Amazonia Landscaping

I used Andre/Amazonia to install a new lawn after a pool installation. That was in summer 2021. The lawn still has not grown in in several locations. Also it is customary to remove all gravel and debris from the area as part of the work (that was in the scope/proposal) but this was not done. When I asked about it Andre said "the gravel will blend with the grass/dirt". To date it generally has not. I also used Amazonia to install sprinkler heads. 3 heads had a problem within 5 months or so and he charged me again to repair them. The lawn mowing was also problematic- they drove over my new travertine pool deck and left marks on several occassions and continually blow cut grass into the beds (which leads to grass growth in the beds). He also estimated a price for fall clean up at about $1300 which I agreed to but I was home every day (working remotely) so I validated he had only 2 workers for less than 2 hours each per occurance; this did not match the hourly rates used in his estimate (he apparently double charnged the lawm mover for leaf blowing as well). I stronly recommend you look at other vendors now that it is post Covid and the supply has increased. I will never use Amazonia /Andre again as in addition to low quality work I believe him to be dishonest.

Awesome. Excellent! I gave Andre and his team a huge job with multiple aspects, had lots of good exchanges, exploring and solutions. His team worked 7AM to 7PM over 7 days since there was a lot of work to do. Upon our first meet, Andre and I had a good exchange full of details and he came back later with the written detailed proposal, that captured everything I stated, completely echoed back to me. The main project was to dismantle and rebuild 4 terraced garden walls in my front yard and re-do the overgrown gardens. Underlying problems to solve were: 1) Water puddling in the garden too close to the house, 2) Hydrostatic pressure pushing and cracking the garage cement foundation wall, 3) Run-off water coming around the corner into the garage, 4) Drainage through a 15 yr old pipe under the driveway, which went to a dry well at the end of the driveway, which, 5) Needed to be connected to my main French drain channel that went across the back yard. Fortunately, after 18 years, my original home builder told me exactly where pipes and the French drain were located. I made sure I informed Andre the locations of all the typical gotcha's like underground gas lines, electric, water lines, septic tanks etc. If you have a design, explain it to Andre and he is happy to follow. If you don't have a design, Andre will consult with you and tell you what the finished product will look like. Andre has sample photos of his past projects and also has great, responsive, references that I called, who shared many pictures with me. I had pencil drawings only of my design, no computer drawings, but you can be as specific as you like. Andre took care of the outdoor lighting electrical, piping, drainage stone, repairing cracks in the concrete wall, waterproof insulating the wall, and sculpted the new garden to insure proper draining during storms. Andre's masonry team was excellent and I had the pleasure of meeting his Dad too. Andre's estimate was very close and realistic to the actual total bill at the finish. Amazonia is a genial friendly crew; cleanups are every night, they are great to work with. I would definitely hire them again and recommend them to anyone. I hired Amazonia to grade and landscape a large area in my back yard that was cleared of trees. This area was beautifully transformed in a matter of days. The work included grading, irrigation, mulching, new plantings, and installing a fire pit and patio. Andre is extremely responsive, hard working, and a true artist of his craft. He also has a very hard working crew working alongside him. I am so happy I hired Andre for this work and look forward to working with him in the future.
