When I called, a woman answered the phone in a cheerful and courteous manner. She asked a few questions, gave me a choice of scheduling the repair for either later that day or the next day (I chose that day), and specified when the repairman would show up. He arrived within the time specified. He was courteous, friendly, and full of advice about refrigerators and refrigeration. He gave a clear and accurate breakdown of the cost of the work, and helped me to move food in and out of the freezer as needed. When he figured out the problem (a broken fan motor), he had a replacement part readily available in his truck and installed it within minutes. He also determined that my refrigerator was too close to the wall, helped me to move it, helped me to clean behind it, and when he had difficulty re-leveling the refrigerator due to the slant of the floor, explained exactly how to fix the problem later with a 2X4. He also explained that if the cooling problem recurred within a month of his visit, he would return and repair it at no cost.

The best part was that they came that same day, even though it was a Sunday! In terms of price, this was the first time I had a refrigerator repaired so I don't know what is standard. The visit was $60, plus $60 per hour (or fraction of hour) of labor, and then the part was $78. The only estimate they had given me was the $60 for the visit, so I was a little surprised at the separate $60 per hour labor charge but it makes sense. UPDATE as of June 2009: The refrigerator broke down again 3 months later and I bought a new one. I have no way of knowing if it had anything to do with the part they fixed, but just in case I wouldn't use this company again.

Very well.... they came right on time,cleaned up after themselves and were gone in an hour or so. Their prices were not a bargain, but were competitive.

They showed up when they said they would, the repairman was knowledgeable and professional, and the service overall was excellent. I will call them again when the next appliance gives me trouble.

I called them and their service man came in the next day. He was punctual. The service man was professional; he diagnosed the problem very quickly. He had brought all the materials that were required to fix the problem and he fixed it. I also told him to adjust the vent connection of the drier. He was able to fix it on the spot. It went very well. The price was reasonable.

THey came when they said they would, diagnosed the problem, and then had to come back the next day with the correct part. They didn't charge for the return trip since they didn't have the correct part in stock.

We have been finding water under the refrigerator for 2-3 weeks, and tried ourselves to find what was going on without luck. I called Boston & Cambridge in the morning (around 10) and they told me that someone will come between 12 to 2:00. Around 1:15 pm, Joe came. He was very friendly and went to work immediately. He found what was going on and in about 20 minutes the problem was solved. Even though I found the bill a little bit high, it was worth it to have the problem fixed. Joe let me know that it won't happen again, so that's good!!

They came in the very day we called them. They were punctual, knowledgeable, and the price was fair. They could have just replace the entire part with a new one and charged me a $1000, but they just fixed the same part back on. It works fine so for.

Last September I called the company to fix my fridge. He was like a miracle worker. Then four months later I was having the same problem. So this time i went to the manufacturer. I went to the company that they know when the problem that happened, they needed to replace the compressor not the relay. He wasted the whole appointment because he didn't tell me i might need a compressor. Had he been more informed he would have known there was a problem with the compressor. I think he was trying to save me money but I would have rather him told me, and fixed it then. In the end I had to pay someone else to do the work. I didn't feel he did bad work, he just didn't know about this particular part.

I called in the morning and they came the afternoon to repair my washer and everything works fine now.

He got there right on time, was out in 25 minutes, diagnosed the problem instantly, and solved it cheaply.

The receptionist was professional and scheduled an appointment for the same day. The technician, Joe, showed up on time and seemed very professional. He asked to see the manual and told me that, though the required parts were covered under the 12-year warranty, I wasn't covered under the warranty as I was not the original owner. He gave me a price for the parts and labor, confirmed that the parts would be available in one or two days and said he would be back in two days unless the parts came in sooner. After he left, I called Sub Zero and was told that I was in fact covered for the required parts, even though I was not the original owner. They gave me the name of two authorized repair companies. I called Boston and Cambridge's office and spoke with Jennifer, who apologized and said that she would cancel the parts orders and next service appointment. I would not be charged anything for the service call. Shortly thereafter, I received a call from the tech, Joe, who also apologized and said that Sub Zero must have changed its policy. The "C" grade for professionalism is really a composite -- "D" for the tech who misinformed me regarding the warranty, and "A" for Jennifer in the office who handled the situation well.

They came the very next day after I called. They were wonderful! The man was very pleasant and competent. He did a good job. He was going to come back on a different day to do something else and didn't show up the day he said he would. I called them and the man came out the next day.

This company is much cheaper than everyone else, and they do a great job. They do repair a lot of the high end type appliances. We have used the company for a couple years now and have always been satisfied with their work.

Turned out well. Checked to confirm all the thermostats, etc in working order. Cleaned and cleared "vents", gave me good suggestions on extending life of fridge.

We called on a Saturday night with a broken refrigerator. They called us back Sunday morning and sent a repairman out just a few hours later. By mid-afternoon the refrigerator was fixed. Great service!!

I called Boston & Cambridge Appliance a little after 1 pm and they said they could have somebody to my house that day between 1 and 3. The representative was at the house before 3 pm and replaced the broken belt on the dryer. I was incredibly impressed with the overall experience and would use them again in a heartbeat.

Great overall, they were able to come out and fix the stoves the very next day. The serviceman arrived on time and diagnosed both problems very quickly and worked efficiently and was very tidy and friendly.

I Phoned on Saturday and they came out on Monday. They gave me a two hour window and came within the first hour. Fixed the dishwasher quickly. I think the call out price was around $50 and the total cost came to $180. They do not quote the total price over the phone as they need to see the actual appliance. It is a lot of money but to get someone out within two days who is punctual and gets the job done made it worth it to me.

We noticed that our freezer/refrigerator was not cold late on a Friday afternoon. We called and left a message first thing on Saturday morning. We received a phone call right at 9 AM and scheduled an appointment for between 11 AM and 2 PM. Jay arrived at our house promptly at 11 AM, figured out what the problem was, and fixed it. We were relieved that it could be fixed on the same day for much less than we were expecting to pay.

My dryer would not work and suspected a faulty internal fuse since the light inside the drum was also not working. Called on Columbus Day morning and they were able to make an appointment for later that afternoon. Was told that the extra charge for holiday work would be an extra $10/hr. Also asked if they could look at the latch on my washing machine as I had been having trouble with it. Received a call later that day that the repairman scheduled to perform the repair had been injured and they offered to reschedule the appointment for first thing the next morning. Repairman arrived on time the next morning and diagnosed the problems as faulty latches on both machines. He quickly performed the repairs. Latches were rather pricey, amounting to half of the $240 I paid for the visit.

It's a 4 years old Maytag. This didn't make any sense to me. I went to a Maytag repair shop, bought a new belt, installed it myself, and it works like new. I sent them a letter and received no response.

It went very good. I was really pleased with the fact that he explained everything along the way. The customer service at the office was very pleasant and helpful. The repair guy's name was Jay and the office clerk's name was Kelly.
