COULD HAVE TAKEN AN EXTRA MINUTE TO LEAVE MY STOVE AS CLEAN AS HE FOUND IT. SO HE LOSES A POINT FOR PROFESSIONALISM. OTHERWISE, I'M VERY HAPPY WITH THESE GUYS, WOULD DEFINITELY HIRE AGAIN.

LARRY, THE SERVICE MAN, CAME ON TIME, WAS HELPFUL, INFORMATIVE, HAS A NICE SENSE OF HUMOR. THE MACHINE IS OLD, BUT HE FOUND THE PART. MY CALLS WERE ANSWERED PROMPTLY, AND HE CAME EXACTLY WHEN HE SAID HE WOULD.
