Description of Work: I have used this service for around 5 years. They have always been professional and effective. I rent out properties in Boston and I live in another state and I can rely on these folks to take care of issues with the appliances in the apartments as well as keep the tenants happy. This company is, for me, a very valuable resource.

Description of Work: My Kitchen Aid dishwasher was leaking soapy water out of the front onto the floor. Had put an almost empty soft soap bottle in dish washer to clean it out before putting in re-cycle bin. Unfortunately, dish washers do not like any type of soap product other than dish washer detergent. The soap at bottom of soft soap bottle had obviously gotten into my dishwasher. When I called Boston & Cambridge Appliance Repair I did not know that the extra soap was causing havoc on my dishwasher. The woman on the phone, after having me explain the problem, suggested I put a tablespoon of vegetable oil in the water (which was already in dishwasher) so it would cut the soap and drain. I did that and then followed instruction to put a tablespoon of vegatable oil in dispenser and run the dishwasher through a full cycle before putting in dishwasher detergent. It worked just as she had said. Instead of sending a guy out to put a tablespoon of vegetable oil in my dishwasher, she gave me the advice by phone and saved me time and money. Of course, if you have dishes in the dishwasher, the oil will get on them so you need to run through with dishwasher detergent. Based on this experience, it is a firm I will call again when I need an appliance repaired. High marks for being prompt in responding and for being honest. The repair did not cost me a dime, just 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil!

Description of Work: I called them at 10 AM looking for repair of our washing machine. The repair man was at our door at 11:30 AM the same day. He diagnosed the problem correctly (plumbing issue). I will call them again if needed. Very happy with response and service.
